A little about me...
I'm 52yrs young & have had my band since March 2007. I am engaged to a wonderful man, John, and I have no human children...just a "fur-son", Gustopher "Gus" a 2yr old Sealpoint Himalayan cat. I live in the middle of nowhere in southern NM & am the Training Coordinator for our local Walmart Supercenter. I am going to college online to get my Bachelors in Psychology with an emphasis in Human Resources. I love to read, knit, sing, camp & fish.

I was a victim of corporate "down-sizing" & ended up having to relocate. However, I ended up about 1,800 miles from my doctor! Since the area I live in is extremely poor, it has taken me a wee bit over 3 years to finally get a job with decent insurance. Now to find a doctor who will take me. After I first moved here, Dr Billing's office referred me to a doctor in El Paso, TX, but they wouldn't even let me come speak with the doctor! Claimed they never saw other physicians patients due to liabilities. What the heck?! Am I supposed to fly 1,800 miles round trip every 30-45 days for a fill?! NOT!! So...I've been trying to keep myself on track but it's rough going it alone.

Everyone in my family, mother, father & brother, all were victims of adult-onset type II diabetes. Only by sheer will-power, have I been able to eat healthier & strive to be healthier & kept from getting type II diabetes..(KNOCK ON WOOD!!) I do have some rather severe back & bone issues, but I believe they would be far worse if I were heavier. I also suffered from a very bad knee, but after losing the weight I have thus far, I was able to get a total knee replacement & recover in record time...YAY!! No more cane OR pain!!

I am engaged to a wonderful man who likes my "roundness" but wants me to be happy with me, so he gives me all the support I need. My brother & sister-in-law are also quite supportive of my desire to lose more weight.

Well, that's enough about me...glad to get the opportunity to know everyone!
