I have 40 pounds till goal. Even though the first month was a small struggle. I dont regret being sleeved for one da*n second!Congrats...you look good. I can't wait till I can cross my legs, I've never been able to do that

Thanks Jessi....I will do that. Next week Friday' date=' 15 days postop , I am allowed soft foods. Now that is a stage I will embrace very cautiously...but I must admit, I am always hungry now. Not head hunger..real hunger...Ughhhh[/quote']Next Tuesday is 14 days post op for me and I'm allowed pureed foods but I'm barely getting enough liquids in now so we shall see. So your hungry already? Is it the same feeling as pre-op? I noticed I have a lot of head hunger, and am dying for some soft cheese...lol

Hey January sleevers...I have a question. I am 6 days out today and I kept reading about miso Soup. I bought some and ate it tonight. I really really loved the taste of it apart from my regular blah broth' date='lol...well its was very tasty and now my head is sorta spinning. Is that really a good soup of choice? I am afraid to eat anymore, it tasty salty but I love salt. Please let me know if that is a good soup for the full liquid stage. Now I have to eat crackers to help myself feel better. Ughhhh[/quote']I wouldn't eat the crackers, your tummy is healing and food isn't allowed for 3 weeks, I think that will make it worse. I'm a week out and a full liquid that's watered down makes me sick.

I'm also back to mommy duties except lifting. I absolutely cannot get enough Protein in. I'm doing pretty good with Water..but even when I drink slow I'm still having gas pains. I have to stop and bend at the waste to get it out or stop and take a huge breath. Is anyone else having this kind of problem? I'm a week out and thought surely the gas from surgery would be gone by now.I know I'm not getting enough fliuid in, even though I sip all day, just like I'm not getting enough Protein in. My body just can't take that much liquid. I also have had your issue and I agree about bending over to help.

So I weighed myself this morning and since my surgery on 1/29 I have lost 19 lbs. I dont know if thats too fast but its exciting
-
Wow, amazing. Congrats, I can't wait until I lose a large amount and can see it. I was sleeve 1/29 and was down 11lbs as of yesturday
-
Has anyone started driving around yet?Sent from my SCH-I535 using VST
Nope, gonna try later in the week. I'm not suppose to for 2 weeks
-
So has anyone over done it yet? I think I did yesturdat and I didn't even do much. Resson I ask is because I was in pain ALL NIGHT. A sharp pulling pain, whereas the other night I was able to lay in certain positions with no pain. How long should it hurt before I start to worry
-
I think I have an infection in my wisdom tooth. Hurts like hell and my gum flap looks somewhat swollen. Good thing I still have pain meds from the surgery. Ouch ouch ouch' date=' can't wait til my dentist opens up tomorrow.[/quote']Ouch, sorry about that.

Thanks a million
Your welcome! Were all on this path together

Ooo, you can't sleep either? I haven't been able to sleep more than 2 hours and was worried it was me. I'm happy on clears still though, I still only at 30oz at most during the day.

Thanks I will do just that but did u have a problem wit Water hurting ur stomach... At first it was cold then I got some that was room temp..
Yes, I have been drinking warm crystal light. Warm tea helped relax my stomach a lot. Also, make sure your sips are tiny

Sleeved on Feb 1st.. Surgery went great... Doc says liver was perfect... After recovery they put me in a room ( didn't notify my family) and left me for an hour. I was in so much pain it was in my back...once I got pain medicine they had to alternate with two different kinds b/c they i went so long without meds.. They had to get it under control... Finally I was told that I was not in the hospital records so they could not give me pain medicine right away.. But the good news is I'm home...feel much better just a little sore..It does get better every day, its slow but better. I stayed in the hospital 3 days due to vomiting so my recovery is moving very slow, just remember to keep moving

Has anyone had pressure in their chest along with sharp pains running down their arms?
-
Gas x strip? Maybe I'll send my hubby to the store for that. I knew straws were a big no no. It completely went out of my mind when I went to Smoothie King to check out their low carb Protein Shakes.Yes, try the strips, they melt completely and help a lot. Hmmmm, I can't wait until I can have a smoothie. Its gonna be awhile:-(
-
I can't wait to wear a shirt that shows my tummy. Espesically in New Orleans were its too hot for clothes
-
Check with your doctor but I was able to stop them because I was not in bed.. If you are up moving every 2 hours then you can probably stop them.
I got the shots every 8 hrs on the dot while in the hospital for 3 days. I couldn't image sticking myself with those burning little things of pain....
-
It sounds like you got air in your sleeve along with Water. How far out are you post op?? I remeber at the hospital my baratric nurse said straws draw in too much air. Maybe try a gas-x strip to see if it helps.
-
Okay, I couldn't help myself...I weighed myself today....4 days post op and I'm down 7 lbs. I can't believe it, even with me being swollen
-
I'm sure you'll feel so much better. By day 5 I think I was only taking my meds at night to help me sleep! Are you using your incentive spirometer to help with the breathing? I did use that because I did feel a little short of breath.
Thank you so much.I'm day 4 post op and still feel bad. I use my meds at night, bust can only sleep about 1 to 2 hrs, before my nody wakes me up to tell me it hurts. I've been using the spirometer, but maybe it takes a little bit to help.
How long did it take to work up your liquids? Right now, I'm at about 10-12 oz for the day. Anything more hurts? Also did anyone dry heeve a lot? I dry heeve probably twice a day and throw up once. Pretty awful since it tastes like blood.
-
Not at all! I was sleeved Jan. 14. Stayed 2 nights and by day 5 I was feeling much better. I had my drain out after 1 week and that was the last of my discomfort' date=' thankfully. My incisions were all glued shut so I think that helped my incisions from ever being too sore! I'm just ready for my mushy stage to start on Monday!!![/quote']
Wow, you are like my hero...I am 3 days post op and I don't feel good at all. I'm still short of breathe and can't lay down at all, its so painful. I can't wait until I hit day 5 and hopefully feel better.
-
Me. Along with my band scar tissue clean up' date=' my surgery took almost 5 hours! It was supposed to take 1.5 hours! But...thankfully I havent been having the heartburn I was having pre-sleeve! [/quote']
Omg.....I dont know how you made it through 5 hours. Are you still sore?
-
I understand how some pre-op people feel. I was sleeved on 1/29 and I'm not going to lie, I am still hurting. Part of my issue is I'm vomiting. I can only handle about 2 sips of vit. Water or warm tea. It will get better, I can say this because yesturday, was horrid, today is just bad.
-
I have to say that we are ALL stars!! for going through what we went through' date=' getting the sleeve is not easy and it gets better with each new day but it is not for the weak because you really really need to be strong for yourself.[/quote']Agreed!

Good luck with that, I know about not wanting to tell people and when they see you not eating it raises a lot of questions. You can be strong though, just find mushy things and use my current line of why I'm not eating much" my stomach has been kind of icky lately" good luck, I'm sue you'll be fine.
