January 2013 Sleevers?
Jessi_Rae replied to LenaVSG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone, I will be an January 2013 slleever also. Im not sure of when, no date yet, but will be seeing my surgeon next Thursday. According to my patient advocate, its about 3 weeks after meeting with the surgeon, so I should be looking around the 25th, 26th. -
Thank you, and its so hard to wait. Hopefully I will see the surgeon sometime next week, and than I have the long waiting game of finding out if im approved. How long did it take you to be approved and what did you do until you found out??

Congrats, My office will be submitting my paperwork soon, about 2 weeks. Im more anxious for the approval than the surgery.

Hey Everyone, Im a 25 AA female on my WLS journey. Im so glad I found this thread on the forum, because it addressed a lot of concerns I have been having. I just finished up my pre-opt testing, and Psy evalution this week, along with my diet. My PCP will fax over all my information on Monday and hopefully I will be able to meet with the surgeon next week.My surgeons office said after seeing the doc, its about 3 weeks until your surgery which works out, since the winter semester would be starting shortly after that. Im getting excited, but nervous Aetna will deny my claim since I didnt see the doctor in 2011, so I dont have a 2 year history of being overweight, even though the office has my weight history since 2005. Im going to try and find out if I saw a different doctor in 2011, and get the information faxed to them, so the claim is accepted. How is everyone doing with significant others being supportive. My boyfriend of 5 years, isnt being all that supportive. While he wants me to lose weight for my health, he likes BBW, OBVISOULY. He is afraid I will lose too much weight and my curves, how can I make him understand, It will just be a new and improved kind of curves?

How Long Does It Take For Them To Schedule Surgery When U Start?
Jessi_Rae replied to nicci1228's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope I have a a nice smooth journey on getting approved, Aetna requires a 6 month diet, 3 months in a row. Lucky for me, I did a diet with my PCP for 2 months, and also the year prior, so if im lucky, I will be looking at 3 months of dieting, and I started this month. Heres hoping I can be a January sleever. -
I dont know if wraps work, but im going to try wraps along with Bikram yoga to tighten up skin. I already ahve a bit of flab on my tummy, but hopefully the drawing out of toxins through yoga and wraps will do the trick for my skin. Along with build muscle and tighten skin to show it off.

It could be muscle since your sore and the scale went up. I know that when I start working out, I tend to gain weight but lose inches( Stupid body builds muscle easy), so that might be it. If your hitting the weights, maybe try just cardio??

How Long Does It Take For Them To Schedule Surgery When U Start?
Jessi_Rae replied to nicci1228's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My health insurance require 6 months of dieting, 3 of it being consistent. I just saw my dietian and completeled 2 months of PCP surpervised dieting earlier in the year, so I have about 3 to 4 more months of the diet part. Last year I did 2 months of PCP dieting also, so I really only need 3 months. Im going to go see my dietian twice a month, since seeing her is free(college student) and I want to make sure I have a good paper trail. -
Hi everyone, I had my appointment with my Dietian this morning and I will be meeting with her every 2 weeks. Im a college student and we have a register Dietian and hopefully my health insurance accepts the diet I will be doing with her. I need 6 months of dieting also, but earlier in the year I did 2 months, so Im left with only 4. If I were to go back to last year also, I woulod only need the 3 months, since I was surpervised under my doctor. Im not happy about waiting 4 months, but am going to take it to consider what I need to do to have a healthy successful relationship with food.

Hello everyone. Im a newbie here, just starting my weight-loss journey. I attened my first seminar last week, and heard back from the office today about my benefits. According to my insurance, I must do a 6 month diet( as most of you know), and than we can do the surgery. Luckily for me, I did 2 months of a program this year, so I only need for more months. Im not happy about waiting for 4 months, but It will give me a chance to really think through the surgery, along with getting in the best shape as possible. Looking for others who give any support or tips, or just need to talk. Thanks for Listening JR

Hi - Congrats on your journey, and getting your surgery soon. Im just starting, and have 4 months of dieting to go.

Im sorry about your 6 months of waiting, but im sure it will go by quickly. I have just started my journey, and am ready to get started, but will do the 6 months if required, though I read I could do a 3 month diet. Good luck on your journey, this is just the first step.
