Forget blaming it on the dog ... I'm gonna blame it on DeLarla!! You crack me up, DeLarla! I had heard that hot Water bottles can help w/ gas pain? Anyone have any luck w/ that?
-
Gee Muriel ... I just don't know how Seymour could have left you like that! I wonder if Siju is single?? Hmmm!
-
Thanks Alexandra! The support from this board in invaluable! A special thanks for all you do!

Hi Monami! I'm 54 days (and counting) away from getting my band, so I can't help you, except to say read back in the old posts. There is a lot of info back there! Congrats on your band, and welcome to the board!

What a pretty name! I agree with Vera on the unknown dangers of aspartame. When I read there was a possible link to Alzheimers, well ... I have just read so many bad things about it, why take the chance! Although I will admit to giving in to my Diet Pepsi crave here and there ... but not once my band goes in!! Vera, I have a lot of hip pain that I have believed to be due to weight and uterine fibroids, but now I'm wondering??? I've heard good things about splenda, thou. I don't really care for Gatorade, but I do like Propel, the fitness Water by Gatorade. It is really tasty and refreshing and my kids love it too! When is your date, DeLarla? Best wishes to you! Hang out here and you will be as ready as you can be for your trip to Mexico!

Thanks, Big Dog! Another great tea is Cat Nip Tea. It is great if you are trying to quit something ... nicotein, caffeine, etc. It is very soothing and takes away those "I need" jitters! It tends not to be so realxing for me though if my two cats are around! I can't keep them out of my teacup! Available in bags or loose.

Family sure gives us incentive, don't they! I have 2 kids and they are the main reason I am getting healthy! Welcome to the board, you will be very happy here, I'm sure!

OMG Becky! I'm so glad they found the problem and were able to fix it right away! Boy, just goes to show, we really need to always listen to our bodies, 'eh? You knew something wasn't right! Glad you pursued it! Well, best wishes for getting right back on track!

Hey, if we're going to Hawaii, we should all save our current swimsuits for the pictures! HA! Move over Robin, the rest of us are gonna make our own billboard!
-
Too funny, Alexandra! Kinda like picking up a gallon of milk thinking it's full when it's almost empty, 'eh! Darcy! OMG! I'm so glad you are ok! Here's another way to look at it ... at least this way you still have some padding! Be careful, girl!

Lill, that is fantastic! The very best part is that you are feeling so well and so confident! I can't wait until my clothing feels loose! You know, people talk about being able to wear sexy clothes ... no, I just want loose! Flowing even! Like Kathy, I have a wide range of clothing sizes 16 to 28. It was when I bought the 28 that I knew I had to make a decision! I will throw them (give them) away as I lose, but I'm going to keep the 28 crop-pants! I plan on taking a picture of me with both legs in one pant leg! Best wishes to your continued success!

Jeanie! Good for you! 61 pounds is awesome! I bet you have a lot more energy! Thanks for posting your pretty pictures! Keep up the good work!

Yeah Melissa!! Best wishes to you for an easy recovery! I hope all is well, post when you can, and take care of yourself!!

Sunnyone, I have not yet been banded (scheduled for 6/14) and I understand your questioning the worth of the band. I too have wondered as I've read all the little problems involved. However, they do seem to be mostly that ... little! For everyone who posts a problem, there are a number of helpful and caring responses, suggestions, hints and tips. I've noticed that if I follow these posts, within a week or so, most of the problems have gone away. Sue and Alexandra are a wealth of info, as are many on this board. Listen to the people who approach this realisticly (sp!). They make sense and put everything into perspective. When I weigh the problems that I have now with those I am reading about here, well, I can't wait to PB! (lol) At least then I'll know I'm on my way!! Best wishes to you and your daughter!

Kelly, I have no clue!! I just wanted to say I hope you're feeling better soon!

Hello, and welcome! Like Darcy, I am waiting for my band as well. I'm scheduled for 6/14. I have met with the nutritionist thou. I will be on an Atkins-like diet for 2 weeks pre-op. Then a week of liquids, followed by a week of "mushy". It really depends on how the healing is going, thou. And yes, as soon as my mind was a definate go for surgury, I began to binge! Every meal was the last supper and for the first time in my life I had no guilt when I ate 'cos I knew I would be doing something about it soon. That only lasted a few weeks and I kept thinking that I couldn't wait for surgery. Then I realized I didn't have to wait, I could start preparing now. So I joined Curves and started paying attention to what I was eating. Not dieting, just watching. Also I am drinking more and more Water 'cos that is so key to cleaning the system and keeping weight loss going. But you can bet I will still be enjoying my favorite Pasta dishes up until June! Best of wishes to you and your wife! I'm sure you will find this site to be a huge help! Go further back in the posts and you will find a wealth of info!

Sheila!!!!!!! Welcome back! Awesome news! I am glad you are feeling good! Now you take good care of yourself! It's healing time!
-
Jennye, that's awesome! 16 sounds like such a "normal" size!! Good for you and your "band sense". Sounds like you are really in touch with reality! You'll continue to do really well!
-
Hi Nancy I have no answers for you, but I wanted to respond anyway! I think that being you have recognized the problem, you'll soon regain control. Some things we do we will never know why, if we did, we wouldn't have a weight problem to begin with! So, don't fret it, just get back to basics. Drink your Water, increase your movement, blah, blah, blah! Back to basics, take back control! Best wishes to you!!

Ummm, I had to have the ABG too! But then, BaileyM and I have the same doctor! I was literally sick to my stomach with the anticipation ... all for naught! It was nothing! I had heard the horror stories, I had watched my Mom cry and cry and her arm turn black and blue, but it was just a poke, nothing more! I had to remind myself that my Mom was 84 and had really weak skin and veins and arteries! You may not even need it, but if you do, you'll be just fine!
-
Welcome back, Texasbelle, and congrats on your band! Don't rush it, girl! You just had a life changing surgery! And don't be down on yourself, you need to cut yourself some slack!!sleep if you are tired, lay down and rest, read a good book, watch a movie, pamper yourself! You'll be up and around before you know it but right now you need to give yourself permission to relax and HEAL! So, can you remember these words and throw them back at me next June when I have my surgery!! (Only if they helped, thou!!) Good luck and best wishes!

I did it! I joined Curves this morning. Paid for the whole year, even! (Make me go, please make me go!!!) I have fibromyalgia and my physical therapist said that I need to "sneak-up" on my muscles, so I figured the program of 30 seconds, switch, 30 seconds, switch would be just right for me. And it's convenient ... I'll drop the kids off at school, then go to Curves on my way home! I'm really excited! I know I'll have to take time off after my surgery. Anyone know how long? They will give me a medical extention on my year. I've decided to really make the most of the 2 months til surgery. I was in some crazy mindset that the more I ate now, the more weight I would lose later! Whattheheckwasthat!?!? So, I'm drinking my Propel and not eating fast-food and I'm slowly cleaning my house! I kept thinking "Oh, I can't wait for surgery" then it dawned on me ... I don't have to wait. The surgery is just part of this life long process, so I can begin RIGHT NOW! Well, if anyone has any words of wisdom on Curves or life in general ... I could use the extra push! Thanks for being here!
