How Many Nights Were You In The Hospital?
RunningGranny replied to crickee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in for three nights. It was supposed to be two but I wasn't consuming enough fluids by the third morning. I was up to two ounces an hour and my surgeon wanted me up to 4 oz'a in a hour. I had no problem with pain or nausea. I was very lucky. I never used the PCA nor did I ask for any other type of pain relief. I was uncomfortable a bit but not enough to medicate. -

Did Anyone Make A Food Bucket List?
RunningGranny replied to LeahMae's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did . . . but I didn't follow through on it! I decided to have wls surgery because I was ready to make a change. Having a "last supper" or splurging on bad-4-me foods felt like a step backwards. Plus I did that right before every other "failed" attempt in the past. I wanted this time to be different! I'm ready and committed to making life long changes starting from the day I walked into the info session! That was three months ago, I've lost 40+ pounds, my surgery is 11/7 and I'm pumped and ready! -
I was approved on Tuesday and today we set my date for the 7th! There was a cancellation so I got the early date! I had to do a three month medically supervised diet where I lost 30 pounds. Then the day they submitted to the insurance I began the liquids only diet in hopes of a cancellation!!!! Because I did so well on the 3 month preop diet and started on liquids two weeks ago I didn't have to wait as long!!!!! YA HOO!! SOOOO HAPPY!!!

What Are You Going To Do After You Hit The Reset Button?!

Cross my legs Paint my toenails Not fear turnstiles Ride in a roller coaster Fly in coach w/o a seatbelt extender Horseback ride Take a bath Sit on the ground and not be afraid I can't get up To name a few -
I too have been many sizes, up and down. Four years ago I lost 100 on weight watchers but then gained it back. . Two years ago I lost 100 pounds on Medifast but gained it back. Now, so far I have lost 33 pounds on my second month of a 3 month presurgery diet and so far no one has said anything. I am sure they are thinking, "been there, done that"

How soon after surgery were able to return to work? Taking off for what management considers an elective surgery would be career suicide for me so I'm planning to use my pre-approved vacation week. I have a sedentary job but I'm worried that 10 days may be too soon to return to work.

Things You Can Never Have Again With Sleeve :(

Love this! And I'll add: Never being concerned if I fit in the turnstile Never needing a seatbelt extender on airplanes again Never being afraid to sit on someone's dining room chair -
