Protein Shake Mix
AngelaLou99 replied to rebirth91712's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, but not the whole box at once for one shake! If you are using the small box, just use 1/3 of it. If its the big box 1/4 of it. The more pudding, the thicker it gets! -
Protein Shake Mix
AngelaLou99 replied to rebirth91712's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! I like the EAS protein powder in both chocolate and vanilla, and I always use 1% or skim milk. Also a little trick that I use to make it even better and more like a 'real' shake is to put in a little bit of whatever flavor you feel like of Sugar-free Jello Pudding straight from the box. YUMMY!! Also any sugar-free syrups or flavorings work too. The Bariatric Advantage ones are good and don't need any additions to them. They are very thick and filling. Use milk also. I like all the flavors except for the Iced Latte. I'm not a coffee drinker, so that's probably why. That is what my Doctors office sold and recommended. Hope that helps. Good Luck with everything!! -
Survived My 1St Fill, But I'm A Bit Annoyed
AngelaLou99 replied to Lori Voss Green's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I also got my very first fill today. 4cc in a 14cc band. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but when (if ever) should I feel anything? I know everyone is different, but I thought I would feel the fluid going in the band or instant restriction. Maybe in the morning I may because I was told it gets tighter in the morning. So I have liquids/mushies for the next day or two. Is this what to expect after each fill? -
Why Did U Chose The Band...
AngelaLou99 replied to shelly513's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! I chose the Band over the bypass and sleeve because I feel that it was the best choice for me personally. The bypass is too permanent, and I have seen too many people with complications from it. The sleeve would be my second choice of the three procedures. I'm a little over three weeks post-op. With the band, I know the weight loss will be slower, but it works better in my life. You can get the same results as the others, but it will take longer. I can deal with slower than an immediate and drastic weight loss. -
Nervouse About Getting A Fill
AngelaLou99 replied to missymobaby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for this post!! I may have my first fill on Thursday, and I am about more nervous about it than the surgery!!! My surgery was on 8/22/12, and knock on wood, I have not had any problems, nausea, or vomiting and I worry if things will change after a fill? -
Contstipation?
AngelaLou99 replied to mgilbert0429's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a question....Why is a daily BM not the norm for Bandsters?? This may be TMI, but I go pretty much every day. Should I be concerned? -
Did anyone have to do blood thinner injections after surgery? I had to do 2 weeks worth that ended on Wednesday. I am bruised on both sides of my stomach even after following the directions!! That is what I'm having issues with right now. Other than that, everything has went fine since surgery. So glad to be able to eat tuna and other baked fish!! : -)

I was Banded on 8/22. My incisions are itching like crazy, especially at night!! I've already had my first follow-up appointment, and they said that I may be allergic to the dermabond that was used, but it is OK for me to take Benadril. So right before I go to bed, I take liquid Benadril. It helps tremendously!!
