Stress and Disappointed
kimpossible67 replied to kimmie2363's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I also weigh 1 st thing in the morning. Almost every day since surgery. I also measure too. Keeps me in line. -
What's the worst about c section pain is the turning over, sitting up/down. I had 2 sections, both vertical (scarred belly button) I'm old, lol. The sleeve felt nothing similar when turning over or up/down. While I have the old style section maybe my experience is different because almost all of the ab muscles were cut then sewn back together?

If anyone would have told me a year ago that today I would be walking 7.12 miles and do beginner yoga for 1 1/2 hours and it's not even 6 pm...I would have been dead from the overexertion of laughing to death.

I waited too long to have it. I see above we're all singing the same tune

Grrr, I looked and the closest to you is 390 miles in Pennsylvania. 4 hour drive. I don't know if that's anything doable for you.

Do you have swaps on facebook? They are awesome! I had one lady just drop me off about 30 items of clothing she was going to donate. I've made decent money on my old stuff and stuff that the weather (Winter) didn't allow me to wear now they're too big. We have some great consignment shops but you can make wayyy more $ on swaps. You can get nice clothes cheap as well. Hell we even have a Victorias Secret Swap!

The one thing that fascinated me the most is I have a mole on my neck. You can't see it in the license pic after I edited it. I can see it and it's almost down in the area of my collarbone. Now it's back up on my neck where it belongs lol. Funny the strange and random things we discover. I was at the dr the other day. I cross my legs all the time cuz I CAN! I was told to uncross them while my bp was taken lol. I told her, "but it's just so entertaining that I can!!!" -
Holy cow I dug out my current and past licenses. W o w! I'm not sure I resemble them anymore. Is it too braggy to have a new pic taken?

Say what? 62??? I'm in Michigan, ours are renewed every 4 years. Mine only lists height but they ask for weight so it's in their records. Good for you you're almost there!!! -

I believe all bariatric surgeons only do bariatrics. However my suggestion was for the Barix clinic specifically. It's a hospital devoted entirely to bariatrics. Hasn't anyone seen the commercial??? It's much different than the bariatric program at a regular hospital. My ex had it at Barix in 2007 and because of how awesome they were I went in 2014. This after I was denied by the surgeons at 2 hospital bariatric surgeons. It's very different. I'm from Michigan and patients came from Canada to have it done there. Luckily I was only 2 hours away but it was way worth the travel.

Not even in the same category, at all. Not the abdominal pain to be specific and yay, no heavy bleeding! I was one of the lucky ones, I suffered no gas pains (gas pains were awful when my gallbladder was removed). But the surgery itself was a breeze. I asked the same question as you and they were all correct. Not alike whatsoever.

If you are or have followed Atkins you know the accepted fruits are berries. They have the lowest amount of fructose thus having the smallest impact on blood sugar spikes.

FB swaps are really popular and have been a great way to make money. Way more profit then say consignment. Check around. Save your largest, most amazing item and start letting it go, the rest that is. Pretty soon you'll have a virtual sea of clothes. May as well stay on top of it. They're gone, for good.

One year post op. Same psych meds I've been on for at least 7 years. I'm having bouts of amnesia. My meds have never been adjusted. One I take, prozac causes amnesia. Also xanax. I can't find anything on google. I did look up prozac. Not only is it reported to cause amnesia but a large portion of amnesia reactions come from MS patients. I was dx'd with MS in 2007. Help!
-
Well an interesting tidbit. I take a handful of psych meds one being prozac for OCD. He really honed in on that one saying it causes amnesia. So I go home and half heartedly look up prozac. Much to my shock I read that one of the largest groups complaint about amnesia are MS patients! I was diagnosed with it in 2007. I began my current psych meds in 2008. Long time. Why now are they going haywire? My psych does not talk nor ask questions. He refills and sends me on my way in under 3 minutes I'm sitting in his office. My therapist does not have a dialogue with my psych about what we discuss so what's the point? All I can find is that mega weight loss often means psych meds may need to be increased NOT decreased! Ugh

Keep trying. Might I suggest a Barix clinic in your area? They got me thru after I'd been turned down by 2 other surgeons/programs. It's all they do. Not only did they dismiss the reasons I was turned down previously but they got me through in lightening speed. From consult to surgery, maybe 6 weeks. The only bad part was it was 2 hours away.

I try not to make it a habit but I get an OJ once in awhile and it totally feeds my sweet tooth. I try to make it last 2 days. I buy maybe 2 bananas a month. I like them on the green side so in my head I think less carbs if not ripe. I eat half. Save the rest for another time. I bought a container of fresh pineapple a couple weeks ago. I haven't touched it. It keeps staring at me when I open the frig door. It's going in the freezer. I have a container of frozen raspberries. So if I get a sweet tooth I'm covered. Here's a trick I learned years ago. To balance the sugars in fruit, eat some Protein with your choice. Peanut Butter w banana. cheese with Apple and so on. You'll be less likely to bottom out from the fructose if you pair it with a protein. Pineapple/cottage cheese. Pineapple with chicken, etc.

I guess no one has given me a straight answer rather due to fast weightloss did they become overly sensitive to their psych meds? I was just at my primary. He believes too high of dose is causing amnesia. He tested me for dementia all was perfect. My psychiatrist has me in his office for the length of time to write my scripts. There is no conversing. In and out in under 5 minutes.

I've lost 124 lbs now. I'm in a size 12-14. I go to the BMI calculator. That's a kick in the face and worse than a scale! Mine is 32...still obese. Talk about a downer! Avoid the bmi calculator if you are sensitive to a beat down.

I've been in a stall for awhile. I go up-down 3 lbs. No biggie. I've been busting my butt the last week exercising. I walked 9 miles yesterday, 8 the day before. Did yoga for the 1st time and some ballet warm-ups. Really pushing myself. I finally broke thru the stall. Down 3 lbs!!! Yay!!! I just did my daily weigh...I have gained the 3 lbs back!!! Wwwhat? There's not a part of my body that isn't sore. Even my hair hurts :/

I'm going to flip a lid!

I do measure but I've misplaced my note from right before surgery with my before stats. I don't normally freak out weighing daily. Stalls don't bother me. It's just I've tripled the amount of exercise and was hoping to break the stall. I was just bummed that it didn't stay the same. I weighed at 5 minutes to midnight, gained 3 lbs. I weighed again when I woke up at 5 am, back down 2 lbs. -
I don't go to the gym, I don't do Zumba, I've been invited to yoga but I don't understand yoga. I don't see how relaxing and deep breathing is suppose to get you in shape. Then came youtube. I was in the privacy of my best friend's house and her girls are following a beginner's video. I gave it a go. It's HARD! Holy cow! I walk miles and miles a day both on a treadmill and outside. I do floor exercises, stretches, crunches, etc. Yoga kicked my ass. I'm just too high strung I think. I need high energy music as close to my eardrums as possible. So I've been flirting with memories of when I was a teen and danced for a handful of years. I googled ballet positions and a beginners warmup/excercise. It eventually came back to me. I look forward to the rock hard calves I once had! I'm certainly much stiffer than I was at 18 but I felt so good I could physically do it.
-
My arms and shoulders are so sore. My hips don't actually hurt but I can "feel" their presence. I did like the end when you just stretched out and stayed still and did relaxing breathing but the rest of it I was pouring sweat! I was going to do some yard work but it hurts.

Omg! The picture taking traumatized me for life.
