  1. They broke them in 1/4's and told me to take on quarter every five minutes, at the hospital. That's all well and good but I take about an hour or two of quartering/five minutes worth of meds. I swallowed whole after 2 weeks. No problems.

Why do I have to drink slowly?

I just drink. I use a draw too.
  3. I ate the individual cups of the velvetta Mac and cheese cups (just a few spoons) when I went to soft food. I still have some but I'm on regular food now, not something I even care to eat.
  4. Nope, doesn't bother me a bit. I have a big bunch of cheerleaders. I'm honest about it and people are interested. Some interested in having the surgery.

Thank you for your kind words. They are appreciated!

Ft Benning. I fully intend to sweat off 10 lbs! I'm from the Flint Michigan area but I went to Barix Clinic in ypsalanti. Great surgeon (Dr. Taylor). They were all so great and made a fat person feel accepted. I didn't get that when I tried McClaren nor Hurley.

I'm going on a long road trip next week for my son's Army graduation (michigan to Georgia). I'm going to be in lots of pain from 24 hrs on the road. I have MS and it doesn't appreciate road trips, lol. I am taking Aleve JUST for the trip. I can't imagine 2 or 3 doses will cause any trouble...???
  8. I take a handful and did so (broke into pieces) whole 2 weeks out. I take lamictal Prozac Xanax and seroquel and seroquel is huge. All down the hatch together. Has anyone's dosage been adjusted to their weightloss?
  9. I stick with sugar free Gatorade which I HATE (G2) or Powerade Zero. I don't need a bunch of empty calories from a bottle of sugar water.

    What does it feel like?

I've been reading these posts for 4 months and seriously, everyone is so different. I EXPECTED it to feel like a c-section. I woke up with dull pain on my removal site, was immediately drugged and honestly past that it went smooth. I had incidences of sick stomach but I could drink, had tolerable pain, very little gas. The only site that bothered me was the removal site and a Tylenol handled that. I felt great. That's not everyone's experience though. Just sharing mine. Good Luck and trust us, totally worth it.

    My Dog loves me!

LOVE the fitbit zip. I got it as a gift, it's $50 for the tiny thing. I got an email telling me my battery was low, what battery to buy and how to install it. Pretty cool little gadget. My Sadie ALSO loves finishing my meals. She is so smart she determines when I'm nearing the "that's all I can take" moment and will come stand in front of me waiting. I brought back a burger I ate only 4 bites of...peeled the bun off. She left a trail of lettuce and onion but ate the tomato! She's definitely my trainer and the weight loss is really adding up. Keep up the good work!

    Frustrated with nausea

I went thru that stage too. It was awful. Got a script filled but never used because it seems it decided to turn itself around. I still have days where I'm sick to my stomach, it just goes with the territory I guess. Still worth it though but not so much so at that month it was bad (2 mths to 3). It WILL get better. Hang in there. This to shall pass.
  13. Found a new protein shake at the gas station. They have no sugar and are made from whey, also a milk protein shake. They come from Shamrock farms and being a gas station they are expensive. $2.29 for 14 oz but 30 grams of protein. They only carry chocolate. Fine by me!

    Rockin Refuel

Now my grocery store is carrying it for 50 cents cheaper. They are in the dairy products because they contain milk but are lactose free. I'm drinking one a day and the weight is really starting to drop. It's half my protein for the day and I've struggled with "eating" enough protein. So this is working well. I think I've lost 6 lbs in the last week (75 since April). Two thumbs UP.

    Rockin Refuel

It has milk which has milk sugar. There is no "sugar" in it. The sugar comes from the milk. 9 grams of carbs for half my daily intake of protein? Fine by me.

    Rockin Refuel

Yep that's it. They are good!

    Rockin refueled by shamrock farms.
  19. Had my surgery April 7 th at a Barix Clinic. Could not have gone any better. I had more nauseous than pain. I had a hard time getting in much of anything at first and it became frustrating and overwhelming. I couldn't fathom putting that much fluid down there. Of course I come here and get the comforting "it's normal." Thank God for this group! I stuck with the puréed phase but got mighty tired of cheese sticks and boiled eggs at soft foods stage. I've had no trouble introducing foods back, none have revisited. I avoid sugar at all costs. I even bought sugar free cough syrup and drops! I'm a low carber. I loosely follow Atkins. I don't pay any mind to fat as long as the protein count is high. I eat fruit and nuts. I make a mean black bean chili with jalapeños, no problem. I even put pepper jack cheese on it! I DID have a month of extreme nausea but it finally went away. So I'm here to say, hang in there...things improve. At 4 + months it's finally all clicking together..I've got this. Can't say it wasn't a frustrating time though but you do learn and adjust! 72 lbs gone. Got into a xl shirt...yay!!! Take care and oh, I've swallowed my meds whole since about 2 weeks and I use a straw as well.

    Yesterday I went rogue....

. That's so funny! It never occurred to me we all used a straw for the leak test!!! My NUT said if it didn't cause reflux or gas go ahead.
  21. I hope the photo shows up. 63 lbs in under four months. The ones I'm hiding behind were my largest (26). New ones a 20. Excited about all the 18's I'm collecting!

    Half way there

Thank you!!! SO exciting! It's been tough but the rewards are great.
  23. I Keep thrift shopping. I have so many clothes now I have no where to put them. I still wear my six sizes too big pants and look ridiculous. I know I should donate them but I'm scared. Do any of you feel this way? I bought my first store bought (Kohl's) pair of jeans. Skinny jeans, size 20. They fit great but I lack a full length mirror so I'm sure they look horrible. I have a pile of "later" clothes. I can pretty much eyeball them to guess how many pounds it will take to fit in them. I actually have gotten on a 18 but can't quite get them buttoned. I was sleeved April 7, 2014 and have lost 63 lbs. what do I do with these mountains of huge clothes???
