I am 11 days out and trust me it get Better!! I was crying a lot and feeling really weak. Once you recuperate and start taking in a little more calories you will feel much better. Even my family noticed a big difference in my attitude. Just hang in there

How Much Did U Lose First Week?

Banded 9/14 and have lost 22 lbs since surgery. I know I'm not supposed to weigh that often but seeing I lost motivated me to do better.
  3. My dr said the same thing to me. I went in for my 1 week post op and told him I felt crappy. He told me to go home and eat some eggs lol. I was only supposed to be on full liquids.
  4. There is care credit also.
  5. Congrats on the weight loss! He didn't release me to exercise yet. I really didn't ask. I was really dehydrated so I don't think he would have let me anyways. My port site is really sore too. That's a tricky spot. The first couple days it hurt just reaching for something. Now I am able to sleep on my stomach comfortably. I have a long ways until I reach my goal, about 100 pounds.
  6. I'm doing okay. Down 20 lbs already but I'm still on clears. I had my follow up with him on Thursday and he told me to eat some scramble eggs or something since I was feeling "crappy". I tried eating some soup and then eggs and I got horrible powerful hiccups and had to make myself constantly burp. I called today and they said to stay on clears that I prob need to heal more. Now even my protein drinks and having that affect on me. Have u experienced this? How are you doing? Do you know if they have a support group in Macon?

    Fear Of Failure

I'm also very anxious. I was so excited before I got the surgery and now I am scared. I think I am scared of change. I have always lived my life as a overweight person and I think that was my comfort zone. All these changes seem unpredictable and scary

    It Does Get Better!

It's very comforting to know that I am not alone in doubting my decision. I'm 4 days post op and just feel drained from the liquid diet. Just this morning I was thinking how much easiery life would be today without the band. But I'm gonna keep on truckin. It's good to hear from u guys that it does get better.

    Port Incision

Haven't been able to drink the whole 64 oz. just thinking of broth is making me nauseated. I feel like I drink all day but I still don't get in the required amount.

    Port Incision

I've been having to wear sports bras. They are easier for me to put on. I tried a bra and reaching back to fasten it just stung too bad.

    Where Is Your Port?

Mine is under my left arm right above my left breast. My surgeon said he does all his there because there is more stability in those muscles

    Port Incision

Mine is in the same location as yours. Kinda under my left arm more towards my chest.ine stings if I turn a certain way or try to lift something. I'm post op day three and the stinging isn't so bad but it's def there
  13. I was recently banded on sept 14 and I cheated twice on my Pre op. Besides feeling terribly guilty I was worried my liver wouldn't shrink enough. Came through the surgery with no complications. I do regret the slip ups I had but relievedy surgery was fine

    Rumbly In. . .

I'm post op day 2 and have been good with sf jello and sf Popsicles. For broth I've been draining chicken noodle soup and drinking the broth off that and it's actually good.
  15. Got banded this am. I dont think I was prepared on how bad the gas pains would be. Got chewable gas x, heating pad and been walking a lot. How long did everyone's gas pains last appx?

    Banded Today

Thanks for all the advice and congrats on all of y'all getting banded as well. Have y'all heard of baking soda and water to relieve gas?
  17. Surgery first thing in the Am. Nervous as heck, never have had surgery. My surgeon told me at the Pre-op that he would definitely have some Valium waiting on me lol I guess he could tell I was anxious!

    Lead Us Not Into Temptation.......

I'm sure ur okay. I started my Pre-op today and I don't have the whole protein shake rule. I can eat meat, veggies, and fruit.
  23. Talooka, are you doing the sugar busters diet? If so, how's it going? Haven't had my Pre-op to meet dr Bagnato yet, but he seems like a good choice from the seminar.
  24. I'm a self pay. So I went to the seminar and called the next Monday and we set my date then. It went very fast. I wish my insurance would pay so I could get the nutrition consult to help me through. I think dr Bagnato Is getting a nutritionist in his office soon though. I scheduled my surgery a month out so I could get prepared. I was really impressed with the seminar. I will keep you posted and let you know how the surgery goes. Don't give up hope It WILL happen for you
