I am a 34 year old engaged to be married normal dude. Last year both of my parents passed away and watching them suffer in large part due to their size motivated me to correct my weight issues before I ended up like them. My insurance won't cover surgery so I looked into self pay surgery centers and found Dr Alvarez. I have surgery on Aug 28, 2012. I am hoping to lose a total of 185 pounds (or as I see it) a middleweight UFC fighter.

I played tennis a few months ago and was so sore afterwards that Iiterally couldnt walk for a full day. That was the final straw and prompted me to pull the trigger on the surgery as I had been contemplating it for a while. I love to play all sports...(golf, football, baseball, basketball, tennis, pickleball......and I have stayed away from most of those activities for way too long because of the pain they caused.

I look at this surgery as a new lease on life and I hope to enjoy all the activites I haven't been able to do for years. I have been large since the 2nd grade and have always dreamed of being a normal size and not having to worry about airplane seats and roller coasters.

A year from now I hope to take a plane ride to a place with a lot of roller coasters and have no worries about my size.
