VerticalMorey replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congrats!! I feel you I've had every tropical / regular Popsicle and jellos they ever made sugar free... You will get thee I was sleeved on the 13th and start purée today and full liquids, but I'm a little nervous scared of getting sick -
That does sound delish I'm going to have to try that!

Those are good but have a lot more sugar and a lot less protein than the real Greek yogurts. If its taste I recommend using a sweetner.

Very Irritated And Short Tempered
VerticalMorey replied to KinnymomX3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a son who will be 1 on Tuesday. I sent him to my moms for a couple weeks because I knew I wouldn't be able to handle him especially since I can't bend or lift him. I miss my baby though she brings him by daily so I can see him... -

Pain! Is This Normal?
VerticalMorey replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow no ibuprofen my dr says not right away unless liquid, but in a few months when I can take pills it will be fine.. Things really do vary from practice to practice. Did he say why you couldn't have it? -
Today I purchased the Unjury chicken soup it has 21grams protein, and I got premiere protein shakes from SAMs club they have 30 grams. Tomorrow I start purée and full liquids so we shall see how it goes. I can't wait!!!

My Surgeon told me to stay away from fruit yogurts during my pre-op. I was also sleeved on 8/13 but im still on clear liquids to transistion to full liquids next week. When i was on pre-op i got the plain greek yogurt and added sweetner like sweet n low or splenda to it, an it made the taste better. you can also try some extracts that will help with taste some

Pain! Is This Normal?
VerticalMorey replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am with you I am six days out and still have pain in my incision. Like the other lady said we just had Major Surgery. One thing I will say when the drain was removed it felt a lot better it was a huge relief. Just continue to walk and take you pain medicine. If its still really really bad i would say reach out to your Dr or go to the hospital, better safe than sorry. -
Arghhhh....6 Month Weight Management
VerticalMorey replied to GiGi3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually found my weight management program to be very helpful preparing me for surgery. It was very informative and my dietition and nutritionist would put me on plans to prepare me for what was to come after surgery. Believe me i felt the same way, but i'd much rather me infomred educated and prepared verses just having the surgery and then having to learn what to do and not to do... You will ultimately have to do whats best for you! -
Arghhhh....6 Month Weight Management
VerticalMorey replied to GiGi3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have United Health Care and weight watchers and individual dieting did count for me. with weight watchers your progress is tracked online all i had to do was log onto my online account and show my progress. the purpose of the 6 month program is to track your progress and dcoument a medical advised diet. Through my insurance we have Bariatric Resources who handled everything along with my Dr's office. I would reconmend you call your insurance and see whats offered. I had to submitt 5 year weights and complete the 6 moth program. when i submitted to insurance on june 20th they called me 2 days later approving me and I was givin a surgery date GOOD LUCK! -

10 Days Post Op Not Feeling Well
VerticalMorey replied to gnvpur's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say call your Dr better safe than sorry. I'm 6 days out and my right side where incision is still very sore. That's the side they pulled the stomach out. Just walk and take pain meds I promise it will get better. My drain was taken out before I left hospital but once your dr removes it that area will feel better. I have heard of some people going home with drains I wouldn't worry much but still ask dr about it...feel better -
