2 Month Before And After Photos.
HalfTheWoman replied to traceyinflorida's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Sooo Awesome!!! It feels great doesn't it! I have lost 51 lbs from my highest weight. My profile pic shows my weight difference! My husband says he is shocked when he sees me! I hate having my pic made...the before pic was taken by my niece and posted on FB..which I immediately untagged! So happy I have my sleeve. We only have greater things to come. I can't wait to be able to ride a rollercoaster again. (maybe even wear a swimsuit) -

Multivitamin Making Me Sick?
HalfTheWoman replied to Azemarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Those are the same one I take and they make me sick too! I actually threw mine up so I do still take them but at night after dinner. They still make me nauseous but not quit as bad. I will never take them in the morning again! -
June Sleevers! Hows It Going?
HalfTheWoman replied to petite-size-me!'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved 6/25 and have been eating real food since 7/22 and I am doing pretty good. I eat mostly protein..I usually eat veggies in soups. I don't do the protein shakes very often because they make me sick. If I drink them it's mostly in the evening because it is easier then. I usually eat about every three hours. I have an egg w/cheese for breakfast or no cheese and a 35 calorie turkey sausage. -
I put the powder (1/2 scoop) in my cup add my SF creamer and mix well...then I add the coffee. It is great. I let it cool today and added ice cubes and some Torani SF carmel syrup and it tasted like a Dairy Queen Moolatte!

5 Weeks Post Op And....
HalfTheWoman replied to bethnc1970's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You started out a whole lot smaller than me and that makes a big difference. You are only 6 lbs away from onederland!!! I am 54 lbs away. I can't wait to get there....good job! -
How did they know you had a leak after 5 weeks?
-
I just wanted to do a little happy dance for being 1/3 of the way to my goal! I am 5 1/2 weeks post op and hit my first goal. When I get down 3 more lbs...I get my first little treat! My hubby set the second goal. So down 50 lbs...100 lbs to go! My next goal is to be down 10 more lbs before Labor Day! I love reaching goals. I like to be a winner, I hate losing so that is why being over weight was such a disappointment for me!

Week 17 With Bathing Suit Picture
HalfTheWoman commented on mrsteacher's blog entry in Sleeved by Dr. Kelly in Mexico
I think the swimsuit is so cute! I am going to the beach in a month and not sure what to do about a suit yet..whether to buy one now or try and find one in Sept! If I get one now will it be too big then? -
Are you sure it's not head hunger or indigestion?

Down 50 Lbs Today!
HalfTheWoman replied to HalfTheWoman's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I try to stay under 600 calories a day. For Breakfast I usually have a scrambled egg with cheese. At lunch I have 6 slices thin deli selects turkey (cracked pepper is my fav) and a cheese stick. For a snack I usually have Kroger CarbSmart yogurt or Jello sugar free pudding with 1/2 scoop SimplyRight Protein powder. For dinner I try to cook something good, tasty and low carb. I have tons of recipes I use and found some great ones on worldaccordingtoeggface.com I did the lasagna cupcakes ***ht before last and use my own famous lasagna recipe for the sauce. I use my crockpot just about every day. Then we always add one of the steamers for a side item. Most ***hts I have a snack about an hour or so before bed....I made a low fat sf cheesecake and ate a tiny piece of that for several ***hts (my husbands love it and his piece was anything but tiny) I try to get all my protein in with out making a Protein shake...they make me feel sick and shaky. I also have to take my Vitamins at ***ht after supper...in the morning make me sick. I do swap up my breakfast egg for some organice instant oatmeal in the mornings and had 1/2 scoop of vanilla Protein Powder. I also like to have my coffee with some vanilla protein powder as creamer and I always add splenda! What do you usually eat??? -
I made Shrimp scampi and use Zucchini as my noodles...it was wonderful. I julienned the zucchini and you cook it in a skillet with a little olive oil. I added salt, pepper and garlic powder. It is a family favorite now!

4.5 Months Out,80 Pounds Down!
HalfTheWoman replied to desertmom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Desertmom...I know exactly how you feel...I was banded for 5 years and gained 30 lbs. I have been afraid of failure again...so I didn't really want anyone to know. I am trying to do exactly what my surgeon tells me and so far so good. Thanks for your encouragement! -
They Arent Kidding...
HalfTheWoman replied to mverges's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did it with a big huge sip of water! It didn't come back up but it hurt like the devil. It felt like someone stabbed me in the chest. I take fair size bites all the time and that doesn't seem to bother me. -

For The Slow Losers
HalfTheWoman replied to LadyIvy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You don't seem to be losing that slow to me. You seem to be doing very well! I would also like to lose 15lbs a month but right now I am averaging about 2.5 lbs a week...so I will take 10 lbs a month. I mean...really I will take what I can get. It is frustrating to do all the things we are suppose to do and lose so slow when other lose soooo fast. I have always been a slow loser! Just happy to be a loser now! -
Does anyone on here juice? My husband is very worried I won't get enough vitamins so he juices, carrots, spinach, bell pepper, kale, celery and apple everyday and has me drink 4 oz. I am not sure it hurts and I know it is good for you. I just wanted to know if anyone else does and what you guys think!

How Often Do You Eat
HalfTheWoman replied to SarahG0417's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually eat 3 small meals a day and 2 snacks..but only if I am hungry. I do get hungry because I only eat about 6 teaspoons per meal...always protein first. This morning for breakfast...I had 1 pack of instant oatmeal with soy milk instead of water, and I had half a scoop of protein powder. I ate about 3/4 of it! -
Yeah I saw the diet Coke posts...I think people need to chill out! Doing this makes newbies run away. It scares them off...I know it would me if I was new.

Thanks for all the awesome comments! My husband is very supportive and I am blessed to have him. He is eating what I eat, drinking what he juices and he walks with me every night (we are up to 1.5 miles a day). He just prefers the fresh Vitamins I get from the veggies I am missing at meals. I only drink 4 ounces a day so I don't think I am going overboard, do you guys, and it has helped to keep me regular. It is a little expensive but worth it!

For The Slow Losers
HalfTheWoman replied to LadyIvy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally understand. I had the revision from band to sleeve and I am scared that this surgery will fail too! The band was a nightmare for me..never worked and I had fill after fill. I lost 34 lbs only to gain it back and 30 more. I had the sleeve 6/25 and the weight loss is getting slower and slower and I don't want to fail again. I am doing what I am supposed to do but losing very very slowly! I needed this encouragement!
