It might just be that you need a slight unfill. There is no need to assume worse case just yet. You need to speak to your physician and just discuss what's going on. If it is worst case... it could save your life.

Banded 9/26... down 48 pounds total... about 28 before surgery in the 6 months waiting period and 20 in the 9 weeks since. They want 2lbs per week so I am on goal... even if I forget it sometimes and get frustrated!!

Well... you certainly don't LOOK 54 in your pic!! OK.... so 5'4" 265 and 54 makes your BMR 1854.75 (BMR is about how much your body needs to just keep you alive and ticking in a day.) The Harrison Benedict Equation factors in the exercise. This is where I am slightly skeptic in our world because what some would call "light" exercise can be extremely exertional depending on the person. Any ways... We will use moderate for you (that's what I use for me, too, b/c I can't get to the gym everyday). 1854.75 x 1.55 = 2874.86 calories needed daily... 50% of that is 1437.43 Like I said, I mine is... 1791.8 x 1.55= 2777.29 for a 50% of 1388.65 I have start losing again since I raised my daily allowance to 1200. (Plus up my Water - which I suck at). And regardless of what some paper pushing nurse thinks... I got the advice here, from other Bandsters who have succeeded. I am about a half pound away from my "half-way" mark. I know the other roughly 50 pounds won't be easy, but I am going to do my best to get there!

Do you mind me asking how old you are?? I was looking at your BMR and used my age (38). How much do you exercise? I was also looking at the HArrison Benedict equation for how many maintenance calories you "should" be getting. For example... your BMR was 1925.95... multiply that by 1.35 ( light exercise 1-3 days a week) and you would need 2605 calories a day to maintain weight. Starvation mode kicks in after a sustained period of time below 50% of what your body needs. I know they holler about 800 calories, but again, it isn't a once size fits all plan. Many people here will tell you they need 1200 minimum... heck, even MFP yells if you are under 1200. I try to stick around 1000-1200 a day. Honestly, there are days I slip and eat "bad" things, but I log EVERYTHING. I am trying to address my sugar intake now b/c MFP tells me I am above my allotment often. It's definitely a multi-faceted approach that's necessary. And please, please, please don't think I am "preachy." I am as down to Earth as you can imagine. I just want to help you get this going. BTW... I work in a hospital.... the experience you described is RIDICULOUS!! I am offended for ya!

I would find a new doctor QUICK!! Then I would look for a patient relations dept at UC Davis and make a formal complaint against that practice. I had surgery 9/26 and my 1st fill on Nov 5th. I go back on Dec 6th for another. Granted, my first fill was smaller than "average," but 1cc is better than nothing!! I had the barium swallow as well and they watched real-time what my restriction was. They put in 2cc (average for 1st fill) and had to take 1 out when it should too much restriction. And here's the thing... Unless your nurse HAS her own band, she only knows the clinical side of the experience. While every board has its share of whackado's... the people here are LIVING your life and FEELING what you feel. We are always here for you!! Maybe you need to up your caloric intake... wisely... to see if that helps jump start you. It has seriously worked for me now and again to add some umpf!! If you are too low in nutrients you will sabotage yourself. The power is YOURS. Take it back girlie!! Also, add me in MFP... kck11599...

Well... you shoud have a lot of great options within an hour's drive. My program is "fairly new" and building, but they are taking patients from the other show in town here. Center for Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery 145 West 23rd Street Erie, PA 16503 814-452-7800 I see Dr. Kalim (KA-leem) and really like him a ton!! There is one other doc in with him. I haven't heard much about him good or bad. I would DEF hear the bad tho as I work for the same hospital.
