    Hard knot on stomach?

it's not tender to touch, and i'm not touching or pushing on it. i get sharp pains there when i move a certain way. and it just comes out of no where. it's not a particular way or postition that i move, it's any random change in position. and it always hurts when i bend over.

    Hard knot on stomach?

Omgosh. I'm so glad you posted this. I am 3 weeks out today and have this under my big incision. I didn't notice it before but now I am having sharp pains there (enough to bring tears to my eyes) and its the size of a big gumball. Cheri, you say it's common? With the pains should I call the surgeon's office or is it ok to wait until my appointment next Wednesday? Thanks for the advice.

    Made the "Infamous" Ricotta Bake

I wonder if it would work with cottage cheese? I always used cottage cheese in lasagna. Hmmmm
  6. Hi Stephanie! I still have the pulling and discomfort on my right side where my big incision is. The surgeon told me it's becase there is a suture connected to the abdominal wall that will eventually break away. He said I might even feel a pop when it does but it shouldn't be painful when it happens. And he said it will last about 6 weeks. Maybe the position your in when your sitting at your desk aggravates it more. Hang in there, it will eventually pass. Maybe try some tylenol in the morning before you leave for work?
  7. Omgosh!! My sense of smell is crazy right now! I thought it was just me. I can smell bad breath from somone on the other side of the room! It was so hard sitting in a movie theater yesterday, Lol. I thought NO ONE in the room brushed their teeth. I really hope this eventually goes away.

    Some people here are meanies

I love that I found this sight but is it me or are some people here mean? I am noticing more and more that people answer posts with jugdmental and snippy attitudes. I didn't think that's what this site is all about. Are there other sites out there that are all about sleevers that others like better?

    Some people here are meanies

Wow, thanks for all the posts but I think some people took it too literally. I wasn't talking about reposted topics, I am very aware that this is an opinion forum, I don't get upset if someone doesn't agree with my opinion, and I am not being over sensitive. I was just wondering about other sites. Actually, I don't get upset with any posts and if I don't like what's being posted, I do stop reading them. I was just making an observation and stating "my" opinion.
  14. I live in Canton. Had my surgery an hour away in Cleveland. My son lives in Columbus.

    4 days post op

try flavors that before surgery you would have never drank. i have never been a chocolate person and now i want chocolate. my tastes buds have changed so much (i'm 8 days post-op). i'm also making mine with unsweetened silk almond milk and ice in the blender. hope this helps.

    Anyone approved by CIGNA?

They needed the documentation of me seeing a nutritionist. My PCP saw me for the 3 month supervised diet because the requirements said it has to be supervised by your doctor OR a nutritionst. My advocate got me in that day with a nutrionist and she sent them her report that day. It was weird but it turned out ok. It was the week of Thanksgiving so I ended up waiting longer than a week for a response.

    Anyone approved by CIGNA?

Oh no Ms Jackie! Praying for you!! Hang in there, remember I was denied at first too and then approved. It's like they don't EVER approve on the first try. Keep me updated.
  18. one week already! crazy!

    Anyone approved by CIGNA?

I was approved by Cigna. They require 5 business days for a decision. They said some additional paperwork was needed after I submitted so my advocate sent it that day. (even though she already sent it the first time). It was re-submitted for "reconsideration" and took and additional 5 business days. I had my surgery 5 days ago. They also require a 3 month supervised diet but no documentation of a weight history. good luck!!

    Surgery - December 27th!

ok, next question. (sorry if i'm nagging :/). my nut told me my first priority is to get in the fluids (try to get 64oz, hasn't happened yet), and my second priority is Protein (start at 30gms, increase to 60 then 80, i haven't done too bad). my question is, what about calorie?. i've tracked the last two days since i've been home and haven't reached 400 calories a day. should i be concerned about this? or is this something that comes later when it's a little easier to maintain once i'm off of just fluids? by the way. . . . it's still crazy to me that i can't get in enough calories, considering what i used to eat, but that's a whole different topic. any thoughts? p.s hot tea has been my savior for getting in some of my fluids

    Surgery - December 27th!

i just wanna be "feeling great" like everyone else. i told me husband "its been 4 whole days" and he was like "duh, its ONLY been 4 days". i think i am expecting too much too soon. so i decided to take it easy for a couple more days and just rest. my husband caught me folding the laundry and freaked out on me a little bit, Lol. everyone heals different and i am learning all about patience with this.
