Well, it takes a week or two for your insurance to approve once they have sent in your fulfilled requirements. Then the office will call you to schedule your procedure. They could have squeezed me in within a week and a half... I opted to go in January. They're scheduling 3-4 weeks out at this point (as far as I know). It was longer in my case due to the holidays. Doctors deserve vacation, too.

He is doing my surgery on January 2nd! I love him so far!

Oh, and I'm having surgery at Sisters Hospital in Buffalo, NY by Dr. Joseph Caruana.

Well... I am a bit confused. My surgeon said clear liquids for 10 before surgery. But the nutritionist from his office said I can have 4 oz. of lean protein & 1.5 cups of veggies up until 24 hours before surgery.

Thanks! You too! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I'm nervous about the pre-op diet but only because it begins December 23rd. Hitting me where it hurts - Christmas! Oh we'll. As long as I'm moving forward, right? :]

I can't lie, this has been a concern of mine. I am still pre-op & I have asked myself if having this surgery is worth it if it changes who I am as a person. I have decided to continue in my pursuit despite my fears. It is lack of concern/attention given to your internal person that creates such monsters. If I am already concerned, I can determine the emotional path I allow myself to take and I can control how I interact with people in my life. Or have I already gone crazy? Haha.

I am SO excited to travel after surgery! I will be able to comfortably fit in an airplane seat & buckle without tears and embarrassment.

Wondering if you guys have any favorite protein powders & if there is anywhere online i can get a free sample. What do ya think?
