At the age of 12, I decided to make myself fat because I was being abused sexually, emotionally, and physically. I thought being fat meant being ugly, so I was 200 pounds at age 14. It did not stop the abuse, of course. I went on a diet with my aunt helping me and went down to 142. I gave up because I thought I was still fat, had hit a plateau, and could not lose any more weight. Also, food became an addiction to me. Through the years, I tried many diets. I tried low fat diets, regular diets, exercise, all losing weight and immediately gaining it all back. This went on through my 20's and 30's. I am now 320 pounds at age 42. A year and a half ago, I was going to get my stomach stapled (I forget what that one is called), but decided against it. Now, I am ready and willing to make the changes I need to make. I am hoping for surgery by the end of November. That's it until things progress. Thanks for reading.
