sleevers in Chicago southland

Hello all! I was sleeved 12/10/13, down a total of 98lbs including preop. I consider myself a slow loser but I'll take it over the alternative. I recently found out i am pregnant. About 5 weeks. I am so scared that I am going to stop losing. And I am so scared to gain. We were planning on waiting until next year to try figuring I would be at goal then. My dr also says to try to wait 12-18 months postop before. But it happens when it happens. I guess I just want some info from ladies who have been in this boat. How did it go for you? Did you lose while pregnant, did you gain? How much did you lose before being pregnant and how much did you gain? Was there anything different that you wish you would of done while being pregnant? I started a good prenatl pill that i take 3 times a day. Its nice that it doesnt make me sick. With my daughter the prenatals made me so sick. I am also taking Progesterone at night before bed. it makes me so sick. I get very dizzy, almost feel like i am drunk and i just have to go to sleep about 40 minutes after i take it. Here's to a happy and healthy pregancy and baby! Please note I'm not trying to be debbie downer about it, trust me i am very excited, i am just nervous. timing is off but i am embracing it! thanks in advance to those that respond.

How much magnesium citrate the night before surgery?
ShrinkyDinkMe22 replied to time4me2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only had to drink 1 bottle however I was also on a 2 week liquid preop diet and the day before clear liquids only. I would definitely follow your doctor's orders and drink both. I like the lemon the best. I highly recommend buying the in advance and putting the bottles in the fridge. Good luck! -
QUESTION: How did you survive your liquid diet?
ShrinkyDinkMe22 replied to READY4CHANGE2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was allowed sf jello on my preop liquid diet. I would have that for dinner while the family ate. Some times I just wanted to chew something. -

New here! Never did i ever......
ShrinkyDinkMe22 replied to longtimecoming7's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that is pretty quick. what center did you go to? i also have bcbs of il and my case was submitted on 10/25/12 and was approved on 10/29/12. once you get all the insurance requirements completed then typically the center will send to insurance for approval. then typically the surgeon's office has requirements past that as well. good luck to you! -
Like others said. Once off pain meds for 24 hrs it's ok to drive. Good luck!

8 MONTHS OUT AND PREGNANT!
ShrinkyDinkMe22 replied to ShrinkyDinkMe22's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Congrats to you! If I get any info I will forward it to you. As far as vitamins. I just switched to New chapter prenatal vitamins. They are a little pricey but supposed to be easy on your digestive track. So far I haven't had any problems with them. I also take b12, Calcium + vit d, coqu10, garlic, phytophanare & fish oil. I need to go get a folic acid pill as well. -
I kinda wish bad foods made me sick..
ShrinkyDinkMe22 replied to JessicaAnn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how you feel. I keep saying the same thing I wish I had some negative reinforcement to help me. The only thing I've eaten thus far that's made me sick was not peeling the skin off a cucumber. I wish I had more self control or better didn't push my boundaries to see what I could eat. This is hard. But I wouldn't change it for anything. Down 98lbs! Wouldn't of been able to do that prior to surgery. -

I met my surgeon august 29 2010. Scheduled surgery the middle of October for mid december. I did not have to do a required diet before surgery. -
Best shakes and vitamins for pregnancy?! Newly fertile & Prego :D
ShrinkyDinkMe22 replied to PiggyPantsPaige's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Congrats! I too am newly pregnant. I found prenatal by New Chapter. I bought then on amazon. Prenatal made me sick with my 1st child so I was up for something new. So far I haven't been sick from them. -
Getting pregnant before 12 months post op
ShrinkyDinkMe22 replied to jujubeesmama's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Preferably my Dr wants you to wait 12-18 months postop. I am 8 months postop and just found out we are about 5 weeks pregnant. Called my surgeon he was not mad at all. Said congrats, told me to take my vitamins, get my vitamin levels checked and of course prenatal care. He did say typically they would of liked us to wait, however it was an oopsy. It happens when it's supposed to happen is how I look at it. Good luck to you. Oh in my fb sleeve group we had a girl get pregnant at 6 weeks postop. She is very healthy losing a little and is having a healthy pregnancy. -
NOOO! Sore throat prior to surgery next Monday!
ShrinkyDinkMe22 replied to auntyc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i got sick 11 days before my surgery with a sinus infection. i felt it coming on and called my dr right away and asked for an antibiotic. normally i wouldnt of done that an i would have fought it out for a bit. but i was on a time crunch trying to get my surgery before the end of 2012 and did not want to reschedule. i know mine was a little longer time than yours but it cant hurt to call and ask if you can get some meds or find out what protocol is if you have a cold. -
ive personally never made them. but i know my mom steams them. i say google it . enjoy.
