Body Piercings Anyone?
indigochild76 replied to indigochild76's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow Aries....that's a lot of metal! Lol...I thought I had it bad with my nose, navel, tongue, top of ear (already took out the 3 on each side). Ive had 3 past laproscopic surgeries (2 for female stuff and last one for gall bladder removal). I never took out navel piercing for any of those, even though they wanted me to. They ended up taping it. Just was curious if they were more strict on this one. If had it for 19 years and never taken it out. -

I just wanted to know if anyone else body piercings and what, if anything, their doc/ surgeon said. I'm having my surgery in 4 days and have curved barbell in my navel, nose stud and one in the cartilage on top. At my pre-op the surgeon had me lay down and lift my shirt so he could feel all around my abdomen but he didn't say anything about bellyring and I forgot to ask.

Pre-Op And I Am A Hungry, Hungry Hippo!

Ive was told to avoid Bananas (even though I love them in shakes normally) because they are really high in sugar (which turns into carbs= bad). What I did was get the cut up party platter fruit trays since I can eat up to 1 cup of fruit a day. I have the french vanilla EAS protien shake and I threw in a couple chunks of pinapple and ice in the blender this morning for Breakfast and it was really yummy. -
If I could recommend any bra it would be the Genie Bra (one of those As Seen on TV products) but they really are AWESOME! You buy them based on your shirt size so no having to get -fit- for one. They fit beautifully, support awesome and feel great (no underwire issue). I have always had large breasts (even had a reduction surgey that took off 7 pounds) and this bra is the most comfy bra Ive ever worn.

Hi Everyone! This is my very first post! I have surgery scheduled for August 17th (the day before my husbands b-day). Im feeling a gamut of emotions- happy, excited, nervous about surgery, nervous about after surgery and also curious as to how Im going to do with the Band overall. Ive been a recovered bulimic for 13 yrs and in an attempt to stay recovered have not really dealt with or analysed my eating or body (lest I feel the need to slip back into old habits) so needless to say this processes has brought up alot of stuff --not to mention my poor husband having to deal with this too. He really needs a support group for spouses of people going through this. I am so beyond ready for my life to change and finally have a perm. solution (of course as long as I use the lap band as the tool its meant to be). I have read the book and every handout my TrueResults center has given me. I would like to think Im as prepared as I can be.lol. Does anyone know of a thread or group my husband can look into for support and to help him be as supportive as he wants to be? Thanks!! Fleur
