    Vomiting blood

Hi bowerbird, I have had the same problem of vomitting blood in the middle of night. I finaly got the doctor to put a scope down my throat and takea look to see what was going on. Well this was last week on Tuesday. Got the reports / He found lesions caused by acid reflux which would bleed if strained or if I ate hard food. Changed my diet as he recommended (soft non spicy foods and double dose of nexium to prevent any acid build up) Vomiting blood has stopped since and acid reflux is a lot better. I hope my experince helps you and would advise you get your self checked out. Feb 07 2007 Lap Banded weight 345 lbs present weight is 300 lbs

    Slippage?

:help: I had my surgery on Feb 07 2007. Up until yesterday I felt really restricted and couldn't eat or drink too fast. Yesterday and today it felt like everything went through without restriction. I could drink a whole glass of water in one go without feeling the awfull pain of restriction instead it felt like I had to burp and once I managed that it was clear no pain or restricion / same with eating. A couple of day ago I came down with a stomach virus and was throwing up a couple of times a day for 2 day but havent since than. Has band slipped? (Feels like there is restriction but not much) I dont have pain or acid reflux anymore at all? I havent had any fills yet and have gone from 345LBS to 306LBs as of today. I have had bad breath the last 5 days and when I burp it smell awfull:eek: is it possible that I am experiencing kitosis? Any words of advise from the wise ones out there or anyone with similar experince.
  6. I got it done right in BC. Doctor is competent and well reviewed
  7. Hello to all,I was directed to this site by my doctor who says it is very informative. I agree with him. After reading through the site I was very impressed and was compelled to write on here. I was banded on Feb. 07 2007 and weighed 345 LBS pre-op. I had a complication with internal bleeding after the surgery which required me to stay in the hospital for about 7 day. I still have the band and went through the tightness feeling and swelling that most have experienced. Sleep was hard to come by as I regurgitated a lot for the first 2 weeks with acid reflux. Sleeping on my right side is still difficult as it brings acid to mouth in the middle of the night.Sleeping on my left side is very good and without any problems. Things have since settled well. I have the same bad breath people complain about especially when i burp as it smells like rotten eggs .Checked with the doctor says it is normal. Today I am kind of worried that the band has slipped since i have been coughing a lot from having the flu. I have been able to eat and drink with very minimal restriction which was difficault yesterday, I guess only time will tell if I have had slipage. Well guys here is the real number that I think everyone would like to know. I have lost a total of 38 LBS and now weigh in at 307 LBS. I havent had a fill yet as my doctor thinks that as long as I keep losing weight it is not required. He will do the fill when I stop losing weight. Liquid diet for 3 weeks with home made broth made by a very supportive spouse got me through. I can now eat solids. Will keep posting with results Sorry for the long narrative.
