The pj's are so cute. I am on a half of a very low blood pressure med. Before Lap Band was on 2 whole ones a day. I am fine with that. Have a great time modeling tonight.

Good luck! I am sure it went well. Welcome to your new life. I just went to my cardiologist and he hasn't seen me since 50 lbs. ago and couldn't believe it was me and I am still over 2. It takes more than a day to lose what took years to put on. It isn't a race to see who wins in the end. You are the only winner in your own race. Happy holidays. Arlene

I love hearing stories like yours. Thank you for sharing it. At my last fill 2 weeks ago I thought my weight loss was small and my doctor thought it was great. Have a super holiday season. -
How to add some zing to that clumpy chocolate thing

Hello I am the queen of shakes, well I think so. I put 8oz. of milk into the blender, add my powder, then some decaf instant coffee, a little peppermint extract and fill the blender with ice. I have a small Hamilton Beach blender. I blend until all mixed and it tastes so great! I am not a breakfast food person so i have been having the shakes since March even though I got banded in July. Good luck. -
Hello Lap Banders, I have said before I am computer challenged, or I would re post an article. On Yahoo just now I read that a waiter in CA named a table of 3 women on their check, Fat Girls. How awful is that?? Do they call me and my over weight husband the 2 fatties. Have a great Hanukkah to all who celebrate.

You seem to be doing great. Cucumber skin you can't have. I have them with my salad all the time. For your shakes do you add ice. I put a lot in the blender and it becomes like a McDonald's thick shake and I find that fills me more. The dreaded scale, I am on it so much I can't believe it still works. My son told me to throw it out, I can't it's my friend through good numbers and awful ones. Enjoy your day.

Congratulations!!!!! People like you give hope to people like me. I have just a few pounds to get to 199 and can't wait. Your pictures look amazing.

Are you kidding me with this diet?

You will do great. Your WW friend, good for her. I have a cousin who lost over 100 lbs. on WW and and thinks that way, I can do it anyone can. Except her 28 year daughter has been morbidly obese since birth. Never told no and now must be well over 400 lbs. So everyone needs to MYOB and do what is the best for them. Lap Band works great for me. I am much older than you and it took me all these years to find my new me. Good luck. -
Is it possible to not be eating enough
dylanmiles23 commented on jkevhack's blog entry in jkevhack's Blog
Welcome. My dietitian told me that you have to eat to lose weight. Maybe contact yours to ask questions. That is why they are there. I can email mine and she usually answers within 24 hours. Good luck with your new journey. -
Wonderful!!!!!!!! I live in MA and was told that if you get rashes and have problems, insurance pays for tummy tucks when the doctor recommends them. Maybe ask, it can't hurt. Good luck with your new life.

I totally understand the scale. I am way past monthly's but I had some salted food yesterday and my weight went up a drop. My son told me to throw out the scale, I can't, it's mine! When I did have monthly's I gained a lot of water weight and always held my salt. Maybe next week at this time you will see 196! Good luck.

I am very happy you went to the doctor. That is why he is there. Now you can eat and be happy. Have a great evening.

I agree with you, eat what your professionals tell you. Every one of them is different. I had a fill Thursday and then my doctor had me back to liquids and then mushy, each for 3 days. Other banders have their regular diet the next day. There is one woman, I forget her name, and she told me she had a plateau for many months but lost inches. That made me feel better. You're doing great!

Congratulations!!!!!!! This is the perfect site for support and well wishes. Your children will love all the fun they will have with you without you getting tired.

I think it sounds like the stress of the family and your father. It is flu season, though. Maybe the doctor can recommend something for you. I wish you a better night's sleep. My thoughts are with you.

Craving Popcorn, Is It Ok To Eat ???
dylanmiles23 commented on jkevhack's blog entry in jkevhack's Blog
Very nice of you to raise your grandsons. I understand mental illness, I have a 68 year brother, I am 62, who I help take care of who now lives in elderly housing since our mother is in a nursing home. Bless you, it is not easy. Now about popcorn, I had about 1/2 cup a few weeks ago and chewed real well and it agreed with me. Good luck and let your grandson eat some! -
Congratulations on getting a date. You don't really need much for the hospital. I brought slippers-they give those slipper sox. Bring a tooth brush and tooth paste, deodorant and a hair brush. You go home usually the next day. Bring elastic waste pants and slip on shoes. Nothing special. You will be given prescriptions for liquid meds, make sure you take them. No straws, I haven't been given the go ahead since my banding, 7/30. I really enjoy my protein shakes. I only drink chocolate, add decaf (only) coffee, peppermint extract and lots of ice and it tastes great. I hate breakfast so I have a shake every morning. I just had a fill and my doctor has me on liquids for 3 days, mushy foods for 3 days then back to my regular diet after day 7. It becomes no big deal except when the husband wants to eat dinner out all the time. Good luck, you will do great.

You have given me hope to try Zumba. Thank you. I have always loved dancing, too. My music teacher was mean to me like you dance teacher to you. I loved singing and didn't know I sucked at it and my 3rd grade teacher told me not to sing when the class sang. Teachers can be so mean and they scare us for life and don't even know it. I am glad you now teach the class!!!!!!!!

Wonderful!!!!!!! That is the best number to see. I hope I see that number by next week.

I went to the doctor Thursday for my second fill. He is a very important person in my life. I told him all about this wonderful support site and great people I have met. He thinks it great. I also asked about how big my band is and how many cc's he puts in and he asked why and I told him people on this site people talk about it. He didn't think it was necessary to tell me. Should I have pressed him for this? Being on a liquid diet after the fill, I have lost a lot of weight since Thursday, around 5 pounds! Last night I saw my new grandson, Max. He is very cute for a new born. Max is my 3rd grandson, no girls, yet. It is snowing lightly in Boston-ugh! I hate snow and winter. Have a great Saturday, all.

Welcome to the blog. Sorry to hear about your father and Nana. You look amazing and you will get back on track. Everyone on this blog is very supportive and we will all cheer for you!

YES!!!!!!!!!! it is worth it. I am very proud of you. At least the daughter is honest that having surgery is not for her.
-
good luck! It is the best thing I ever did, but I was almost 61 when I was banded. I failed at so many other diets during my kids childhood. Being able to play with your children and be fit is important for you and them. The liquid diet is not so bad. I got a fill Thursday and my doctor has me on liquids for 3 days and mushy foods for 3 days after each fill. You do lose a lot of weight that way. The reason for the liquid before the surgery is to make sure your liver is not fatty or they can not do the surgery. I don't understand it all but that was said at a meeting. I go to almost every support group meeting at the hospital every month and talking to others to great support and you learn from each other. Good luck-you'll be happy with the new you and new clothes in smaller sizes.

Hi Call the doctor asap. This does not sound normal. It's great to lose weight but it has to be healthy. Good luck.
