Welcome to the best site evea! I am Boston, so yes we talk like that. No 'r' in our alphabet. I went to the BI, Boston but use Milton Hospital. I don't know any doctor's in Worcester's area. I started by going to their information meeting which is monthly and then I go to their monthly support groups. People go to the support meetings before and after surgery. Does UMASS medical have a weight loss center? Good luck with your new journey. Best thing I did last July.

I agree with you. As for losing weight slow now, me too! I had my last fill the beginning of February and have loss less than 10 since then. My next appointment is in 3 weeks. But remember we are both thinner now than 1 year ago. Our clothes are smaller, too.

It?s my one week bandversary
dylanmiles23 commented on LadyDiva618's blog entry in LadyDiva618's Blog
Wonderful on your 1 week! For your up coming birthday, how about a buffet of salad ingredients , fresh fruits and some cold chicken, shrimp or other protein you can eat and everyone can make their plate and enjoy "your" foods. For carbs you can serve pita breads, wraps so everyone can have something they enjoy. I love party planning. Desserts can be more fruit, SF fudgicles and Popsicles. And small cup cakes and you can have a bite. I hope I helped you. -
Hello, I thought I would share what I have instead of the dreaded Popsicle. I buy Edy's, Outshine fruit bars, SF. I think they taste the best but do have a few more calories. I live south of Boston and all the stores carry Edy's but only one sells these. The flavors are: black cherry, strawberry kiwi and mixed berry. I would love to hear if you eat these and what you think of the taste, also. Happy Hump Day tomorrow. Arlene

I started the gym in December, out of shape, and old. (62). I do the recumbent bike. I started at about 5 minutes and built that up to 20-30 minutes. I also so some upper body machines that hopefully help with my bad back. My husband use to go to the gym with a body builder so he knew the machines. Does your gym have classes? I have not done any yet. My gym membership came with one trainer session, but I haven't use it yet. Afraid, I guess you can say. Good luck with trying the gym. Go slow and build it up.

Chance of Working Again After "Total Failure?"
dylanmiles23 replied to abraxasbear's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations on asking for help. Call the doctor, he/she has seen it all. I watch too many daytime doctor shows and they say nothing is embarrassing to them. Call you'll feel better. Call your dietitian, too. Go to the monthly support meetings again, I love them. Tonight, throw out all your 'danger' foods. Out of sight out of mind. Good luck and call tomorrow, please! -
that is so sweet!! Happy Birthday. I didn't find this site until after the band, either. This site is the best ever.

2 things I would in the morning. Call your doctor and dietitian. They know everything more than anyone else. Maybe get out your stage 3 or 4 diet and restart from there. Are you exercising at all? Write down or record all your food intake. All these can help you get back to your Green Zone. I hope I helped some. Good luck with this.

WOW-meds can do a job on people. My husband has very mild diabetes and one med made his sugar go over 500 and need 6 shots a day. Off that med and now takes 2 pills at dinner. Glad you're feeling better. By the way-in your picture-you look 'f' amazing. -
Banded 3/1/13; Port replaced 5/3/13
dylanmiles23 commented on Dennise's blog entry in Dennise's Blog
Sorry to hear you had to have replacement surgery. But then your doctor seems to be very aware and that is super. Good luck with your new port and journey. -
My brother and sister-in-law are never without the camera and they don't care what size you are. My SIL always says one day we will only have pictures. She is an only child and her mother died 20 years ago in her early 60's. I know about hiding. But I do have plenty of befores, just don't know how to post.

Happy to hear you're recovering. The shoulder pain may be from the gas and a heating pad helps. Sorry to hear it's cold where you live. I thought 58 in Boston was cold today but some where it is always worse. When there are sports games on tv they show beer and food, because men like that. They don't want to see Tampex commercials. Show Victoria Secret, and then that will get the men to stop eating. Feel better.

First, congratulations on your up coming wedding!!! Maybe go back to your diet book you were given and start from the beginning and exercise. Being nervous about the wedding could be it also. Take a deep breath and have a shake for at least one meal a day and remember to chew chew chew and make your meals last 20-30 minutes.

I understand your thoughts. I had the surgery at 61 1/2 and wish I knew about the band many years ago. The best thing I did for me and everyone else involved in my life. Yesterday I went to my PCP and she said without all my fat she can hear my heart mummer better. (I see the heart doctor next month.) Have you been going to the support groups and when there listening to others and asking questions? I love my meetings. I have learned a lot there and I also noticed everyone loses weight at different paces which helps me. I have slowed down a lot in the past few months but I am still happy with my loss. Today my brother sent me a picture he took from Passover, in March. Boy I look great compared to last year at my highest. I would share the picture but don't know how to. Just remember do the BAND for you! and no one else. I don;t take any more meds except vitamins and minerals. I was taking about 12 different ones before and I don't snore anymore either.

Reaction to whey protein
dylanmiles23 replied to imsunj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before I left the hospital they gave me Carnation Instant Breakfast high protein drink. There are 2 kinds, just make sure you get the higher protein one. Good luck but calling the dietitian is the smartest since every doctor has their own 'rules'. -
I didn't even open it. These spammers are pieces of **** for invading our wonderful WLS site.

Hi, I have brown rice all the time. I chew chew chew. Yesterday I had a Chinese luncheon special and I get the brown rice and I also buy the microwave small ones from Uncle Ben's. I have no problems with them.
