Hi I am James New to this forum....

Hi and welcome to the best site ever!!! I didn't find this site until after my surgery and I never researched anything. My lung doctor told me you are going to this meeting (he made the appointment) and told me, you are getting the band. Best thing to happen to me. Tomorrow is 1 year and I am healthier and happier because of it. If you are bad with your food choices like even drinking and eating together, then whose fault, not the band. The doctor's office and dietitian will have their own rules and requirements as every one is different. Friday I will be getting a fill and my doctor has me on liquids for 3 days and then mushie foods for 3 days then back to my normal foods. Other doctors are different, so just remember we can all try to help you but listen to your doctor's advice. What state/country are you from? I am from the Boston area. We are all from around the world and it's great. Arlene -

Got to love the confusion about 'ideal weight'
dylanmiles23 commented on lellow's blog entry in lellow's Blog
I had set a goal of 170 and when I got to the 190's I decided maybe 150 would be nice. At my last doctor's visit he said I lost 60% of my BMI and that went to my head, for all the wrong reasons. The doctor said if all his patients lost 60% of their BMI he would be thrilled. I said no to a fill that day and since then I have not lost one ounce but gained a few pounds because I fell back to my old **** ways of having ice cream and other foods that aren't healthy choices. I see the doctor Friday and yes, I am getting a fill. Tomorrow is 1 year for me and I feel wonderful but need to be thinner. 43 years ago, right before I got married I was 144 and I looked good then and have never seen that number since and I was 19 then. Do what you want with your numbers and be happy with you! -
Happy Birthday-to you!!!!!!!!! As for people looking at you in a bikini, there is always someone who looks worse than you. Been there, seen it all. I have always done the compare looking. Or if it really bothers you that much, wear a sexy one piece. As for being 45, you're healthier this year than last year and that adds years onto your life. So you are just beginning.

You're doing super. When you start any new way of eating you get head aches from cutting out carbs. I learned that one over 25 years ago. When walking around a zoo you don;t realize how much walking you do and it's great exercise.

I Need A Fill

You can't eat with wet nail polish. I learned that over 25 years ago. After your nails are dry you forget about food. I never allow food in my bedroom so that was always a good place to read or watch tv. Good luck you will survive. -

Sorry to hear all this but I am done with all that!! I would have thought "In the Powder Room" topics could help you. Feel better. Sometimes after surgery your first period is like the cleaning out of the bad. -

Question about pre-op diet and exercise
dylanmiles23 replied to bsellis's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on your new journey. You're doing everything that is ok. Protein is the most important thing to have first. Just follow your doctor and dietitian's rules. Every one has their own. Remember to drink water, Crystal Light, zero calorie drinks. I have around 10-12 8 oz drinks a day. I am a tea drinker. Also, SF popsciles are great to have. I like Edy's the best. Good luck! -
Very good job. I don't tell anyone how much I have lost or how much I want to lose. My business. My husband and this site knows, only and it will stay that way. Just stop sharing the numbers and that way no one can say anything.

To quote CG's husband, Woman Up. If you want it that bad you will be good. I was perfect because I was totally afraid of what could, would happen if I did wrong. Not worth it. Maybe you are just not ready for the band at this time. Call your doctor's office and maybe they have someone you can talk to about all this. The doctor's staff have seen and heard everything, you are not alone. When I got the band, I stopped all my prescriptions and I took a lot of them. Now it's vitamins and minerals. Well I do take Colace in the am and Miralax in the pm because I have BM problems, but that was also before the band. I am not trying to be mean, just honest. Good luck. Tomorrow will be better, if you want it to be. Arlene

Hi everyone, I just got the new Prevention in the mail and they had an article about adult acne. I am almost 63 and still get the occasional pimple. In the article it talked about too much milk and the sugars in milk. I have a protein shake every morning with 8 oz of fat free Lactaid milk. I then investigated other milks and coconut milk has no sugar and only 45 calories. Has anyone used coconut milk in their shakes? I also looked at almond milk but it does have some sugar. Anyone use this? Thank you for the advise. Maybe one day I will just have wrinkles and no more pimples. Which is worse? Arlene aka "Eye Candy"

I have never thrown up but when I eat too fast it gets stuck.Today I went for lunch and was eating a really good burger, too fast, and had to go outside and walk a little. I burped a lot and felt better. On the way home from doing errands I had some home made potato chips (from lunch) and had the excess saliva. Awful. I guess they just didn't agree with me. My husband thought the grease. I was always a very fast eater and really after one year you would think I would get the message. The BAND still works.

Wow very fast with your appointments With the pre op diet I loved and still love my Edy's Popsicles. They have 2 different ones. The ones I like have the kiwi ones in the box. They are SF and much tastier than the real Popsicles brand good Luck with everything. I didn't tell many people. I don't tell anyone except my husband and this site my weight loss or my weight. That seems like a long time to wait. Have your doctor call for a sooner appointment. You may get seen next week. Good luck!
