Pre-Op diet why do I feel guilty??

No one is perfect but we all try. Just trying to do good will be great. I'm sure all the doctors have heard every story and they will hear more about what went wrong. Tomorrow is a new day. I just had a cheese roll that looked so great in the store and it wasn't great but I ate the whole thing. I never should have bought it and eating it was even worse or the other way around? Tomorrow is a new day to try to be better. Now smile and enjoy your protein shake in the morning. Arlene
  2. I can feel mine after 1 year if I press on it.

    Breathing trouble

I can't believe that a surgeon wouldn't have someone on call, weird. Maybe call your nearest hospital and ask they know about the band and tell them what is wrong. Good luck.

    Stalled: :(

Sometimes you lose more inches than pounds when exercising. Do you take your measurements at all? Are your clothes getting bigger? As for fast food, that is really a no-no. Maybe work on that goal. Good luck.

    Breathing trouble

Congratulations on getting the band. Yes, call the doctor, ASAP! When you can't walk to the bathroom, something might be wrong. My own rule is, when in doubt, call the doctor. Mine has someone on call 24/7.

    2 days from surgery!!!

not chewing for a long time is hard. That was the one thing I did miss. Losing a lot of weight with the pre op diet is great. You may have a weight gain after the surgery because of the gasses etc. Don't let this bother you. We have all been there. Congrats! on quitting smoking. They say quitting and dieting together is very hard. I never smoked so I don't know. Good luck with your surgery. We are all here if you need help, questions answered or just vent. Arlene

WOW! You look great now. I had never seen your before picture. Keep up the amazing work. I did see your before picture in a white dress.

    curious

My wonderful home made recipe: 8 oz FF milk (I switched to almond, unsweetened, vanilla) 1 scoop Body Fortress (chocolate), a little decaf instant coffee, a little peppermint extract and tons of ice and it's super thick like McDonald's. I have one every morning since March, 2012! I am not sick of them. Body Fortress is around $16. at Walmart. I have a small Hamilton Beach blender that is also the drinking cup. I have ice cube trays that make very small cubes and I use a whole tray. Bon Appetite!

    A Happy Memory

Kids tell the truth. Sometimes not nice things. My son became a wonderful father to a 6 1/2 year son (now 13 1/2) and being that my son is obese, Matt was taught at 6, never say anyone is fat, large etc. That young lady was taught correctly, Princesses come in all shapes and sizes, it's the dress that makes them stand out.

4-1/2 months of calorie counting. Let's look at the numbers

Johnny-you're great! You make me laugh all the time. Do you do stand-up? You and Lisa Lampanelli would be great together talking about your WLS. She had the sleeve and you the band. Have a great day. I hope you make it to 50!!
  12. i wear a Fitbit and record all my food, Water and activities on the computer and or iphone. I just recorded my dinner-WOW! I over ate bread dunked in oil. My fault. Welcome back and stay in touch. Arlene

    Tomorrow is the DAY!!!!

As long as you tried to be perfect you should be fine. I was perfect because I so afraid of messing up everything. Try to relax, take a bath, don't think of tomorrow as a surgery day, think of it as your new journey day and the wonderful time you will have following the yellow brick road to the end. Good luck and keep in touch. Do you have a heating pad for the gas pains? That was the worse pain I had, also walking around helped. Arlene

    I hate fake people!

Sorry to hear about your friend's fire. As for your co-workers, they are co-workers, not friends. People are with their co-workers more than anyone else in their life yet they don't understand the bonding sometimes. Very sad for them. Meanwhile, raising money for the fire victim was great and must have made you feel wonderful. NSV!

    hiatal hernia

I had mine fixed at the banding. Also my stomach was in the wrong place and that was moved too. I took 6 pills a day to eat because of both of these problems and since the surgery have no more troubles and no more pills. Good luck with everything.

Where is my restriction?? 6 weeks post op ... so sad

Everyone is different with their weight loss. I have been around the same weight for 4-6 months but I am fine with that. With the band you lose slower than with the other 2 WLS. That was one of the reasons I chose the band and also because I didn't want my insides cut or removed for good. Maybe talk to your dietitian for help with your eating.

Help -- need ideas -- plugged in the AM

Sorry to hear you're having problems. In the morning call the doctor ASAP. They are the only people who have the real answers and can help you. My doctor has someone on call from his office 24/7, does yours? Feel better.

    weight lifting

I am watching a repeat of the Doctors. They have a woman who weight lifts with her vagina. If you go to the Doctor's web site you can watch the video. TMI for me. How gross is that? Just thought I would share today's grossness with everyone.

    hair loss

Sorry about your hair loss. I take Biotin 5mg every day. It helps with hair and nails. I get mine from Bariatric Advantage. They are capsules but being that they make all their products for WLS they go down very well. I buy about 5-6 different vitamins and minerals from them. I did have a small section of hair thinning. I didn't know until my husband said something while I was getting a haircut. My stylist had class and wasn't telling me.

    Loss of restriction

Sometimes people just stop eating after 20 minutes. Are you putting too much food on your plate? I have under 2cc's in a 10 band after 1 year and I usually do great. Maybe talk to your dietitian for eating advice. Are you having enough protein as your first food item? I try to have a salad every day an hour before dinner to make sure I get some veggies into me. It really fills me and makes me eat less at dinner time.

BIG exercise NSV and breaking the mental barrier :)

Good for you and your NSV!! I love your father's quote. I hope you don't mind but I am going to use it, too. Keep up the super work you're doing.

    No restriction. Damage?

I would talk to your doctor before you get another fill. I was banded last July and with 3 fills have less than 2cc's. I see my doctor every 2 months. Each doctor is different but really, talk to him first. Maybe also see your dietitian and see where your eating can be in more control. Good luck.

Had my lap band a week ago

When you can have mushie foods they sometimes included applesauce. Just follow the doctor's rules, your doctors. How about sugar free popsciles. I have them every day, still. I love them. It is considered liquid but I sort of chew them. When you make a protein shake, freeze it and have it like ice cream. Good luck with your new journey.
  24. Thank you for sharing your story. I am sorry you got so sick. I wish you a lot of luck with getting back on track. Please keep in touch. We are all here to help you if you need it Arlene
