I was too afraid of what could go wrong if I did not follow the rules. Never once did I think of eating or drinking something that was not on my list. I knew post-op was not forever. Maybe try a little harder. Do something that takes your mind off of food. 2 weeks after getting the band, I was still on liquids, it was my brother's birthday. He is mentally challenged and doesn't know about the band, I took him out for a steak dinner and had a glass of iced tea. I watched as he ate, my husband ate and you just do what you have to do. Suck it up.

I was at my support meeting last week and my dietitian (my 3rd one) does not believe in eating everything. My 2rd dietitian told me nothing is off limits. Same surgeon just different staff.(different hospitals) I do eat bread.

Gaining fast, stretched pouch???

Sorry to hear you're going through this. Maybe go back to your dietitian for food help. There have been some people who have had the sleeve but only because of band troubles. Maybe find a hobby to get your mind out of the kitchen. I play poker on line every night. I wish you luck. -
You're doing great. We have all had the pain and gas. Did you get pain meds from the doctor? Many years ago I had surgery and my PCP's nurse told me to stay ahead of the pain by always taking the pain med every 4 hours? or so and don't let yourself get into the pain mode. After the band I slept on my right side with a pillow. Recliners are great if you have one, too. Enjoy your new life and journey.

Good luck tomorrow!!! Wonderful blog from the heart. Just by reading your words I have a lot of faith in you becoming a success story. Take before pictures and measurements, I never did and regret it. Arlene -
Never too thin or too rich!

you're great with your advice.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you have someone to be with you and drive both ways. Good luck with your new journey.

Good luck tomorrow. The Lap Band is the best thing I did for me and the world.

I use only chocolate Body Fortress whey protein. I use 8 oz FF milk (unsweetened vanilla Almond) a little decaf instant coffee (kills all after tastes) a little peppermint extract and tons of ice. Makes the best thick shakes ever!! I have one every morning for breakfast and never an after taste. Good luck.

Call the insurance company and tell them your situation and ask what do you suggest I do. Put the ball in their court (for a change). Good luck with everything. -
Average Fills to Green Zone????
dylanmiles23 replied to NewMeDebbie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doctor is very conservative with fills. I have had 3 for a total of under 2cc's. Because I have lost 60% of my BMI he is thrilled with me. I see him in 3 weeks and I want another fill because lately I have been eating too much, sometimes and my weight has been the same for about 5-6 months. Like people on this site say, every doctor is different and they all have their own fill rules etc. -
Me again. I just told my husband and he once said to my aunt, who always had comments about everything especially weight, he said, I can always lose weight but you will never change. my oldest son was there and couldn't believe what was said.
-
good for you. I wish I had the balls to say that.
-
My weight has stayed the same, 3-5 pounds since May (I think) but my doctor is happy with my weight loss of 60% of my BMI. I have an appointment in 3 weeks and plan on a fill, have not had one for many many months. I understand where you are coming from. I don't know about you but I don't exercise enough at all.
-
You are doing amazing and that is a first. My scale (digital) is always less than anyone's.
-
Totally understand. I just had the Jewish New Year and someone said to me, you have no food on your plate. I said I have more than enough. People keep asking how much I lost and when I say, I don't share that information the looks are priceless. Keep up your wonderful work and F**K everyone.

went to dr for fill very disapointed :(

Sorry to hear you're having problems. My question is: Am I the only person who only sees their surgeon for all fills and doctor appointments? A few of my visits I had a full MD training to do WLS and he never did my fills, just watched and listened. Maybe ask for a doctor and not a nurse. Sorry nurses but you are not trained in every thing but you are usually better than doctors. -
Another embarrassing subject.....Diarrhea!
dylanmiles23 replied to mrsto's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had mine removed 38 years ago and for many years had diarrhea. Now I am the opposite. Every day I take colace for soften and Miralax to go. Weird how bodies change over the years. Call your doctor and ask for advise and help. -
Sketchers really looked great but they don't make size 12.

I have had mine since December and unfortunately I have never hit 10,000 steps. I get to 5000 on a good day. Only 3700 so far and the day is almost over. It is a great tool to move your body.
