I have the same as you after a fill. I don't mess with doctors orders
-
Sorry to hear you are having awful problems. Maybe call the doctor and see him/her ASAP or find a new doctor. Feel better.

My doc said, "Let's do this!"

Congratulations and welcome. The band is the best thing I ever did for me. As far as pictures, you're right, I don't try to hide anymore. Still not thin but I am thinner. -

I I buy soy chips in cheddar cheese flavor. I love them. I just bought and tried (OMG!) chocolate mint soy chips. My husband doesn't trust me eating just a few. I don't blame him.

Good afternoon. I am watching the Doctor's on tv right now. They just had on a couple that had by pass surgery together. In a little over one year she lost 95 pounds and he lost about 190. The wife said it is a tool. She is right. I hope they keep up the good work. The Doctor's gave them a year's membership to a fancy health club/gym near them. That helps. One of the doctor's said that WLS is not for everyone. He is right. We know that because of the mean bashers. Maybe bashers need to look in the mirror and blame themselves for messing up. (see I can use nice language). Enjoy your day. Arlene

I agree with the 2 of you. If you hate what someone wrote in a newspaper, do sit through the whole story, no you move on. TV shows, the same, turn off the horrible show. We are the USA, freedom of speech and freedom to move on to the next.

I was never massive but wore a 42C and now 36/38 B. I am still not near my goal weight either. Maybe you will get smaller. I got measured at the Hanes outlet store.

Long-time bandster

Thank you for sharing your story. We all have our ups and downs and I enjoy hearing about all of them except for the bashing of the band. I love mine and I am so much healthier because of it. Have a great evening. -

Worst decision of my life - removed & still handicapped & chronic pain
dylanmiles23 replied to Megdal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Me again. About 3-4 years ago my dermatologist didn't like a mole that was under the belly roll/fat whatever obese people call it. I went to a huge Boston hospital to have it removed. It was the size of a dime but to remove it properly, the incision was about 4". Well the incision got infected and turned into MRSA. I was on antibiotics for about a month until they got the right one. My husband would clean the incision with saline 2-3 times a day and apply some sh*t on it. That was a nothing mole. The Band was major surgery for me. I had a hernia and my stomach was in the wrong place. So technically I had 3 surgeries in one and I did great-WHY?? because I followed my doctor and dietitian's rules. If something did go wrong I would deal with it but not tell the world not to get the band. . My oldest sound was born chicken breasted. Heart in the wrong place etc. He had to have his breast bone broken to repair the problem at 2 1/2. My husband asked the surgeon at Boston's Children's Hospital, what are the risks. His answer was, you can die crossing the street. Or since I am from Boston, go watch the wonderful Boston Marathon and get killed, lose a leg or legs etc. Please try to understand we all care about the good, band and ugly (great name for a movie), but don't go bashing our new found lives and happiness. Welcome to the greatest site, support system, I think, ever. I have had the band since July, 2012 and love it! Wish I was younger than almost 62 when I got it. Having a supportive husband means everything. I have one. Some people tell everyone about the WLS and others tell no one. I told some, mostly very close family and friends. I son't share with any of them how much I have lost. I can't handle the, you weighed how MUCH! That is me, not everyone. You will learn great and bad things here. Having a great doctor and great staff is important. I go to my monthly support groups and enjoy them. My husband usually goes with me. If you have any questions, no matter what they are, ask. Arlene

My weight has been with 2-5 pounds since May! I have not had a fill since March and have an appointment in 2 weeks. I am getting a fill then. I have less than 2 ccs in my band. My doctor goes very slow. He is thrilled with me because I am down 60% of my BMI. Each doctor is different. Good luck and don't worry. Some people report that it takes a long time to get to the "green zone". -
Pre-Op Diet Tips

I love Edy's sugar free popsciles. I buy the ones that have the Kiwi flavor in the box. They have a little more calories but the taste is super. Also to get your mind off of food, polish your nails. You can't eat with wet nails. I have been that one for about 30 years. Good luck with your new journey. -
Good luck. I did mine in the hospital. I failed and was given a CPAP and couldn't sleep with it. I tried for many months. After the Band, I no longer snore!! I do wake up a lot because I over drink at night and have to pee all night.

I have had 3 different dietitians. Same doctor, though. My second one, Katie, told me around 90-100 grams. My present one, Melissa, said around 60-70. Katie had different thoughts on everything, like there are no, no-nos on any foods, just use judgement. Melissa, says there are a lot of no-nos. I never know but I follow my own rules. I had a wonderful pot roast for dinner. Did not go over board. Protein is the main item to fill you up. I have about 40-50 grams in my protein shake and that keeps me good for around 3-5 hours.

Very nice to hear you're alive and banded! I just read both of your blogs. Being banded made my health take a complete turn around for the better. I am off all my pre-band meds!

You write the best and funniest blogs. Thank you. You don't hold back with your thoughts. You must make your wife/partner laugh daily. Have a great day and welcome to onerland!!!! If you ever come to Boston, I would love to meet you. I don't golf but Cape Cod has golf almost year round. Arlene

Full of S*H*T!!!

My doctor gave me 2 prescriptions. Colace, (liquid) I put in my protein shake every morning and Miralax (powder) I put in my hot tea every afternoon. Nothing like a good BM to make you feel better. -
Holidays are like every other meal. Do you best. Have a small taste if you can't live without the item. I am Jewish and 2 months after my band last year I had the Jewish New Year. I ate what I could. Thanksgiving, the same. I do remember Thanksgiving, eating too fast and had to get up and walk a little. I found with turkey I did have to use gravy. My dietitian approves of gravies and sauces to help when eating. I had a very small taste of stuffing. As for pies, I hate pies, so that was never a problem. I had fruit for dessert. And if all else fails, on Friday, November 29th, it is a new day, and start over. As for Thanksgiving, it is the first night of Hanukkah and my grandson's 1 st birthday the 29th.

Congratulations!!! My surgery time was around 2pm and I was taken in the OR at 7pm. The person before me (Sleeve) had complications. Relax and enjoy your new journey.

Hi Sylvia, Great name, my mother's, too. I just remembered when I started my long journey it was very long. I went to my first meeting October, 2011. Because of my age and the hospital being taken over by a large Boston one I was not banded until July 30, 2012. That was 9-10 months from beginning to end. I survived. Best 9 months other than my 2 son's pregnancies. Good luck, we are all here for you. Keep us posted.

Worst decision of my life - removed & still handicapped & chronic pain
dylanmiles23 replied to Megdal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My 2 cents. Could it have been the doctor and not the band's fault? About 25-30 years ago a cousin (she died from cancer) had by pass and the doctor f**ked up big time. It was a big Boston hospital, also. I feel very sorry for your health problems but all mine are gone-thank you Band!
