I slim a few times a month. Eating too fast does it. It was gross. I walked around my house for about 10 minutes until I burped a few times and felt much better. My ribs got thrown out Monday night because of this and I was pissed. They tasted so good. We all do it.

I want it out! Frustrated and depressed...
dylanmiles23 replied to duckydoom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry to hear about all your problems. Happy you went to the doctor. I am not an expert but why can't a new band be put in? I don't know enough about this. You do hear about people having the sleeve not by pass as the new WLS. Carnie Wilson had the band after by pass which seems weird but Hollywood money buys things. Good luck and feel better. By the way I love my band. -
Interesting program on WLS tonight

I watched it. Didn't love it. I felt bad for the obese women going with men who only wanted obese partners. A person no matter their size or shape has feelings. I have heard of women losing the excess weight and the men dumping them. -

They say 1-2 pounds a week is great. . You didn't gain it all in 4 months. Be patient. I have been around the same weight for 8-10 months. It's not the end if the world. Maybe exercise more. Are you losing inches? Sometimes they are more important than scale numbers. Good luck

dylanmiles23 replied to bmomma2323's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you that was great. I had the band 1 1/2 years ago and I am from 190-195 and my doctor is thrilled with that. I would like to lose 40-50 more but I am not perfect. I am happy just like you. I am older , 63. -
My decision for Lap Band!
dylanmiles23 replied to Nettyinlacey's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good for you having a wonderful mother to help. I love my band. About 4-5 months before the surgery I started the shakes for breakfast. So by surgery I was down 28 lbs. I have totally improved my health. Good luck with the new you and your journey Arlene -

Was today the bad eating day? I was so bad today also. Tomorrow is a new day. I had too many wonderful hand cut fries, a few bites of cake and some ribs after I ate dinner. Have a great Thursday Arlene -

you look amazing, good for you. It is gross but my stomach makes noise too and I thought I was the only one with this problem. Thank you for sharing. -
Just made the decision

Congrats on your new journey. I love the band. I have had it for 1 1/2 years. I was almost 62 when I got it. My life is so much better. It is a tool and my tool reminds me to eat slow and small amounts -
I had the band July 2012 and have a shake every morning. They fill me for 3-5 hours. I use a lot of ice so they are very thick. As for meat I can only have ground beef or filet mignon. I eat veal chops and lamb and baby back ribs. Very tender chicken at home. I buy Bells and Evans only. I eat salmon a real lot and shrimp. I am from Boston and lobster is a staple here and I can't chew it anymore. Good luck.

It takes sometimes a few weeks for the fill to take. I have had 3-4 for a total of 2.2 cc. I was banded July ,2012. My doctor is thrilled with my weight loss and said if I stay where I am now for life he would be thrilled.

For my shakes I have a scoop of chocolate, a little decaf instant coffee , and a little peppermint extract. I use 8 oz if milk and I add tons of ice. It becomes very thick like McDonald's The coffee and peppermint kills all after tastes.

"Lap Bands are becoming obsolete"

I agree with you about lazy doctors and having my insides cut up or removed. -
First fill tomorrow. Any tips for me?
dylanmiles23 replied to Cat225's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When I get a fill I am on liquids for 3 days, mushy 3 days and then back to my regular foods. Sometimes it takes a few weeks for the fill to kick in. I have 2.2 or 2.4 total I have had 3-4 fills over 1 1/2 years. Every doctor is different. Good luck. Maybe have 6 small meals instead of 3 a day. Are you getting in enough protein? I have 80-100 gm a day. -
How do you balance your social life?
dylanmiles23 replied to Shea_Shea's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I eat out at least 6 meals a week. I have no problems and order correctly. I don't drink at all though. Never any beverage with food either. -
The WL Center wants me to have the sleeve.
dylanmiles23 replied to Lovely Lady's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I haven't seen you around lately. How are you doing ? I know I only wanted the band. No major removal of my insides. I know of about 6-8 people that had by pass and after around 8ish years they are all huge again. Maybe that can happen with the band but I know that if I over eat I get sick. -
Protein / protein drinks?
dylanmiles23 replied to nolookinback's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My dietitian gave me a list of brands. Didn't you get one? For bars I buy Cliff with 20 g of protein. For powder I buy Body Fortress on chocolate and that has around 30g of protein in 1 scoop Chicken is great for protein. I also eat a lot of salmon and ground beef. Good luck -
I love your advice all the time. Thank you I always say, when on doubt call your doctor. That is why they are there.

Where do i start.
dylanmiles23 replied to smellechelle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Like others said find a local hospital and go to a meeting. My hospital has them once a month and also a support meeting once a month. Those meetings are for before and after surgery people. I have been going to the monthly meetings for over 2 1/2 years but have the band for 1 1/2 years. My lung doctor set up my appointments for me. Thank you doctor for giving me a new life! Good luck with your journey. What state are you from ? I am from Boston -
Fiber choice chewabled anyone?
dylanmiles23 replied to happyloser13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have 4 a day. I have been chewing them for almost a year. I also take Colace and Miralax powder. They are prescriptions -
Good luck with your new journey. I love the band. I have had it for 1 1/2 years. I have a shake for breakfast every morning. I hate eggs etc. I use 8 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1 scoop of chocolate Body Fortress protein powder, about 1 tea. or more of decaf instant coffee and about the same amount of peppermint extract and then tons of ice. My shakes are very thick and taste great. The coffee and peppermint kills all after tastes. I have a small Hamilton Beach blender that is also the drink cup. So after all the ingredients are in I fill it with small ice cubes. Good luck.

First post -- am I making the right decision?
dylanmiles23 replied to Skywalker's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You said it the best. I choose the band because I still have my insides. People fail with all WLS. You have a tool and have to use it properly. I know of about 6 people who had by pass. They are all huge again. One person said the surgery failed. I have seen her eat, drink wine and cocktails at dinner. Surgery didn't fail, she did. Good luck from a very happy bandster!! -
