Hey Girls, I am day 5 of the liquid diet and I am doing very well with it. I think summer is the best time to do the liquid diet because you naturally want to eat less, and eat lighter foods. If I had to this in winter it would be harder, because I would be fanging for hot heavier foods. There is a silver lining in every cloud! LOL! Susannah

Hi Gang, I am on day 5 of the liquid diet and going gangbusters!:biggrin1: Susannah

Hi girlz! I read in the Herald Sun article yesterday that each patient gets 385.00 in a rebate from the surgery fee. So maybe I will get a little back from the $3500 I paid? Hope so. Susannah

My punctuation is terrible today! Wan't? What is that?!!!!!lol!!!

Hi ALL, Top idea Fee! I found the article interesting. I think Jacqui makes some very valid points. I really believe that each person must have their own light bulb moment, their own epipheny so to speak. I don't wan't to have a stroke or have a heart attack. I don't wan't to die young. I also have MS and last year I had a severe attack of it where I was having great difficulty walking. To look at me know you would never know it. I am in complete remission.I have one medical condition, I do not wan't any more. I also don't wan't to become a nagging former fattie. There is nothing worse than a former fattie or an ex smoker. People have to come to the decision by themselves. Susannah

Hi Bronnie, Not sure about your doc, But I think patients like us that also have additional health conditions such as MS get checked out more, namely the sleep tests. Your doc may not though. I had to wait several weeks for my sleep test, and then 2 weeks for the results. Susannah

Hi All, In a weird way I will be ready for the post op liquid phase because I will already have done 3 weeks of optifast. It may not be as much a shock to the system. Susannah

Can I ask why does this website frequently get obscene pornographic posts? Is there not a filter to erase it immediately? I find it revolting. If the title is obviously pornographic I skip it, but that is not always the case. What can be done to fix this? Thanks mods. Susannah

Gday everybody. On the Optifast brochure it says you can't have caffeine. I love my coffee in the morning. Can I have decaffeinated coffee, or is that a no no? Please need help with this.:huggie: :biggrin1: Susannah

Hi Judy, I am on day 3 of my liquid diet, so I can understand where you are at. Good luck with it. Susannah
-
Hi Terry, congrats on your surgery date. I am day3 of my 3 week liquid diet, and going good so far. Take it one day at a time, and remember every marathon starts with little steps. Susannah
-
Fee and Bronnie, you guys are lucky duckies I guess! I am day 3 and going ok. I eat my bowl of vegies at night plus the shakes. My surgeon said it is also done to shrink the liver, which makes for safer surgery. Ask me next week how I am going! :nervous :biggrin1: Susannah

Thanks for that Wheetsin. I am not a prude by any means, I just find these posts revolting to be honest. Susannah

Well, this is a lapband forum. If people want to post on a pornography forum they are free to. It's fine if people like sex, this is not the place for it though. Susannah

Appetite suppresants during liquid diet
susannah replied to tammyj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Tammy, I am glad you posted this thread because I am also considering taking an appetite surpressant, but I think maybe a more natural product would be the way to go. I have read that some of the prescribed products may induce panic attacks. I certainly don't want that. Good luck with it all. Susannah -
Hi Dori. I am also getting banded on 2/2/07, but as I live in Australia that day will come almost a day before you get it in America. We are ahead in time here.:biggrin1: Good luck with it. Susannah
-
Dori Dori bo Bori! LOL! Welcome to February bandsters.:biggrin1: Susannah

Gday Bronnie, My surgeon wants me to do Optifast for 3 weeks. I am not sure about Dr Nottle to be honest. I think Fee said she didn't have to do it and she is a patient of Dr Nottle. With any luck you won't have too.:lost1.5lbs: My surgeon is quite strict. He does not make it easy to get this surgery, because he wants you to understand the gravity of it all. I think he is very thorough and ethical. I am sure Dr Nottle is excellant too. I have heard only good stuff about him. Susannah

Optifast Question: re caffeine
susannah replied to susannah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the tips gals.:biggrin1: I am gonna go loco with no coffee for three weeks.:lost1.5lbs: :biggrin1: Susannah -
Thanks gals!:biggrin1: I am thinking of taking reductil only for the three week optifast pre surgery period. I need to use everything in my arsenal to win this war. I just need a bit of help with it on a strictly short term basis. I hope everyone understands. Any updates on how you are all travelling with your banding journeys? We can support each other. Susannah
