Hi All, Dionnem- Not long now!:biggrin1: It must have been nice working at your son's tuck shop. My sister's twins love it when she works in theirs. As for my reason for getting banded, I was getting heavier by the year and dieting my way up and not down. When I was diagnosed with MS in 2003 the neurologist also gave me a very serious talking to about my weight. It took me a while but it forced my hand really. I was also sick of being 36 years old and feeling like I am 90! I also want to find a special someone and have a baby. If that is not meant to be I am sure I could love a partner's child like my own. Bronnie- 3 sleeps! Yay! I want a full run down of your appointment on Monday.:biggrin1: Meredith and Jacqui, Mark etc A few questions. 1. How much water should I be drinking daily? 2. During the liquid phase- How many Mls should I be having of each liquid? They told me to have Breakky, m-tea, lunch, a-tea, dinner etc, but did not say how many mls! 3. They allow custard and quick and ice cream during the liquid phase, but I am stuck in diet mode and feel I shouldn't be having this. Did you guys have these? Thanks. I really need the advice here. Jason, thanks for the info on Equal. I don't use much of it but I reckon I will ditch it all together now. Susannah

Hey Koala, I am so happy for you. You just described some of the nsv's that I hope will be coming for me too. I can't wait to go and buy cute clothes off the rack. Well done. You have worked hard for it too, the band was an aid. By the way I love Koalas too.:biggrin1: Susannah

susannah replied to magnolia's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi, Is Dr Fielding an Aussie? Name sounds familiar. Yay! we rule!:biggrin1: :biggrin1: Susannah -
Hi, Well said Audree. People focus on the fact she was an opportunist, well women and men have been using each other since day dot. Not that it is ok. How many of us would turn down the opportunity to make money selling a product? I have the very strong feeling that Anna's daughter was not fathered my Howard K Stern, but that she loved him so much that she wished that she was. Anyway that is all speculation. My hope is that Anna's daughter will have a happier life in years to come than Anna did. Susannah

Hi All, Anna had struggled with her weight for the longest time, so we should have even more compassion because that made her a kindred spirit. Susannah

Gday Feb Crew, Congrats to those who have been banded!:clap2: Holy smokes gang, I am one week post op and have lost 2 kgs, which is just under 5 pounds I think!:biggrin1: Yay. Susannah

Hi, Yeas so maybe Anna Nicole abused drugs and alcohol, but I reckon a lot of us have ended up where we are from abusing food. Maybe Drugs and alcohol were Anna's port in the storm. At any rate we can't look down on her. She has lost her life so I would hope we could have a bit of compassion and grace for another person. Susannah:confused:

Hi All, Thanks Meredith for reassuring me that what I am going through is normal. I guess it is all part of the process. Meanwhile I am one week post op and down two kilos!:biggrin1: That kinda makes all the pain worthwhile. Sad news about Anna Nicole Smith. I hope she finds the peace she was seeking in death, that eluded her in life. Whatever anybody said about her she loved her kids, and anybody who dotes on their kids is alright in my book. Susannah
-
Hey Anna, I have got the new AP band too. Susannah
-
Hi, This is so sad. Anna really loved her kids so much, whatever people may say about her. She was a good lady. Thick Chick Texas you are exactly right. Anna I wish you to sleep peacefully. Susannah

Hey D, I will be in my sister's care until Monday the 19th of Feb, when I will go back to Melbourne and my little flat. I am enjoying the country air and sunshine at the moment. It is good for what ailes ya! Susannah

Hey Meredith, I was so upset yesterday, and questioning what the heck I had done to my body. I felt really worried and stressed about the whole process. Is this normal? Today I was happier, and I took a slow walk down to the shops. It wore me out really quickly. I am so grateful for the advice you girls give me. Susannah

Hi Guys, here is another Yahoo banding forum you may want to check out. Bronnie it has a lot of Dr Nottle's patients on it in one of the threads. http://au.messages.yahoo.com/health/lap-band If the link doesn't work go to the yahoo health message boards and punch in lap band. Dionne I am ok today. Yesterday I cried and cried. It is a rollercoaster of pain etc I guess. Susannah
-
Hey Katrina, Good luck for next week. I like to think of the band as a lassoo around my guts! Optifast was trying, to be sure. You will be in bandland soon Trin. Susannah

More Than 5 Years with the band?
susannah replied to confusedgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, The Lapband has been around in Australia since the early 90's. The head of the clinical practice who performed my surgery helped with the design of the original band. The lap band has proven to be safe and effective. There is no known side effects from having it in your body. Good luck with it. Susannah -
Hi Meredith, That is terrific, you go for it!:biggrin1: I may walk one of those in the future. You may also be interested to know that The MS society has runs and bike rides from time to time to raise money for research. Bron and I both have the condition so it is a bit close to our hearts I guess. Jacqui, What can I say? Your a machine mate!:biggrin1: Susannah
-
Hi Jason, thanks for the info. What do you think about EQUAL? I use that in moderation. Susannah
-
Hi Feb Crew, Congrats to Bbaygrl and others who are now banded. Yesterday I cried and cried. I think the enormity of what I have just gone through has kicked in. Is it normal to have an emotional meltdown? Susannah

Underwear During Surgery?
susannah replied to Tazza's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was given a pair of paper undies with elastic in them to wear just like Babygotback did also. The medical staff are there only to operate on you and are very professional. I don't think it is wrong to feel modest and conservative in this regard though. Susannah -
Hi Cassandra, I am planning on coming to the US later in the year to visit my brother Simon who lives in Brooklyn NY. Maybe we should have a singles function. Just a thought. Susannah

Sorry, make that Chocolate and Vanilla. I didn't have strawberry. Susannah
-
Meredith, Two kilos weight loss is terrific!:biggrin1: You are going to look fabulous in your wedding dress. Meredith's Wedding. Is Toni Collette coming?:biggrin1: Dionne, It is nice to know that someone understands how I feel. Your story has inspired me. How are the Pina Colada shakes going?:biggrin1: I only had boring old Chocolate and Strawberry on the Optifast. Susannah
