Overeater With Sleeve Questions
maxskillz replied to sramos89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in week 4 post-op. I honestly don't have the food cravings I had before. I have to force myself to eat, and when I'm full my sleeve lets me know. In the beginning it freaked me out that I wasn't hungry. I used to be 357 lbs. However, I did start a low carb diet and lost about 35 before my pre-op diet. The low carb diet included 2 Atkins shakes a day. That really helped the transition to the pre-op diet which was 4 protien shakes a day for 2 weeks. Lost 23 lbs on it. I have continued to lose very well. I just started week 4 and I'm down 31 lbs, I'm currently at 268. I would tell you to get your body into weight loss mode before surgery. I believe it has really helped me continue losing at my current rate. -

My surgeon had me on 4 bariessential shakes a day. Ends up being about 800 calories daily. I lost 23 lbs in the 2 weeks pre-op. You may ask your surgeon if they have a a prescribed pre-op diet. -

I lost 23 lbs in 2 weeks pre-op. I don't think 20 lbs would be out of the question. -

Has Losing Your Weight Affected Your Heart Rate?
maxskillz replied to nyxa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 weeks post op my heart rate and bp have gone down. I may actually get off the bp meds i was on 3 and now down to one. This surgery can help, but alot of it has to do with dropping the excess weight. I've lost 83 from my highest weight. That was in april. -

I agree with the above completely. I wish I would have done it sooner. -
How much walking are you doing? That helps alot with the gas pain. For about a week and a half post op i would get a pain that would shoot up into my left shoulder from my abdomen with every drink i took. It eventually went away too.

Isopure has a clear drink with 40 g of protien. They are not the best but if you mix with crystal lite they are alot easier to drink. Being not as heavy as the protien shakes may help you keep them down. It seemed to work for me i could only have clear liquids for the first weak. Week 2 when i was able to have the protien shakes it wasnt any problem.

Get back on track, and you are probably ok.
