Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Damn, I forgot one thing from yesterday. I had a full sugar 20 oz Coke. Oh it was heaven... That added about 240 calories. Sigh... Now I know why we're watching our calories. I went over yesterday. I'll do better today. -

I like the salad too but I don't like the dressing. So I just get the bol and add the lettuce to it! And I don't add the rice. I wish they had brown rice there. I could eat a little bit of that. But white rice is sooooo bad for me. -

Good morning Violets. I slept very well last night. I woke up this morning refreshed and ready to tackle the day. I've got mounds of work here at the office. I tracked my food yesterday and I'll post it here later. Who the heck knew that a Burrito Bol from Chipotle had so many damn calories?? For those of you not familiar with Chipotle it's a chain of restaurants that makes these giant burritos. But they can also put them in a bowl for you with no tortilla. So I got one of those for dinner thinking that I was doing good. Black beans, grilled chicked, romaine lettuce, pico de gallo (tomatoes, onions, lime, jalapenos). That's it. And when I logged it on thedailyplate.com it's showing 407 calories? That seems high to me? -

I just updated my ticker. 13 more pounds until I'm halfway to my goal! Yay! I was trying to be halfway to goal at my 6 month mark but it looks like I'll hit -50 pounds instead. I weighed 295 on my surgery day so I always track my weight lost from that number. -

Okay, here I go... had a great weekend, blah blah blah. ate too much... blah blah blah.... okay for real now :car: Good morning Violets, I hope everyone had a good weekend! Mine was good. I did eat too much but luckily it didn't show on the scale. My mom has a food to-go place that only opens on the weekends and since she and my dad left for Italy that means that I was in charge of running it. I tried to be a good girl but the smells coming from the kitchen were intoxicating. Luckily everyone knows I'm banded so that alone made me have some self control!! Terry! Hi! I'd love to join you on Wednesday. PM me the time and place and I'll be there. TracyK - Way to go on those other 2.5 lbs!!! Believe me, we all work hard for every ounce that we lose so we all need to celebrate our successes together! I'm also 5"7! Can't wait till I'm down in the 190's! I'll look HOT just like you! We need to get together, you don't live that far from me! I'm gonna come down to Galveston one of these weekends and we can meet for coffee! Laura - you are truly looking amazing. Seriously, you look like you weigh less than me! So I've scheduled my fill for this upcoming Saturday. Hopefully that'll give me some good restriction for awhile. Terry, I'm logging my Kashi oatmeal on myplate.com right now! I'm gonna keep up with everything that goes in my mouth this week. Every jelly bean will be logged! -

Okay, just lost my big post because I have ADD. I was typing away in this little Quick Reply box but then I saw the new post that Tracy created that is called "Running Total of Lost Pounds..." and I clicked on it! After I realized what I did I hit the back buttong but my post was gone gone gone... I'm gonna attempt to recreate it. It will not be filled with witty sayings and dry humor like my other one, as such great works can never be re-created. But I will try... :car: -

Good morning everyone!! Happy belated birthday Tracy!! I'm sorry I missed it yesterday. The first Thursday of the month is crazy for me here at work and then after work I went with my honey (Juan) to go look for a new couch. I'm definitely going for a fill next weekend. That'll be three weeks after my last fill. I haven't stepped on the scale since last Sunday because I'm scared to see the number!! Amanda! So nice to know your real name... I'm sorry for the trouble you're going through right now. I'm like you though, I stress about it and then it turns out to be nothing. It really doesn't sound like anything major and you should be able to just pay some fines. That was very brave of letting us know! Like Kat said, we're here for the good, the bad and the ugly! Jenn - I haven't ever tried eggplant either! I'm sure it tastes like zuchinni right? Tell your cousin that while she is recovering that she shouldn't wear any waistbands that lie directly on her port. Wear jogging pants or yoga pants that she can pull up or wear low on her hips. Is she close enough where you could go visit her? Just remind her how happy she is going to be in a few months! She's so luck to have someone like you to answer all her questions. She could also come post here and we'd help her too... Terry - My beading class was great! We made a hugs and kisses bracelet with swavorsky (sp) crystals. It turned out beautifully. I'll have to take a picture and post it here. Do you know if Joann is back from NY? Let's try to get together next week... Kat - awww your Kinsey sounds so sweet. Bad granny, how could you yell at little angel! LOL! Oh and I think that ice cream before dinner should be the rule, not the exception! Pamela - Okay, i'm gonna be calling you and making sure you're doing homework and not sitting in front of the TV! No more Big Brother for you young lady. Not until your homework is done! But seriously, sending lots of good vibes your way. I commend you for the work that you do. I'm sure it's not easy and someone with your background and education could probably be doing whatever she wanted but it really speaks about your soul that you're out there everyday trying to get through to these kids. Don't let them get you down! Denise - How do you pronounce your dauther's name? I saw your picture with the alligator, too cute! Michelle - Have fun at the doctor's. Not! Do you remember that from the 80's. Everything was "NOT". I think it started with Mike Myers on Saturday night live. TracyK - Congratulations on making it to onederland!! :whoo: Judy, Laura, Janiebug, Jennifur (MsJen), Chantay - Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday. Oh, my birthday is October 19th. I will be turning 31 in a few weeks. 31 going on 40... he he he... I'm barely getting used to being 30 and now I'm turning 31! My my how time flies... -

Good morning girls! I don't know if anyone has tried this but I found a Special K cereal that has added protein in it. Here are the specs: Serving Size: 3/4 cup Calories 100Calories Total Fat 3g Saturated Fat 0.5g Cholesterol 0mg Sodium 110mg Potassium 320mg Total Carbohydrate 14g Dietary Fiber 5g Sugars 2g Protein 10g Then I also found milk that has protein in it. It's Borden's 2% Reduced Fat with added protein. Here are those specs: Serving Size: 1 cup (240 mL) Calories 140 Total Fat 5g Saturated Fat 3g Trans Fat 0g Cholesterol 20mg Sodium 150mg Total Carbohydrate 14g Dietary Fiber 0g Sugars 13g Protein 10g How does it look? Has anyone tasted any of these? I was gonna go out and get it during my lunch hour so that I can start having that for breakfast. I think what happened was that I got burned out on cottage cheese. I was having that every day during the week because it was easy. On the weekends I usually have eggs and refried beans. I went back and looked at the my total intake of protein these past few weeks and there was hardly a day that I was getting more than 45 grams. That's what has caused my slowdown. So I gotta get back to at least 20 grams per meal. Or go out and buy those bullets that Laura takes. Does anyone know if I have to wait any length of time between fills? I got a slight fill two weeks ago that didn't do anything for me. I am eating whatever just like if I wasn't banded. I want to go get another one this week but I don't know if I should wait. -

Pam - Can I come stay with you and can I sleep in your closet? Kat - I'm so glad you're ok! That would have freaked me out and it's a good thing you kept control of your truck! TracyK - How's the house search going? Have you found anything you like yet? Laura - I know exactly what you're talking about with the computer game. I sometimes sit for two little girls, one is 14 and one is 12 and they spend their allowance money on these virtual lives! I couldn't believe it when they were first explaining it to me! Obviously there is many many people out there doing the same. That sounds like a great hobby and it's great that you're able to make money off it! Jenn - glad you're feeling better! So, I've hit such a plateu. I'm completely stalled. It frustrates me because I work like a dog, fall into bed exhausted every night. but in the morning I weigh myself and I'm up and down the same two pounds every day. Been like that for about three weeks now. Granted i'm not doing cardio or nothing like that but still! Last night I had to touch up the entire house because when the guys that installed my tile floor, they would brace themselves on the newly painted walls to get up off of their knees. So last night I had to go around the whole house and repaint all the walls right around the hip level and down. My arms were killing me, I was sweating like crazy. Sunday we loaded up a huge moving truck with all the stuff that's left from our old house, brought it to the new house and unloaded everything. Then we had to load up about 500 sq feet of carpet that had been soaked by the rain because when we pulled it we left it out in the back yard and it rained so it got soaking wet. Along with the pad that goes underneath! And also about 500 sq ft of linoleum that we pulled from the kitchen and bathrooms. Anyways, we loaded that up onto the moving truck and we went and found a dumpster to unload it into. Seriously, almost every day is like this since we moved. We've been moving, cleaning, pulling, painting. trimming. This house was a wreck when we got it. It's got great bones but the interior was yuck. And i'm sorry for the rant but I'm getting so frustrated. I was crying about it this morning when I got on the scale. Oh and I guess it doesn't help that we've been eating fast food almost every night. I just can't stop whatever project I'm doing to fix dinner so Juan usually brings something home. Not overly bad stuff because he can't stand burgers and fries but it's not home cooking. Roasted chicken from the grocery deli, subway, salads from jack in the box, chinese food... AUGH. I can't wait until I get back to normal. Hopefully just one more week and I'll be done with the house that way I can get back to my routine, because not only is it affecting my dinner eating it also affects my lunch eating. I usually make lunch at home and bring it to the office. Well I haven't been doing that so I end up grabbing something quick here at the places around the office... Oh, and I don't eat breakfast. I don't get hungry until around 12:30. I have only myself to blame. I've promised myself 5 days a week of gym as soon as i get my house in order. Thanks for listening ya'll. I feel better now. -

Panda! You look awesome! You look like the daughter of the lady in your avatar! LOL! I can't wait to be able to ride a roller coaster. I won't try it until i'm around 220... Terry - I would LOVE to join you on the 5K BUT my birthday is Oct. 19th and we are taking a girls' weekend and going to the Coushatta in honor of my birthday. Let's get together soon though, I miss you! Laura - cool pic on your signature line! You look like a pin up girl! TracyK - You're almost there! I can live vicariously through you... i'll be awhile till I get to onederland! I haven't set any mini goals yet. Hmm, let's see... By my birthday I want to be hitting the gym at least 5 days a week. Yep, that's a good goal. Jenn - glad your throat is feeling better. Since you live so close to your job why can't you hitch a ride with someone that gets off at the same time as you? Or does everyone work different schedules? I'm sure the weather is beautiful up there this time of year. Does it get really really cold at night? Okay, question of the day...Am I enjoying my food more?... hmmm... Well. I don't think I have good restriction so it's not like I have to savor every bite because I'm only having 5. But I am buying better quality food now. Lots and lots of fish, fresh veggies. So even though I can eat pretty normally I still have the mindset that I got when I was first banded, everything that goes in my body has to be extra good because I can't have alot. And even though I have no trouble with bread, Pasta or tortillas I tend to stay away because in my mind I think that bread, pasta and tortillas are going to take up too much "room" in my pouch that I would rather fill with meat and veggies. Sorry for the long answer, that question really made me think... I hope everyone has a good weekend! My floors are getting installed as we speak so hopefully this will be the last weekend that we eat dinner while sitting in bed! Love you all! -

Weird, I'm trying to update my avatar and for some reason it's not letting me. I saved my pic as both a jpg and a bmp but every time I try to update it says it doesn't recognize the file. Or that it's not a valid file name. That's never happened before. I've always uploaded jpg's. Anyone having this problem? -

My gosh! I'm gone for one day and there's a mini meltdown going on!! Terry ~ you're always so encouraging and so helpful to all of us here so when you need us of course we'll be there for you!! If I need to I will drive down to I-10 and kick your booty to the gym! And join you! LOL! But seriously, your face is the one I see when I decide to sit on the couch instead of going to the gym. It makes me get right back up and put on my sweats and head out the door. So whenever you are feeling down on yourself please think about what an inspiration you are to all of us here... Laura ~ I hope your sister gets the help she needs. It must be frustrating for you and your family to have to watch her hurt herself. Does she have a partner or a close friend that could stay with her if she doesn't want to come home? Pamela ~ My gosh, I was reading your post and you could have been talking about me. I get so frustrated with myself on the self sabotage. Like Terry said, I feel like I'm just LAZY at life. I just want to sit back and have everything happen for me. Or I want to just do the most minimum amount of work to make things happen. Yes, that's it. The most minimum work possible. In all areas of my life. Work, health, relationships. And then I try to convince myself that I'm happy with the way things are. Like losing one pound every two weeks, I try to convince myself that i'm ok with that. Or my job that I'm not really happy at, again, I convince myself that I'm happy here. Augh. Sorry to unload... All this sharing makes me put a spotlight on my life too... Gina - Get a slight unfill! You actually might be doing damage to your esophagus with all that reflux going on. Kat - your life is full of crazy characters, huh? Registered at a porn shop? Wow. This lady must really really need some excitement in her sex life is she needs so many sex aids that it requires her whole family to buy them for her! Well your life certainly is never boring! Tracy - WOW! You look amazing! You are so beautiful! Your belly is shrinking so fast, I'm so jealous! Oh Laura did you send Kat my info to put on her list? Let me know, if not I'll PM everyone my info just so they'll have it. Also, Kat I never got the list, could you send it to me? -

Hi all... I'm at my mom's doing laundry. We haven't hooked up our washer/dryer yet since we are getting new floors on Saturday. I had a pork chop for dinner. Everything went smoothly. I had a chicken breast for dinner last night. No problems there either. I think I might be at a good spot. I do get full fast but I don't have a problem with any one particular food. My head is killing me right now. It's been a looooonnng day. I'm ready for my bed. I've got one more load to go. I'll be so happy once my floor is down. Then I can finally be settled. Have a good night everyone... -

Hi all! Good morning, I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We came back yesterday from Mexico but didn't have time to post. Well my fill was uneventful. I had 4.3 cc in a 10 cc band. When I got there he had me drink some of that yucky white stuff so he could see my restriction and he said I was properly restricted. He didn't want to give me anything but I begged and he finally gave me .2 cc's. He told me to see how I felt and if I had any problems to call him on Sunday. Well I was completely fine. I did liquids that whole day Saturday and started back on regular food Sunday. I don't really feel much difference. I really wish he would have given me a little bit more. Oh well, I'll see how I do. I haven't lost an ounce since last week. Not even with being on liquids all day Saturday. Terry - I haven't been to my beading class yet. This Thursday. I'm excited. When does Joanna come back from New York? Have you talked to Mel? I want to get together soon... Laura - I'm so glad everything went well for you! I love jerky now too and I'm always looking for good stuff. Thanks for the link. TracyK - Yuck, root canal. I hate the dentist... Hope you feel better soon. Tracy - How did the soup turn out? I'm gonna make it this weekend. The weather is starting to get a little better here in Houston. The evenings are definitely alot cooler. I can walk a few miles around my neighborhood and not feel like I'm about to pass out with the heavy humidity. I'm going to go fix some oatmeal now. I'm craving something hot this morning. -

Morning Violets! I'm in a very chipper mood this morning. With all the moving, painting, hauling and then on top of that getting sick me and my honey haven't exactly been amorous... We fall into bed exhausted every night. Well, now that things have slowed down, we're both feeling better and last night we finally christened our new house. Whew! I can't believe we went almost a month with no nookie! So today I am feeling great! Pamela - my restriction is gone too... like I said, I'm getting a fill this weekend. When is your next one? Last night I made pork chops in a green salsa and I was able to eat two!! Terry - yes, we're taking our classes at Beadaholique on Louetta. They have the most amazing stuff there. We could browse for hours... TracyK - I snorted water out my nose when I saw your post. So then that's our end goal, to be able to see our coochie? I'm glad I'm not the only one! I'm so jealous of all you girls shopping for clothes! I haven't bought anything new in awhile. What I had been doing is shrinking all my clothes in the dryer, a big no no before I was banded. I would never ever put anything in the dryer. All my clothes were already tight to begin with. But anyways, like I said, I had just been putting everything in the dryer and trying to shrink it. Well that stopped working too. My old clothes were way to big on me. So then I started raiding my little sisters closet. She's a size 14-16 top and size 18 bottom. Weellll, her pants are beginning to get lose on me! So I guess my next step is looking for stuff at the Salvation Army! I've found some really nice things there in the past and I'm sure there will be more of a selection in the size I am in now... Anyhoo, off to eat some breakfast. I got cottage cheese waiting for me... -

Morning ladies, or is afternoon already? I'm feeling much much better. The combination of DayQuyl/NiQuyl really helped. My house is coming along... Still have tons to do but I can see the light... I'm going to Monterrey, Mexico this weekend for a wedding and while I'm there I'm going to go see my doctor that banded me for a free fill! That's going to be nice, not to have to pay $200 bucks for a fill! I get free fills for life with my banded doctor but since he's in Monterey, Mexico it's usually impossible for me to get down there. And I definitely need a fill. I want to be back to half cup servings. My hair is growing back, I've got a ton of baby hair that won't stay put! I'm just glad my hair is curly so that's it's able to hide all that new growth. Tracy, you look amazing in your pictures. You both look so happy! How's the wedding preparations coming along? March will be here in no time! Laura, I'm so happy that they were able to schedule you in to fix you so quickly! Will you have to go through bandster hell all over again? No, it's just your port that needs replacing, right? Tracy TX - I'm sure you made the right decision about the house. If your gut was telling you no then it was better to go with your gut. It's a buyers market right now in Houston. I don't know if that extends down into your area too but I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a nice home when you're ready. Kat - hope everything went well with your dad today. I don't know what I would have done if I had to stay in the same room as my parents! I would have taken some Tylenol PM around 6pm and called it a night!! Jenn - I still haven't cleaned out my garage from the house we moved out of!! There is still so much stuff in there. Come do mine when you're done with yours! Terry! I'm glad you had a good time! Don't fret about the 2 lbs! I'm just glad you went and got that slight unfill before you left town, you would have been miserable... Hey, I signed up my mom and I for beading classes. We start Thursday. We start with a basic bracelet but hopefully some day we'll be doing beautiful necklaces like yours. Pamela - how are you doing with your restriction? If my days were stressful like yours I'd definitely be super tight all the time. I was crying at a Lifetime Movie the other night and when I tried to swallow my popcorn I got completely stuck! Too funny!! Ok girls, talk to you later...back to work for me...
