OMG heather, this lady is bonkers. New cabinetry?? what the heck is she smoking?? And where does she get off coming to your home to see how clean it currently is? As long as you leave it sufficiently clean when you move out it shouldn't be a problem. We have several houses that we rent out and we've had some henious renters in the past but never have we nitpicked like this lady is doing. As long as you keep the "foundation" of the house in good condition and the lawn is watered and trimmed then you're good. Ahh Laura, I have a numb spot on my toe from tripping over something too. Yes, I saw the original bruise pic on FB. Do you have trouble walking now? And also, Way to go Russell on picking you up like a knight in shining armor! That's awesomeness... The pool is my parent's new pool! They started it at the beginning of the summer and the contractor barely finished it on Wednesday. We were in it as soon as it had like two feet of Water in, ha ha ha. Such children... we were excited... Jenn - hope you start to feel better soon! It was homecoming for our schools this weekend too. Saturday afternoon we were out enjoying Market Street and all of a sudden we see tons of kids all dressed up, arriving in limos. They all scattered taking pictures in front of the fountains. Homecoming is so fancy now. It wasn't like that when I was in High School...

Weeee, the space center sounds fun! I forgot to ask Jane how she enjoyed it when she stayed. Crock pot stuff is so easy, isn't it?? I did ribs in there recently and OMG they were so freaking good... I think I might do something in the crock pot Saturday... I have in my freezer a whole chicken... can I do a whole chicken in there and add a can of coke and be done with it?? OH does anyone like boudin??

Oh Heather, I agree. It was a hard decision but one you had to make... You ladies are so strong to be able to take this on and I admire you greatly. You give up so much when you agree to take on foster children but I think that the benefits you reap from it are worth it. Suzy - you are embarking on an adventure and I hope you stick around to tell us about it!

So sorry to hear about your mom not speaking to you. I'm glad your sister is back in re-hab though. A question for moms - how can me and Laura talk to our moms about stuff without them getting defensive?? My little sister is also irresponsible. Not anywhere near as what is going on with Laura's little sister but still she has things that my mom is constanly bailing her out of. I'm afraid that if she continues to do that that my little sister will never ever be responsible for herself. And I'm also afraid that things will escalate from just partying all the time to actually drug use. I try to talk to my parents but my mom gets mad at me and then refuses to talk to me! I'm in the same boat as Laura and now I just ignore it...

Good morning lovies!!! It's Thursday!!! I can't wait for this weekend! Nothing big planned but we do get to meet with our priest and I love doing that. He gets us talking about ourselves and Juan really really opens up about us and says all these lovely things and I have goosebumps the whole time! Pam!! I would love to come see you again! I wish I had the time to just jump on the plane and come spend the weekend. I LOVE yard sales! I'd be pricing stuff and selling stuff left and right... I need to have one soon. My garage is overstuffed. Juan moved stuff around to make room for us to put my new car in there but I hate that now everything is piled up all around. I need it GONE!! We did back and lower back strenght training after our cardio. Kicked my butt... Sore all over again this morning... How's everyone doing with their eating?? I have good days and bad days still. My sugar intake has gone down dramatically though. I'm thinking of taking Alli for awhile and see how that goes??? I'm doing good with my excersise now i need to do good with my food and i think that will help me....

Hi girls! Just a quick pop in. My mom did great this morning. She can see clearly out of one eye! She gets the other one done next Wednesday. She's resting at home and basically no other restrictions other than not to lift anything heavy for 10 days... thanks for all your thoughts and prayers! I'm headed back over there now to see how she's doing.

I love love Glee! I'm gonna start taping Fast Forward, I heard that was gonna be good too. Survivor, Amazing Race and American Idol are our top three shows that we cant miss... How do you think AI is gonna do with Paula missing? I love Ellen and I'm so happy that she's gonna be on but I think they need to get rid of Kara and bring back Paula...

ha ha ha, Suzy, how do you keep up with all your shows?? If I watch a show I absolutely can't miss an episode or else I just quit watching.... My mom got a cleaning lady after I moved out too. The bad part about it is that my two lazy sisters still lived at home but never helped with anything. They are udderly spoiled. Their room gets cleaned from top to bottom, bathroom scrubbed, clothes put away. SO SPOILED!! and i'm jealous!!!

Good morning lovies... Weekly housekeeping sounds heavenly! We will see about that when I have kiddos. I kinda feel a little guilty for even having one in the first place. Why do I feel like that? I love that feeling! Doesn't happen often for me though... What is everyone excited about watching this upcoming fall season on TV? I don't know what to TIVO. Last night I went to try to find a show so I could watch in bed and all I had on my TIVO were wedding shows! I need to find others...

I talked to Juan and just told him that he would have to pitch in more than usual. I am used to doing most of the housework just because I feel guilty that he works all day with his body and I sit in a desk. So I have pretty much spoiled him in that sense. My fault. But I told him things had to change. That even though he comes home tired that he still needs to do the dishes after he eats, sweep, vacuum, do one thing each night so that it doesn't pile up. I told him that in the hour window that I have while I'm cooking dinner I will also have one chore. Laundry, ect... I hope this system works and we stick to it.

Pam - the sad part is that we do have a cleaning lady that comes twice a month. This is the daily stuff that we can't keep up with. Typical day for me starts at 6am, I leave for work at 7am. Get home around 630pm. Make dinner. I meet my friend a the gym at 730 and we are there until 830 or 9pm sometimes. When I get home I am exhausted. It takes all of me just to get in the shower. Then I usually crash on the couch with Juan for a little while before dozing off. This is typical weekday for us. The only time I have to do things is on the weekends. But since our busy wedding season has started I have a wedding almost every Saturday. Sundays are church and then seeing family. I hate that my schedule is so restricted but I am desperately trying to keep up with this gym thing so that I can look back at my wedding pics and not cringe when I see the fat rolls, LOL...

Michelle - sounds awesome!!! I'm sure they are so excited. I always plan ahead too but change stuff if things come up. The times we've gone on trips that we don't have a plan we waste so much time trying to come up with "what are we doing next". We have two planners in my family, me and my little sister. So everyone usually leaves all the planning up to us and they go along for the ride and just look to us to see what comes up next... Jane - sorry that didn't work!! There has to be something that is formatted to auto correct your cells. I would look for that option. Turn off auto correct or auto format or anything like that... Oh my car, I got the newer version of what I had. I had a 2005 Chevy Equinox and we got 2010 version of it. Same color just new car! I loved my car but it was getting along in miles and in appereance. We thoroughly use our cars, put tons of miles on them and we travel alot in them. So we figured we needed to sell mine while it was still worth something and get a new one.

I stopped weighing myself too Laura, because I don't want to get down on myself and spiral into "OH WELL land" if I gain... Ima just keep working on this... Speaking of cleaning, I have really let my house go since I've been going to the gym so much. Juan offered this great piece of advice when I told him I was doing to much in the evenings to get anything done around the house, "get up at 5am and go in the mornings". NOT. We need to sit down and come up with a chore list by the day of what needs to get done so that it doesn't pile up on us... We really need to be more organized if we are planning on family soon... And yes, I would very very much recommend visiting New Orleans. Go during the cooler months though because it gets HOOOTTTTT... We were drenched on Saturday while we were walking around. The sun is hot and it's so humid... Pam - glad you got a great bunch this year. What's your grad student doing to grate your nerves?? I made a dermatologist appointment this morning and she said, "all i have available is Oct 2nd", I'm like, why so far away? That's next month! She said, that's next week. WHERE DID SEPTEMBER GO????
