  1. Yeah, my doctor recommended it, but i didnt realize that it would probably help a lot! I do think im going to go to post op surgery though. Ughh, they are just so freaking painful! The part im most excited about is that people wont know the old "Sarah". Oh, I forgot to ask, but whats your name?
  2. Oh:/ Yeah my gas pains were bad too! I kept getting the hiccups and they hurt so bad. After the 4th or 5th day I think mine started to go away. Did you do any pre surgery counseling? I'm reading all of those forums and lots of people talked about how much easier it made the whole thing. Now i'm scared that Im going to screw it up or something, you know?
  3. I has my sleeve on July 26 so this is my 8th day. I'm worried that when I am able to eat normal foods again that I will be so tempted to go back to my comfort foods that made me over weight. Plus I'm starting college so I'm scared that everything will be extremely overwhelming. Any advice??

    Teen advice!

All of these posts are so helpful! I had mine July 26 and I am really scared about when I'm able to eat the normal foods again. It's easy now because I physically can't, and I'm worried that the temptation of eating foods that i used to will be overwhelming. I'm about to start college in a couple of weeks and I'm worried everything will be too much to handle and that I will end up dropping out or something.
  5. Oh okay! Yeah I was pretty sore when I got home too. I've been sleeping on our recliner and so it feels a lot better on the stretching feeling I get when I lay down. Last night was the first night I slept in a bed! Are you using the pain meds they gave you? Those really knocked me out.

    Feeling Sick After I Eat

Hi! I had mine 8 days ago, and I feel the same way. My mother also had the sleeve, and she said that after a few weeks it will go away. I can usually eat 2 bites of yogurt/pudding before I feel so full. Ive noticed that the colder the food/drink, the worse it feels. So that may be the reason! Good luck!

    Soups & More Soups?

I also got kind of burned out on soups during the 2 week liquid diet also! I had my surgery July 26, so I am on day 8. My doctor said yogurts, sugar free jello/ pudding, and malt of meal were fine so thats what I've been eating. I also tried refried beans several days after surgery and they went down fine. I hope that helps!
  8. Hi, I'm Sarah. I had mine July 26th, so I'm on day 8. I, like you, felt pretty good afterwards, and then all of a sudden I was feeling worse. I was still feeling pretty crappy 3 days ago, but it was like once I hit a week, I felt so much better. I have lost about 12 pounds, so that was the only encouraging part. My biggest problem was that every time I got up I hiccuped several times and it felt like someone was punching my stomach. It was horrible. I hope it gets better for you!
  9. That would be great! Was it August 1st or July 1st?

Anyone Getting Their Sleeves In July Or August?

I just had mine 8 days ago, and I am already seeing results! I was pretty sore for the first several days, but it has definitely improved! Good luck with your WLS journey!
  11. Hi I'm Sarah! I am about to start my freshman year at college, and I had my surgery 8 days ago today. I have already lost about 12 pounds so it feels good to see quick results! Anyone interested in being a WLS buddy?

    A Fresh Start To College!

Well I'm about to be a freshman in college this August, and had my gastric sleeve exactly one month before leaving. I had it one week ago today, and I have already lost 12 pounds! Woo hoo! It is definitely encouraging when you can see results so quickly! The first couple of days were hard because eating went from being a comfort to a chore. I am trying to remember "you eat to live. Not live to eat." Eating has been my comfort blanket all of my life, and suddenly it cant be any more. Its how it should be, but it is still a hard adjustment. But I am looking forward to doing the things the next few years that I haven't been able to do because of my weight. It was hard seeing my friends going on dates and sitting at home alone on the couch pigging out on chips and ice cream while watching Pretty Woman. I skipped my senior prom because I knew I couldn't get a date, and there was no way I would be caught dead in a sleeveless dress. I was afraid to sit in a desk at school because I was afraid I wasn't going to fit. My weight crippled me for so many years, but I am so happy that food will no longer be a crutch for me! Anyone have any tips for newbies?

    Warning: Female Stuff

That is so awesome! I'm 18, but I was 16 when I found out that I had PCOS. I never thought I would miss having a period, but when you don't you feel like you are missing part of being a "woman". I started taking Metformin, but I was still having problems. I am so happy to know that the weightloss is helping your PCOS symptoms! Thank you for posting this!
