  1. I'm ten months out and my tummy still makes all the crazy noises everytime I eat...I don't notice it anymore just seems normal now. I have about the same restriction I had at two months so I'm not sure that's what u wanted to hear but it seems more normal now and not as much work or different than it was at ur stage in the game.

    Energy?

My mid day exhaustion was due to super low iron levels. I was taking what I was supossed to but at 6 months was draggin by 2. My doc has incresed my iron supplements in an effort to avoid transfusions. This has helped a lot but looks like I may still end up getting more.
  3. He may be suffering from ptsd and may feel like the stress of the autism may trigger something in him because he has been dealing with many other stresses overseas and may feel he doesn't know how to handle your son now. It takes a while for soldiers to really come back to the real world and may take hime even longer to admit to ptsd and especially to get help. While it is getting a little better it is really hard to ask for help as a soldier when part of your duty is selflessness. I know that sounds hypocritical but getting help may effect how he is viewed in his unit or he thinks it will and these are the people who defended each other with their lives in danger. I would say give him a bit more time...reality is probably just now sinking back in and its scary...it took me about a year to feel comfortable back home. It doesn't seem fair and as long as you keep communicating to him you guys need him back without being angry he may feel the support he needs to work at getting better for his family which is always more important. Being s military wife is a hard job hang in there and enjoy ur journey by the time hevis ready for more you will be feeling hotter than ever!
  4. I tried not to take any and was fine for the first month then it got too painful to not take them I tried everything before having to resort to them. I have been able to start decreasing how often I take them it was daily until about a month ago and now almost 9 mo post op I am back down to every other day instead of daily

    Drinking water

Yup I'm 8 months out and still can't drink plain water I drink lots of crystal light or add a splash of apple juice. It also still has to be ice cold I have accepted this is how it may be forever and I just make sure I always have a plan for something to drink because being dehydrated is not worth it
  6. My belly is the last to go. I am glad to finally have it melting away but to wait 7 months was not fun. I lost a little of it as I went but now I can really tell from week to week. It will also be the only area that I will have extra skin issues which are makng me self conscious. Now instead of a fat roll I'm running into an extra skin roll which for whatever crazy reason makes me feel worse than the fat did. For me the mental part has been just as much a rollercoaster in regards to my self esteem. In the end I am way better off than I was and everything is still changing and shifting so I just need to suck it up and get a lot of use out of spanx til I can have the skin removed

    Antacids & tummy pain

Yes...I switched once (I can't remeber the reason) frm prevacid to zantac and the zantac didn't do anything then it took a week for the prevacid to get back full strength after switching back. Go back to prevacid asap

    Hair loss

It looks a little less than I was losing it lasted about three months for me...the biotin helped with the regrowth throughout and I got highlights to help disguise my thinness at almost 8 months it has almost stopped and gotten thick again. Just a phase and I was the only one who noticed...well besides my finace if he showered before I got my pile out of the drain haha

    Tap water

I'm almost 8 months post op and still can't do plain water...especially tap. I still need I've cold beverages too. It still amazes me how different everyone is.

    Hair loss

I lost mine from month 3 and now in 7 it is starting to thicken up again. I got all my protein and vitamins. The biotin doesn't help stop hair loss but it was a tremendous help for growing back...the entire time I was losing I had regrowth because of biotin (granted much slower than I was losing hair lol) its just a phase amd if its gonna happen to u there is nothing u can really do just stuff that helps. I ended up getting highlights to disguise some of the thinning too because I have really dark hair. I swallowed 10000mg at 3 months it didn't bother me plus it was a very small pill

    bread hurts my sleeve

Yup can only do toasted wheat or whole grain...about 1/2 slice 7 months out

    Biotin?

It doesn't stop your hair from falling out...nothing really will. Even eating a ton of protein I still lost tons but it helps tremendously with regrowth of new hair...I started taking it 2 months post op started losing hair 3 months post op but just as I was losing I was regrowing. I am 7 1/2 months post op now and just stopped losing so much hair but biotin has kept it coming back and thickened it all. I went month 4 and had highlights put in to disguise some of the loss and that helped a lot too. Its all part of the journey it doesn't last forever

    5k color run!

The one in lansing will be my first 5k...I am so excited! I think it would be a great start for you and something to look forward to next year think about the difference it would be cool to have a referenc event. If I were you I would write down everythong about the event how you were feeling and stuff so the next year you can look at how far you have come.
  14. I didn't need prevacid until about a month or month and half post op so even if u were to try going without it does not mean it will not happen down the road
  15. R u on a ppi...if i forget mine I feel awful like this

    Spitting up

Have u tried drinking other things...lime adding a splash of low cal/sugar juice or a tiny bit of crystal lite? I am 7 months out and I am still unable to drink plain water it makes me vomit. One of my favorites is the diet cran grape juice and fruit punch crystal lite although I can only stand up to half the packet. Also I still have to have my drinks ice cold once they get warm they upsety tummy and make me feel nauseous. You may have to experiment to find what works for you and be prepared that it may last more than a couple days and you need ur liquids
  17. Just for future refernce...like when u move on in your stages you will want to be very careful about having one last bite...even at 7 months out every once in a while I will have one tiny bite too much...mostly if its something new I haven't had since surgery I get the crazy incomfortable feeling and it takes a lot of time for it to pass...walking helps sometimes but liquid makes it worse and gas x doesn't help...my stomach is simply too full. Move on and just try to be aware of ur body and new stomach. Everyone makes mistakes (we all put ourselves in the situation to be here in the first place) so don't let others make u feel worse than you do. Take this as a lesson and if u are like many of us that one time of discomfort, pain and worry will be enough to keep you on track
  18. You have probably already bought your dress but I am getting married in november and was very concerned about dress fitting especially cuz alterations can take so long and at 6 months out every week is still making a huge difference in how my clothes fit. I opted for a corset type lace up back in a size smaller than I was that will be able to be altered up to three sizes smaller then the lace up back is more accomadating to last minute body changes just by being pulled tghter. I personally was still very tired at 2.5 months and it took me til about 4 months to really have the stamina to make it through a whole day without being exhausted. I have to agree with the poster about feeling better about my lifelong wedding photos of me being a smaller size. I always felt beautiful as a big girl but the change shows in smiles in pictures just as much

    Itching.

This happened to me about 3 months out from my skin tightening from the weight loss the only reason I knew that was because it happened to me in basic training but just on the belly from the weight loss and toning so quick
  20. I have been slow all along. I was a lower bmi but at 7 months out I've lost 60 lbs and 25 were in the first month. I am thankfulnfor the slow loss as I do not have any major issues with extra skin. Although my stomach is starting to get a little just from being stretched out fat for so long. Ill admit it is frustrating and I see way more changes in my measurements and body than I do on the scale. I run three times a week and throw in weights and insanity in between. I still only eat 6-800 calories but I do mostly Proteins and about 80 oz of Water. And even tried the whole invrease my calories trick and nothing so I just stick with the everyday plan and slowly but surely its coming off and staying off. Many people talk about slowing down at 6 months or after ur honeymoon period. Well I never had that awesome honeymoon compared to a lot but I am just as slow and steady as I was month 2 so ill take that anyday with no signs of stopping. My advice is only visit the scale every once on a while and do what u are supossed to and embrace the changes that your body is about to gp through even if it is slow. I know I will get there and you can too!

    I cant eat T.T

Do u mean basic training by military camp? If this is the case you do get more than 2 min to eat and no they are not going to let you keep food with you or eat when others don't. They probably are not going to make a medical exception either...there are plenty of other people that wanna be there that won't hinder the training schedule. If u are 10 mon ths out I woyld think u woyld be able to get enough to do fine the hydration is more important. I was on a restricted diet during basic to lose more weight (prior to vsg) and was allowed fish and veggies...not many calories and I did fine. I just wouldn't want you to expect them to make any accomadations when their only concern is training you to be a part of the team the same as everyone else. If you don't feel like you can do it without accomadation I would wait a bit longer if I were u
  22. At 4 1/2 months I still have to add a splash of diet low sugar juice to my water otherwise I throw up. Also if it isn't over ice or ice cold it hurts my tummy. I have accepted this is how it will be for me for a while
  23. I starting losing a ton at 3 months luckily I started taking biotin at 2 months and have had a lot of new regrowth despite the loss. My scalp has been sore for about a month and a half. It is much better when I keep it down. I also use the clear scalp shampoo love it! But have to skip the conditionwr cuz its too much for my hair. I went two weeks ago and had some blnde foils in my dark brown hair and it helps disguise the thin spots perfectly. I continue to take the biotin and have hope from all the spiking hair along my hairline from new growth. Hopefully I am through the worse at 4.5 mnths
  24. I also add just a splash of apple juice or my fave is diet cranberry grape. I am almost 4 months out and every once in a while try water plain to see if I tolerate it yet but no such luck. I can do crystal light too but abot abhalf packet per bottle and all of my drinks have to be ice cold

    chug

Im almost 4 months out and can take decent sized drinks now and I am thirsty all the time and drink constantly. I feel like I am one who will never even get to gulp let alone chug it hurts way too much. It even hurts if I take too many drinks too close together. So I just keep drinking away little by little
