  1. Hello to all sleevers!! It has been a very long time since I have posted here. Lately I’ve been lurking around because I have some questions regarding being re-sleeved. First let me give you some back story. I was sleeved about 7 years ago. Had amazing success! I did self pay in Mexico through a surgeon in Cancun Dr Perez. He was a wonderful the surgery went well I had no complication or issues. Lost tons of weight and kept it off. I am now pregnant with my second child and most likely my last. I have definitely put on some weight in the last two years mostly due to pregnancies but I have definitely noticed I am able to eat so much more and so much more often then I used too. I was also aware that my surgeon at that time did not use the smallest bougie but a little larger one because bmi was on the lower end. I hope I can just get the remaining weight off myself but in case I gain more or I can’t get my restriction back I would like to look into options into re-sleeving. Or at least what surgeons are available to do it? What the costs are for re-sleeving now? Anyone have good or bad experiences.? My Old coordinators email is not active anymore (it’s been 7 years) but she was amazing she also lined up surgery for my mom and best friend who also did self pay in Mexico and had amazing results and are maintaining. I wouldn’t be considering surgery till June or July of 2019. But I wanted to start doing some research now and wanted to get all the info necessary for me to make an informed decision if I needed too. Oh and to all of you in doubt or planning to get sleeved but debating....it was the best damn thing I ever did changed my entire life!! I felt amazing had tons of energy and was committed to living a healthy lifestyle. It is just a tool but if you utilize it you will reap great benefits! If anyone out there has any info you can help me with or any coordinators you recommend I can reach out to inquire more info I would really appreciate any response. Thanks in advance!
  2. Thank you so much! Any particular surgeon you would recommend?
  3. Thank you so much for responding! I’m so glad surgery second time around was successful and your losing weight. If you don’t mind me asking where and who did you get your re-sleeping done from and what were your costs this time around?
  4. No I have not. Is that mini gastric bypass? I don’t think I am interested in that as I don’t have much more to lose and just want a touch up on my sleeve if possible. I have emailed you with my questions
  5. Hi Bill is their an email I can contact you at where I can send you my questions and get more information on surgery?

    Where to go?

Hey I’m from bc Canada and I got surgery almost 7 years ago in Cancun. My mom and best friend both went to Tijuana and also had great success. Do your research reach out to people who have had recent success stories everyone is different and has different stories. If you relatively a healthy person besides being overweight I think the risk is low but again it’s always a risk.

    pregnancy after sleeve

Hi Denise.saad82! I am about 4 years post op and having my first baby I've gained 30 lbs so far I'm about 31 weeks. My biggest concern is were you able to lose weight while breastfeeding? If not did the weight come off easily after? Anyone with experience with weight loss after the baby? Seems like everyone has been struggling, my pre pregnancy was 135 and I want to easily get back down to that If not lower. Anyone have a positive experience where they went below pre pregnancy after the baby with breastfeeding? Look forward to hearing others responses!

I have a friend that may want to come down in aug and do sleeve surgery was just wondering what was the price you were quoted if you dont mind me asking/?? Thanks and I wish you best of luck its the best choice you ever made!! A
  9. Hi everyone, I've been on this forum for probably about a month now and just got sleeved about 5 days ago. I normally don't post things but I felt this was a very important experience and a great one as well especially about my doctor whom their isn't much info about in the forums yet. I had my surgery in Mexico in Cancun with Dr. Hector Perez. AMAZING doctor, very well educated as well as very knowledgeable about the sleeve process. He has been doing surgeries for over 7 years and is one of the top rated bariatric surgeons in cancun. He speak perfect english as do all the other doctors I came across (anesthesiologist, cardiologist and even some of the nurses) I stayed at Clinic Victoria which was a very CLEAN and modern hospital. I think it may be a private hospital but I had a very spacious private room. After surgery they kept me medicated every 2 hours and to be honest and didn't really feel pain, just the gas pain everyone talked about but it wasn't too bad either. My incisions are quite small and I've already noticed them dulling down already. The great thing about doctor Perez is that he not only staples the stomach but also sutures it as well to ensure no leak will happen. He is a VERY confident doctor and knows exactly what he's doing. I was discharged after two days he gave me gatarade and juices for the next few days. I was fine just did a lot of walking. I am back home now and feel pretty good. The reason for my post was mainly to let people know that its not scary in mexico at all actually I felt more cared for then I ever have at any Canadian hospital. They have top notch equipment as well. I was very nervous in the beginning but an absolute amazing experience. My recommendation if anyone wants to have the sleeve done in mexico. Go with Dr. Perez! Your welcome to msg me privately if you have any questions. Good luck to all of you!
  10. Hey FaBby 40 Sorry for the late reply I haven't been online in ages. I am doing great! I lost over 45 lbs but I didn't have much to loose either. I still want to loose another ten but I have had no complications and have been feeling great. I have found that my hair is thinning a little but I heard that a normal side effect. Overall no complications my scars have almost gone and you can barely see them and its been 6 months only. By this summer hopefully I'll be in my bikini ever haha! I can eat everything but just in small quantities or portions so I haven't really restricted myself from anything. But I know some people may have more to lose so definitely stick to a good food plan. Also I never realized how much head hunger I had till after the surgery so that's something you need watch for. Make sure you take all your vitamins. I have been doing B12 injections once a week that's been helping me. I have a friend who is thinking of going as well. I was wondering what rate you were quoted? Hope that answers what you were looking for. Goodluck with surgery your going to love it!
  11. Actually my situation was a little different. I have a low bmi (31) and they said I didn't need to do a pre op diet I just cant eat anything too heavy the night before and need to keep and empty stomach for 9 hours before surgery. I'm actually be at a wedding the night before so I'm gonna try to keep dinner simple and have not of fluids that day. Most people have had to do a pre op diet. I actually booked the surgery less then 2 weeks ago so it was kinda last minute. But I'm pretty healthy otherwise so Dr. Perez said it would be fine.
  12. Yea I know what you mean definitely a tough decision. I am getting sleeved Aug 15 so I will definitely keep you updated on the experience, surgery, hotel, hospital etc. My mom just confirmed today and will be getting sleeved on Aug 29 in TJ. I will keep you updated on her experience as well and hopefully that will help in your decision.
  13. No my mom is actually going to be in TJ with Dr.Garcia. She is having a band to sleeve surgery. The flights were cheaper to get to TJ then Cancun, We are coming from Canada. It worked out well for me because I am going to be in Cancun for a wedding and vacation anyways that's why I booked with Dr. Perez. Yes I will definitely keep you updated!
  14. I will be going to Cancun to see Dr. Hector Perez for surgery.
  15. I believe he was having a summer special. Try inquiring now, I was quoted $5550. I'm getting sleeved exactly one week from today! I'm excited nervous etc. I'll let you know how it goes if your interested in using Dr. Perez. My mom is getting sleeved on Aug 29 with Dr. Garcia I've heard good things about him as well.
  16. Has Secretsleeve posted on her experience? Is there any way of getting in touch with her?
  17. My BMI is 31. I don't have that much too lose. Approx 50 to 60 lbs. I don't think I've ever been that small but generally I am healthy. No medical concerns. I'm 26. I'm actually going to be on another resort so will be leaving from there on the morning of the 15th and arranging a ride to cancun. I'm about 50 min outside of cancun. After surgery 2 nights at the hospital and then one night at the hotel. I am planning to return to the original resort and then fly back on the sunday with the group I came with. They don't know I'm going for surgery I'm wondering if I should tell someone just in case. My mom is the only one that knows but she's not going to be in mexico.
  18. Hey Faith4me Yeah the post op pain is what worries me a little too. Well I am planning to take a laptop with me hopefully wi-fi is available. I will def post my experience up and let you know how it all went. I've been reading up on Dr. Perez he's been in the doing surgeries for a while and just joined their Cancun team which is a new setup. Are you doing a pre op diet of some sort? Alma told me I didn't need to do anything. Is this normal?
  19. Hi I just joined the forum. My name's Anita. I came across your thread and noticed you are booked with Dr. Perez. I am planning to book surgery with him on aug 15. I am travelling alone as well. I am REALLY nervous and feel I might be rushing it. But I'm going to be in mexico anyways for a friends wedding in puerto morelos so thought I would just do it. I am coming from Canada. Basically I just wanna know if anyone else has had experiences with Dr. Perez. How was the surgery? Recovery? Hospital and Staff. If you could share your experience that would be amazing!
