I Think I Am Too Tight

Yeah if I start seeing some better results on the scale it will be worth it. Also once I get used to all of this eating I should be okay I think.

I Think I Am Too Tight

I went in today. I have a 10cc band and am currently at 5ccs. He basically said to just eat smaller amount (half a cup of food) or whatever I can get down within 30-45 minutes and call it good. He said if I was still having a lot of problems to come back but I have an appt in January already set up. I guess I just need to adjust myself. Portions, bite sizes, chewing and time I take to eat. I just feel so hungry though and I am trying not to snack. Its hard.

I Think I Am Too Tight

Yeah I went to the office this morning and he said that a cup of food is too much if I am getting stuck and to just eat less slower. I almost got stuck with a pudding the other day... so I don't know. He didn't want to take any out so I guess I just have to adjust myself more. Its just hard because I am starving but feel like I can't eat. I try not to snack but when you are this hungry it almost feels like you need to.

I Think I Am Too Tight

I guess I just don't know if its normal for a 2nd fill to feel a lot tighter. I have even gotten hiccups more than normal and I guess that should be a sign because I remember them saying that is an indicator.

2Nd Fill And I Cant Keep Food Down, Help

I knew I was supposed to do liquids for the first night but thought I would be okay with a mushie food.... thanks for the advice. Sometimes it helps to hear it from others. I guess its me and protein shakes for the next 2 days lol
  6. So Thursday I had my 2nd fill... dr put in 2cc so now I am at 5 in a 10cc band. After my first fill I was able to eat okay and after about 3 weeks had a few stuck episodes from eating too fast and not chewing enough. Now however I can't really get much down. I tried eating soft food the first night and after 5 bites I was so stuck it took 2 hrs but it all came back up. Then Friday I decided all liquids and was able to get down a pudding for lunch. I was also able to eat a little Pasta for dinner but it took an hour to eat a cup of food. This morning I woke up thinking maybe I could get something down so I tried a ham rollup and after 2 bites I was stuck again. I am eating slow and chewing well but I am afraid I won't be able to get anything down. I am afraid to try anything at this point aside from my Protein shake. Did anyone else have this experience? Will it get better after a few days or should I call Monday to get some taken out? Help please!

I Got A Fill - Now Food Seems To Pass Easier

After my 1st fill I felt that way for the 1st 3 weeks then all of a sudden I felt a lot more restriction and started having "stuck" episodes. Before every meal I have to remind myself to eat slow and chew lots or I get stuck. I am going in for a 2nd fill today but I will be addressing this with my Dr. Good luck to you!

    2Nd Fill And Concerned

I am scheduled for my 2nd fill on Thursday. I was banded 8/8/12 and am down 30 lbs. I have plateaued over this last month and have not lost a thing. Part of this is poor habits and another part is I have been crazy busy (just got married 11/16). I am trying to get back in the swing of things and start following all of my rules again but I am nervous about this fill. My last one made me feel nauseous for about 2 days and I have had multiple "stuck" episodes since then. I have to constantly remind myself to eat slow and chew more but it seems like by the time I remember its too late and I am in pain. Will getting a fill help me or just make these things harder to control? How do I correct my rule breaking? Any suggestions are welcome please!

    2Nd Fill And Concerned

Thank you all so much. I definitely needed some positive inspiration!

    Why

I just discovered rice to be an enemy. I can't eat bread unless its toasted but I have done okay with pancakes as long as I eat slow. I have been stuck many times recently so before every meal I have to coach myself to eat slow and chew a lot!

    1St Fill & Feeling Okay

I had my first fill on Thursday 10/4. I got 3cc in a 10cc band. When I was getting ready to leave I mentioned to the doc that I felt nauseous so they made me sit and drink some Water to make sure everything went down okay. It did so I was able to leave. I felt that way most of the night and a little on Friday but I woke up today feeling pretty good. I didn't eat much yesterday because I didn't feel the greatest but today I am going to try and meet my calorie amount if possible. I was a little nervous about the needle but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. Did anyone else feel like this after their first fill or is that just me?
  12. I am 5 1/2 weeks out and I am having a terrible time finding stuff to eat. I feel so bored with food lately which has caused me to make a few bad choices and I really want to do better than I have this last week. I am a very picky eater as it is so that doesn't help. If anyone can offer up some quick & easy food options I would appreciate it. I just don't want to screw this up!

    Struggling With Meal Plans

Sorry I guess the do/don't lists seem pretty big but you're right lol. I don't do onions ever. I dislike tomatoes mushrooms peppers celery melons and a few other minor things. I do like cottage cheese but I am bored with it. I am bored with pudding and Jello as well. I guess I have a tough time with quick to make meals. By meal time I feel like I am starving and just want to eat now rather than waiting to cook a nice meal or in the morning I am in a rush to get out the door I don't take the time to cook. My liquids during the day do not keep me full feeling so by meal time I just want to eat and not think about it. Any tips on how to avoid this?

    Help! Am I "stuck"?????

I am about 4 1/2 weeks out of surgery and today I woke up feeling terribly sick to my stomach. I feel nauseaus and I just want to curl up in a ball and go back to sleep but of course I am at work. I have heard stories about being "stuck" and I am wondering if that's what is going on. Yesterday I had a piece of french toast for Breakfast. Then for lunch I made a blended chocolate/peanutbutter smoothie (milk, Protein shake mix, ice & 1 table spoon of peanutbutter). For dinner I had a grilled cheese sandwich and some tomato Soup. I felt like my day went pretty well but I was very full after dinner. This was my first time really eating bread and now I am wondering if it was a bad idea. Any tips or ideas? I haven't had any fills yet - my first one will be Oct 4th. And I am already down 23 pounds since I started my journey in June. Thanks

    Help! Am I "stuck"?????

This was the first time I have had bread since getting banded that's why I was scared. My diet usually consists of a Protein shake for breakfast (sometimes a yogurt too) then yogurt and fruit for lunch with a sugar free pudding and for dinners I have been doing different veggie combinations with some chicken or something a little filling. I have had Pasta a couple times and did okay. But like I said it was the first time I have had bread and I felt like I over did it. I felt very full lady night. Today I feel nauseaus and do have some chest pain but I drank my Protein Shake earlier and did have any issues. I just don't want to add to the issue by earring more. Also I very rarely vomit when I am sick usually just the big D but none of that either so idk if its viral. Thanks for all the advice.

    Help Please!!

I was banded on August 8th. When I first made the decision I only told my parents and 2 close friends. After I got the logistics worked out I told my boss and then about a week before surgery when I knew nothing was going to stop me I started telling the rest of my coworkers more friends & family. Now that I have been banded I am so happy with my decision and progress that I don't care who knows. Its really on you though... if you think you want to tell people just do but if you want to keep it to yourself then do that! Good luck to you! Sent from my DROID Pro using LapBandTalk

    What Did You Say?

I remember trying to find a clock but didn't have my glasses so I couldn't see. My surgery got started a few hours late due to a back up so my first question was "what time is it?" Then I said "does my mom know I am okay?" I was so worried about her having to drive the 45 minutes back home in the dark I didn't even care how I felt. Sent from my DROID Pro using LapBandTalk

  19. I was a belly sleeper and I am just curious.... will I be able to sleep on my belly again? If so how long did it take others before they could again?? I am 10 days post op now and this side & back sleeping is driving me nuts. Not to mention I have had a gas bubble caught in my shoulder for 4 days so I can't sleep on my left side because it makes the pain unbearable. Just looking for some help here. Thanks Sent from my DROID Pro using LapBandTalk

Belly Sleep Question - 10 Days Post Op

I have been getting up and moving quite a bit... I actually pulled a muscle in my lower stomach from doing to much activity so I have had to tone it down a but and focus on healing. I have actually had gas pains in my shoulder like this before so I am not surprised that most of my issue is there, I just hope it goes away soon. I tried sleeping in my bed last night, opposed to the couch and that was an epic failure. I could not get comfortable and barely slept a wink. At least on the couch I can comfortably sleep on my back and shift my head from side to side so I am not restrained to one position. Thank you all for the advice! 21. Did anyone else experience this? I have been following the liquid diet and I am having a hard time getting in all the Water I am supposed to be drinking but I just feel so hungry in the lower part of my stomach. It keeps growling & growling and I feel like I am starving myself. I tried getting more water in today and that didn't make a difference. I also tried sipping some tomato Soup (a couple days ahead of time) and it seemed like it worked for a little while but now I am getting that hungry feeling gain. I have drinking my Protein shakes and everything else. Not sure if this is normal or if I should be concerned.... mostly I am annoyed. Sent from my DROID Pro using LapBandTalk
  22. I was banded on 8/8 and I totally feel the same way about smelling food. My pre op diet I did great as well but the last few days I have been overly thinking about all my favorite foods and how much I want them. Its driving me nuts. Especially when I have been having crazy hunger pains. I like you have not been getting enough Water but today I was able to do more and I feel like each day I will keep doing better. Keep your chin up & just remember what your ultimate goal is. We will all make it through this together! Sent from my DROID Pro using LapBandTalk
  23. I have had gas pain in my shoulder / collarbone all day today too. I was banded on 8/8 as well. All I can think is rest and the ideas about the heating pad are great I just don't have one. I hope you feel better soon! Xoxo Sent from my DROID Pro using LapBandTalk

    Day 2 Post Op..

I am at day 6 and yeah the first couple of days were tough. Just keep fighting through it. The more you get up and move around the better you will feel. And yeah the pain med I am on made me real drowsy too so I took frequent naps the first 3 days. I am now not taking it so regularly. Keep your chin up and keep reminding yourself of your goal line and how much closer you are to getting there! Sent from my DROID Pro using LapBandTalk

So Hungry - 5 Days Post Op

Well just take note from that and wait a few days before trying that again. I have noticed eating more often has been helping. Its tough. I just want to eat solid food so bad but I keep telling myself it will all be worth it. Sent from my DROID Pro using LapBandTalk
