No not the EGD it was definitely not that... It was the Upoer GI I had to do a Barium Swallow while they took various X-rays... Maybe they were a little too thorough I will go through step by step what mine entailed so others can compare. 1. I was given CO2 crystals (think pop rocks)a medicine cup full and was told to throw in back of throat and chase with a medicine cup of Water. This produces gas in order to expand digestive track. They told me not to burp but it makes you feel like you have to so you just have to keep swallowing air.They take 1 X-ray 2. Immmediately after they give me thick Barium to swallow and take more X-rays . 3. They laid table down and ask me to log roll 360 for a total of 3 times to cost stomach with barium. I shift side to side a well and they take more X-rays. 4. They have be lie on stomach and give me the 2nd barium solution the thin one and make me sip with a straw while on my stomach and take more X-rays . 5. They stand me back up and take a few more X-rays . Keep in mind they went through all of these 5 steps in about 15 minutes so that they could get the best images with the gas and the barium in my stream before it started to dump out. I don't know what anyone else's Upper GI entailed so please share:) I am thinking it was a little overkill on the part of the radiologist.

Do you have wide hips? I have a friend who is 5'7 and 135 and the smallest she has ever worn is a 9/10 she definitely has those " childbearing hips" she is skinny just wide at the hips and it is not fat.I know what it is to be size obsessed. I am preop but in my late teens I was an 8 and I want to try and see if I can get down to a 4 post op and I am 5'2 and a 16 now idk if it is ever gonna happen but I am going to try anyways.

You were on vacation, I know once I am sleeved if I go on vacation my diet will be a little more lax as well.I am lucky my hubs is an exercise junkie but he eats like a beast and I have already let him know that has got to stop lol.

Well put Bean... My husband basically said there is a 1% chance of a major complication which means a 99% chance I will be fine. I am trying to get there and stay there lol

Are you having your surgery @ an MTF ? Our MTF (SAMMC)requires 2 forms of BC and they ask u to wait 18-24 months. They still want me to use BC and my husband had a vasectomy... I am not sure what they are trying to imply lol

Has anyone tried those MIO drops you add to water bottles? I always see them but have never heard anything as far as whether or not they are good??I end up grabbing what I know lol

Is it easier to go to mexico than to find your nearest MTF?I am just curious because if you have Tri Care they cover it at an MTF (reason why is complicated) The Bariatric Clinic at the MTF here in San Antonio is a Self Referral Clinic.You come here for the seminar and you get your checklist and you can complete some of the items on your checklist(like 3 mos NUT) wherever you live...I met a girl at the Seminar that drives from Oklahoma.According to the information I received on August 1st.You can qualify if you have BMI over 40 with no co morbidities and you can also qualify with a BMI 35-40 with only 1 co morbidity like hypertention,diabetes or sleep apnea(new change ).I hope this helps Here is the link for the MTF near me...http://www.bamc.amedd.army.mil/departments/surgery/bariatric/
