My Suggestion-Stop The Obsessing. Rules Are Meant To Be Broken
Kalimomof3 replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just hate words like never an always and there are people on these forums that say they are never going to eat .... again. Then if they do they beat and berate themselves over it and if they post about it from what I have seen on this forum there are plenty of others that are willing to join in on the berating.I know I will follow my Doctor's order to the T in the beginning through all of the phases however I know I can't honestly say I will never or I will always anything.I feel I would be setting myself up for feelings of failure which is more dangerous to me than 1 bite of anything. -

A "Mommy Makeover" is usually Boobs either lift or augmentation or both and Tummy Tuck. they may be able to add another short procedure but depends on surgeons. -

That is good. My support group leader drinks Believe Protein Drinks and they have 2 coffee flavors I am not sure about caffeine if it had it or not but out program allows it after a few months.

Are you at least drinking the Skinny Starbucks drinks? I am pre op but I have tried the Skinny vanilla latte and it is good and so is the Skinny Cinnamon Dolce or even the Skinny Carmel macchiato. You will still be consuming calories from the milk but it won't be as bad. 4lbs per week loss isn't what I would call slow I would definitely take that. Also at what weight did you start at ? I have noticed that those who start lower seem to lose slower as well. The scale is moving in the right direction at least:) If you give up your Starbucks or skinny it down it may move even faster.

The Only Protein Drink I Can Tolerate
Kalimomof3 replied to SoonToBeThinKAT's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Has anyone tried the Believe Protein drinks? I know some have caffeine which some of us don't do but they have a creme brûlée flavor that does not... I am thinking about ordering from Bariatric Eating website. My support group leader who is post RNY was drinking a Mocha latte one and she said it was good but I haven't seen anyone on here comment on them ??? -

High Protein "snack" Ideas.... Lets Start A List To Refer To When We Need Ideas
Kalimomof3 replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Idk if all of you eat Avocado but my Nut program recommends them. I am preop but this is one of the recipes I make and I imagine I will be able to eat this when released to full food after surgery 10 oz canned tuna drained 1/2 medium avocado mashed well 2 cloves garlic pressed Salt&pepper to taste It makes a bunch but I just use 2 oz or so at a time and eat on cucumber slices. You could eat sliced bell pepper with or celery or anything . The recipe sounded gross to me at first but I tried it anyway and was pleasantly surprised:) -

Kalimomof3 replied to timetobefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi All, I am Kali I am 32 and married with 3 kids ages 4,6&7. I was originally thinking I would be sleeved in October but due to thyroid issues was delayed. I will be getting my thyroid re checked (cross our fingers it is all good)and attending my last NUT on October 15th and then I will be done with my checklist.I will be sleeved at San Antonio Military Medical Center and the wait is not long after checklist is complete. Let's do this November:) -
I know I said my favorite was Walmart Great Value cottage cheese but I didn't say why..I should've preempted that with I normally hate Walmart brand stuff. What I like about their small curd cottage cheese is that curds are really small and it seems more creamy vs milky and wet if any of you used to eat Kroeger CC back in the day before it got all milky like it is now but this is more like that.I like it topped with salsa or with sweet tomato slices.

I think there is also one called "achieving through sleeving" or something like that....

My Suggestion-Stop The Obsessing. Rules Are Meant To Be Broken
Kalimomof3 replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Read the 6th? Paragraph down and he puts a caveat in there and he says "based on feedback from this post" He clearly states that the little bit he added to his original post is based on some feedback on that very post. How do you perceive this to be deceitful when he clearly states what he has done? I don't think I either completely agree or disagree with what he has posted but I get the feeling that you disagree and are just T'd off...but idk -

My Teenage Daughter Is Jealous
Kalimomof3 replied to jennrus's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Do you think that your removal of all junk food from the house is causing her to binge eat? I am only saying this because she is 15 and obviously could get ahold of junk food if she wants it.Unfortunatley children tend to mimic their parents eating habits and if she has spent 14 years of her life mimicking yours pre surgery it will be hard to change in her without her having surgery since she hasn't gone through the process you did.I have 2 teenage stepdaughters and when they came to live with us their eating habits were a mess because they ate like their mother...I am not the healthiest eater but we don't keep near as much junk or allow our children to eat a lot of junk as their mom did. At 12 and 14 it was a huge adjustment and we did not ban all junk but we found they had been buying candy at school and eating it on the walk home and stashing wrappers lots of them.We sat them down and had a talk about healthy eating and how I was overweight because I was never really taught to exercise control over what or much junk I should put in my mouth.I have struggled with my weight a long time so I wanted to make sure that my children did not follow my footsteps so while I don't forbid junk food I do limit quantities. I would let them have a small bag of chips after school or a candy bar but not BOTH and then a healthy choice like an apple.Once they understood where I was coming from they really got it and started to like the moderation of it. I just think that at 15 it is hard to remove all junk cold turkey it makes junkfood probably more appealing to a teenager. I have 3 young children too and I do most of my worst eating after they go to bed.I give them primarily healthy foods but they get treats of ice cream or chips and normal junkfood regularly but not daily and I hope that having surgery while they are young they never notice any of my pre surgery habits.Children eat what they are taught and obviously at 15 if you need to tweak your daughters habits it is more like re wiring an adult and will be more o a struggle so talk openly with her about it and what your worries are and maybe let her choose the healthy food she likes and a couple of junky things that ate just for her it may help<3 -
