Though it sounds like dumping it also sounds like food poisoning. Eggs and cheese are notorious. You may want to just keep and eye on the quality of your food and not just the type.

What Is Your Eating Timeline?
Jbtoby replied to letsdothis!!!'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My diet was the same up the purees. They are for 6 weeks. This is the schedule I got from both my surgeon's office and the hospital nutrionist. I am in the second week of pureed foods and so far so good so I will probably stick with what they have suggested. Down 33 pounds as of today. -
My doctor did not require any pre-op diet except the day before - clear liquids and I did not even do that completely. One fall back is not going to hurt. I think the sugar-free jello is definitely a great idea. It can be a life saver.

Lessons Learned At The Mexican Restaurant

Congratulations, I am only 3 weeks in and have not been out yet but your experience gives me hope that life will look a little normal further down the road. -

Anewme, I had the same issue in my house. My partner made bacon, lettuce and tomato and I actually had to leave because of the smell of the bacon. Nothing else has made my mouth Water but the smell of the bacon was more than I could take.

I was sleeved on May 21st. My doctor did not require a pre-op diet so I am just starting from that point but I am down 27 pounds. However, I am not certain it is going that well. I am nauseous a lot of the time and have had almost constant bouts of diarrhea. Eating has become a drama - I am definitely not getting enough Protein but the more I drink the sicker I feel. Anyone else have anything like this?

I am only two weeks out so this is not from my own experience but I spoke to a number of sleevers and bypass friends who had the surgery years ago and this was their biggest complaint - not being able to eat as much as they used to. Even ten years out, one friend cannot get an entire appetizer down in one sitting. However, not anyone of them would go back. This is what got us in trouble before.

Terrified Of Anaesthesia!
Jbtoby replied to lunabella007's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I had my gall bladder removed 5 years ago I remember feeling anxiety as they wheeled me into the operating room. However when I was sleeved two weeks ago they had me walk into the operating room. There were also others walking into their operating rooms. We wished each other good luck!! Once in the operating room I stepped up onto the operating table and was out within a few minutes. I think we feel lack of control in hospitals because we are told what to do all the time. Make certain you speak to your doctor and the anesthesiologist about your fears. They may be able to make small changes that help you feel less helpless. Good luck. -

Does Removing The Drain Hurt

I had mine removed yesterday. No pain but it does feel weird. It only takes 10 seconds to pull it out. -
Surgery Yesterday
Jbtoby replied to DinaMiller6450's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may be moving too fast. The day after my surgery I was only allowed an ounce of water per hour. Plain water or ice chips. It was not until the day after that I was allowed clear liquids with flavoring and I had to drink those very slowly to avoid nausea. One or two ounces an hour. Give yourself time. It will come slowly. -
I am in my fifties. My family is very supportive because I think they were afraid I would die at 58 of a heart attack as my father did. I have been very lucky. Don't let them wear you down. You need to do what is right for you. Some of us cannot keep the weight off without assistance.

I have something called WonderSlim that I got online. It comes in individual packets in a box. Each packet has 12-15 grams of Protein. There are clear drinks and creamy flavors. Good luck.

I would carry a flavored Protein powder in its original packet and an empty Water bottle. You can get water on the plane or in the airport and mix it together. Once you are past security you should be OK. I would also carry a letter from your doctor explaining what is going on. It may just quiet any TSA issues.

Please do not take this as any kind of criticism - I am a week post op and still trying to absorb all of the information. My doctor and the hospital gave me very specific instructions about what to eat. At six weeks I will still be on pureed foods. I will be able to eat eggs but bacon and hash browns would have to be pureed. I am not allowed any solid food for at least eight weeks. Maybe they are overly cautious and maybe I will not stick to this. You may need to take a step back to softer food if this continues.

Confused About Clear Fluids...
Jbtoby replied to Dizzle's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Though protein powder makes the liquid cloudy it is still considered clear liquid as long as you mix it with water or some other clear liquid like broth.
