Hello From The Newbie In The Carolinas
ho11ieberry06 commented on Geechee Girl's blog entry in Geechee Girl's Blog
Hey there! When I was reading your entry my mouth fell open because it's my story too. I was always very active growing up and into my early twenty's. Then I got married, had back surgery, got divorced, moved to a new town and all that stress and emotional roller coaster, I gained A LOT of weight and it's just out of control. So, I have decided that surgery is the best route for me. I'm still at the pre-op phase of my journey and if everything goes right I should be having surgery sometime in October. It's nice to know there is someone out there that I can relate to. Good luck on your journey and keep up the good work! Holly -
One of the requirements with my insurance co. before I have surgery is that I must lose 10% of my body weight. I'm really having a hard time. Anyone else struggling with this or had to go through the same thing? Any tips you can share with me would be great. Holly

Huge Nsv..in A Small Package

I loved your story! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful memory. -
I am also to be supervised for 6 months before surgery as well as talk to a case manager with the insurance co once a month. Along with that I have to see the weight doctor once a month and all the other stuff you've had to do. I am praying that at the end of the 6 months, the insurance co. doesn't come back and say i didn't do something right or that i'm missing stuff. It's so annoying! I just want to be able to have everything go smoothly. Keeping my fingers crossed for you Holly

So I'm in search for a good protein powder to use. Any suggestions on a good brand with the right nutrients and also a good price? Thanks, Holly

I am still in the pre-approval stage with my insurance. I am trying very hard to go through all the steps that are required and to also get myself ready for after surgery. One of the things that I struggle with is motivation to exercise. It's not actually doing the exercise that is the hard part it's the "getting there" that I struggle with. I have a major fear of being judged. One of the things that I love doing is swimming laps. But in order for me to get to the pool I have to have this major internal dialog with myself and convince myself to go. I hate it so much! Does anyone else deal with this and if so, do you have any advice to make going to the gym or exercising easier?

Ok thank you for the suggestions, I'll look into them. -
How exciting for you! I am really glad to hear such a positive story. I'm nervous about my surgery but it puts me at ease to hear stories like yours.

Thanks for the comment! I do live very close to the pool I use, which is nice. I guess I have to do what you say, and try to trick myself into going. Changing right away is a good idea too. Thanks!

Worried About Breast Implants And Saggy Skin
ho11ieberry06 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone, my name is Holly and I am in the process of getting approved for surgery in the fall. I have to take all these steps with my insurance company first, before I can have my surgery. If everything goes right I should be able to have my surgery in October, so I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I have a couple questions though. I have breast implants and I'm worried about what will happen when I lose weight, I'm wondering if anyone else is going through this or has been through this that could give me some input? Also, I'm worried about having sagging skin. Anyone else worried or have any tips? Hope to make some new friends here on this journey. Good luck to everyone out there with your own journey! Holly -
