Thank you all for making me feel so much better
-
Well I bought three packs and I'm tight on money so I'm sticking with them until they're gone.

Since I can't stomach shakes right now and it takes me so long to get one down I'm off to Walmart to get these shots that are 2oz and contain 45grams of protein. Hopefully they help because I'm desperate for an alternative to shakes. Has anyone ever tried this?

Hello all, I am three days post-op and I have lost 14lbs. I'm experiencing gas pain, I feel it rumbling when I move, swallow, and lay down. I was wondering if any one else experienced this or if I should go back to the hospital. It's also taking me a little over an hour to finish a protein shake and I am worried that that's too slow. Any advice would be great.

Thank you ladies, I'm just down because I feel like I'll never be normal again. I guess it's because I'm in pain and limited to what I can consume because I'm healing.

How Long Before Normal Lifting?
RissyRoe replied to lcle1234's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor told me a week, I'm 5 days post-op and I'm back to work as a nurse assistant already. -
So lastnight I thought I'd try something different so I made Campbells cream of chicken soup and strained it. It was on my list if approved liquids. A couple of hours later I had two tiny licks of sugar free low calorie vanilla ice cream. About two bites in I had a horrible pain in my chest and boom I had to go to the bathroom. I had diarrhea and nausea for about a half hour. Then I felt better so I went to sleep. I just woke up feeling nauseous, and then I had diarrhea. Has anyone ever experienced this?

You look amazing! Congratulations!

Don't worry, when you finally start it will just drop off of you in incriments. You'll have a few stalls but you'll be ok

How Long Do We Need To Continue Protein Shakes?
RissyRoe replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon told me just for a few months while we learn what works and what doesn't. I'm going to continue taking protein shots daily for quite awhile though. -
Thankfully I had one a couple days ago and I feel sooooo much better and I'm farting whenever I can lol

I think it's normal because I'm experiencing the same thing and so is a few others. Hang in there.

Is Keeping The Secret Possible?
RissyRoe replied to Nikki613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought about keeping it a secret at first, but now I'm proud of the decision I made because I made one of the toughest decisions ever to get healthy and I took the initiative to get my health back on track. All in all it's your decision but you're making a good one by doing this and it takes a lot of strength. -
I stop drinking when I get a bad pain in my stomach. I've never actually felt "full".

Day 5 Post-Op Heartburn, Refluz And Indigestion.
RissyRoe replied to midnightmama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how you feel, my stomach can't handle protein today so I'm drinking Gatorade all day and sucking on sugar free ice pops to keep hydrated. I have a burp in my stomach that hurts but it won't come up. -
When Will I Feel Myself Again?
RissyRoe replied to polandspring's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know I feel the same way and I'm 5 days post-op. I've heard from many people though that they have all felt this way and every thing that we are feeling is normal. Although I'm tired and weak and dizzy right now I know that I'm not alone and that makes me feel a little better. My friend is 14 months post-op and she said the first month is hell and then it gets better and better. She's eating everything she did before just in smaller amounts and she's this tiny little thing. When I talked to her it made me feel better. Hope I helped. -

Sleeved 30Th July - Day 5

I'm having the same problems -
I'm thrilled with the 16 pounds I've lost since my surgery 4 days ago, but in a sense I'm starting to think, "I messed up by doing this, I ruined my life". I know that I'm still under a week post-op and the full liquid stage is miserable but does it truly get better like I've been told? Do you ever feel normal again with the only difference that you lost a lot of weight and can't eat as much as you used to? I've been kind of sulking all day because I'm still gassy, I don't have much energy, and the liquids are boring. I'm so afraid that I'll feel this way the rest if my life and I won't get to enjoy life itself. It seems like all I'm doing is worrying about getting enough fluids and protein in. Any encouragement would be great, I'm in a funk :/
