What are the symtoms of band slippage or ripped stitches
Fritzy1980 replied to baba's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In 2 days, I will have my 2 year banding anniversary. If you're anything like me, every new sensation will freak you out a bit mentally. I, however, knew that I would have these moments. I have had no issues with or because of my band aside from heart burn. A small unfill fixed that. Don't let every little thing freak you out. Unless you are having severe discomfort, pain or can't keep anything down, you're probably fine. It will take a while to get used to the way your body reacts to your band. -
Lap Band vs. the Sleeve
Fritzy1980 replied to tamarlarae's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Missy and Holly, tracking what I'm eating is the biggest factor in my weight loss after being banded. -
More than likely, you're fine. I didn't cheat on the pre-op diet, but I was eating normally after 1 week post-op. I ate fried rice the day after surgery, very little, but still. I've had no complications with my band. I think you'll be just fine.

Don't feel bad, your first instinct was to say no. Which means she's not worthy of knowing. I didn't tell anyone that wasn't immediatly related to me or my husband and I also asked them not to say anything about it. That was almost 2 years ago. Now, I'm comfortable discussing it with just about anyone. My 2 year band anniversary is March 11th. It took a while before I was comfortable talking about my band with just anyone, so don't feel bad for keeping it your business. You'll tell people when you're ready.

nausea then tight feeling band? should I worry?
Fritzy1980 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had an episode of light headedness and nausea after trying to help my husband. He cut his tongue and it was bleeding pretty badly. After I got myself collected from the light headedness, I still feel nauseous and now my band is feeling tight. I did not vomit. I've never had this issue with the sight of blood in the past either. Should I be worried? -
I was plateaued for 3 months. Hopped on the scale today and I've finally started losing again! So, a message to thosed who are stuck and feel hopeless, keep at it! Keep eating right, tracking what you're eating, ( I reccomend Myfitnesspal) and exercising!

It's easy to get discouraged and having patience isn't easy lol You'll get back to losing, just keep up your regimen! You can do it! -
Does anyone else just sometimes...forget you have a band?
Fritzy1980 replied to nikils015's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I "forgot" about my band on my honeymoon. I had been banded for 8 months and had been doing very well. A few days before my actual wedding my Dr removed 1cc (I was at 6.3ccs) from my band just so I could enjoy my wedding and not have to worry about spending my wedding reception in the bathroom. 3 days after the wedding, I had the 1cc plus another .4ccs put back in. I hadn't quite adjusted to that when we went away for the honeymoon and spent our first nights dinner time in the bathroom. Just remember to go slow and chew thoroughly and you'll be fine. I've been banded almost 2 years ( March 11, 2011 ) -
I was banded 3-11-11. I have lost 117lbs since. For the last 2 months I have stopped losing. I lost steadily before hand, 2-3lbs a week. I was tracking everything with Myfitnesspal, but stopped tracking 11-11-12 when I went away for my one year anniversary. I need to start tracking again, I know. What else can I do to get back on track?
-
Thank you both. Honestly, I probably haven't been eating very healthy which is why I'm back to my myfitnesspal app starting today. I will get it back on track. I do excersize, but perhaps my body has grown complacent with what I do. A little change up could help. I have to be careful though, I have slipped disks in my lower back from a car accident. It can be very easy for me to throw out my back and be out of commission for a week. Thanks for the positive reinforcement!!!

Share You Weight Loss Please :)

I was banded March 11, 2011. I'm down 108lbs, only 54 more to my goal. I haven't had any abnormal band issues. In Nov 2011 I had a small amount of fill removed for my wedding day, but had it put back in before the honeymoon. I recently had to have my fill cut back due to heart burn. That is the worst problem I've had.
