I had my lapband surgery done in Feb. of this year. Everything has gone great, however this past week I have been uncomfortable. I used to be able to distinctly feel my port under one of my scars, but now i dont feel it anymore. My left ribs have been feeling like something is rubbing on them and my left side has felt irritated. Has anyone heard of their port moving?? Is it possible? I've been doing more exercise this week such as baseball which has involved more of my stomach muscles and twisting... I called my on-call doctor but no return call yet..

cottage cheese was my best friend haha. Apple sauce, types of cheese, etc. Make sure to take vitamins. Also, about throwing up... I was banded in Feb this year and have NEVER thrown up. Im not sure if that is normal, but instead of throwing up it just hurts ALOT.

Swimming after surgery???
kiwi201000 replied to pearlygirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am exactly 2 weeks post op (just got back from San Diego actually). My doc said I could go swimming once the incisions are closed. Mine are healed and the scabs are falling off (gross i know sorry) but I think I would wait another week to be on the safe side. I guess it depends on how fast you will heal. Maybe you could just stay in the shallow end with your baby and not get the incisions in the water? -

I was banded 2/14/08 by Atkinson & Soong. I am doing GREAT and have lost 20lbs so far in only 2 weeks. They are very dedicated doctors and Dr Soong has emailed me personally to check in on me. I also payed cash and had the surgery the next week!!! -
Hi, I am just beggining to look into the lapband surgery. Im 18 and have a BMI of 36, Im 5'10 and weigh 251. My mom got the gastric bypass surgery and she is doing great. I have a few questions.. What is the BMI requirement to have the lapband surgery? I read that it can be between 35-40 if you have health problems relating to your obesity, I have had terrible knee problems and am wondering if that will even be considered? Will my families history affect whether or not I can get the surgery? Also, do having the fills hurt at all? And the scar that is the port, does it take longer to heal than the other scars? And can you feel the port under your skin? Any info helps! Thanks!
