    Beans

You can also try small cup of Wendy's chili. I have them put cheese on top, very flavorful, it is one cup so I get two meals.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

I think it is amazing the things our brains tell us concerning our weight loss. I was having one of those days myself, I have a raging cold with tons of drainage (TMI I know) so stayed home from work. Before surgery this would have been my excuse to graze all day in front of the TV, and today I didn't really want any hard protein on my sore throat, I still felt like I did sooo bad today, but just checked MFP and I'm at 690 calories, 22 fat g and 63g protein. Not as much protein as I normally get 80-90g but ok since I'm sick. So why did my mind tell me I ate too much!
  9. I think I read in the research I did before surgery that protein acts as fuel for us and keeps our metabolism revved up! So, by eating lots of protein we are burning the fat!

    New Topic Suggestion.....

I also use my fitness pal to log everything. If you log on using a computer you can change your goals and ratios, so I set what I want my calories, protein an carbs to be!

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

I had the best protein power up snack yesterday afternoon. I'm 8 weeks out, and after not having any bread or crackers for 3 months including my pre-op, I bought some Nature's Own 100 calorie Multi-grain English muffins at the store. They have 1 g of fat, 24 g carbs, 3 sugars and 5 g protein. I knew I would only eat one half so cut all those in 1/2, then I spread a think layer of peanut butter on it and some SF Strawberry Preserves and it was heaven! Not an every day treat, but something for once in a while!

What Are You Eating For Breakfast

I am 8 weeks out, weekdays on my drive to work I do an 8oz protein shake since it is easy to drink it while driving and start the day off with lots of protein. On the weekends, I usually do one scrambled egg with some shredded cheese and either Turkey sausage crumbles or a Turkey sausage patty. They are very flavorful!

    Shrimp! Who Would Have Thought!

I am also loving shrimp and I'm 8 weeks out! I even take just 4 boiled shrimp with some lemon for lunch because it doesn't take much planning! Throw some Greek yogurt or a boiled egg with it and I'm ready to go! I've also been grilling it and trying it with different spices, my whole family loves shrimp so it is a win, win!
  14. I did the same thing, Unjury Chicken and Unjury Unflavored in my broths. Also, Isopure was considered a clear liquid on my post-op. You can get it at Vitamin Shoppe or others. It is like gatorade only low cal, low carb, low sugar. I'm 7 1/2 weeks out and it does get easier! I was one of those that stocked up on everything, and now have lots of low sodium chicken broth! I don't think it is a bad idea before the surgery to stock up on the non-food supplies so that after you don't have to run out to get things. I had a strainer for chunky soups, food scale, small 1 oz, 2 oz and 3 oz glass measuring, as well as other measuring cups. Little plates, bowls, spoons and forks. I got all these at Target in bright colors. And my Magic Bullet for shakes, soups and when you get to purees!

Brown Baggin' It At Lunch--Need Help

Hi kerbarrett, I am also 7 weeks out today and pack my lunch just about every day. Some days I am bringing some boiled shrimp, a few pistacchios and cottage cheese. I have also been bringing good ham with a piece of cheese rolled up in it and some spicy brown mustard to dip it in. I also am doing lots of eggs, tuna, cheese and greek yogurt and cottage cheese just like everyone else!! I did get on the world accoding to eggface (my most favorite blog) this last weekend and make 2 batches of her protein bites, one was ham and cheese and the other was bacon and swiss. They are the perfect size to eat 3 at lunch and are yummy!

What Does Your Stomach Feel Like When You Eat?

I am six weeks out and had the same issues with certain soups when I was at that phase. Most were just fine, but my sleeve did not like broccali and cheese! Now, I have been cleared for full foods and I get full off of 1/4 to a few ounces of meat or veggies. I have found a few items that still make my sleeve rumbly, it is all still new, but wonderful!

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

greenfamily, we have very similar stats and experiences. I was sleeved on the 14th and have lost 25 since surgery and 33 overall. I also am getting in aroun 700 calories a day and doing pretty good on my protein and water. I have not had the issues with food going down, just an uncomfortable feeling if I go to fast or eat too much! But, right now everything is going great! My NUT told me that 25 lbs in the 6 weeks was right on track and I don't want it coming off too fast and to just keep tracking everything!

Getting there, I will hopefully be at the support group on 11/7 and would love to meet you also! My hubby is a football coach so I will just have to coordinate some babysitting for that evening and then I could come there after work. I do plan on going to Dr. Kim's Christimas party, it sounds fun!

Getting there, I am in Texas and I never checked for duct tape! LOL :0 That is funny! I had glue and staples too! I'm 6 weeks out and 6 inscisions sites are lightening in color and shrinking, a very small price to pay for the benefits! I am also hungry every few hours or so. I begin my day with Isopure, then a shake on the way to work that takes until 10:30 or so to drink, then lunch and a snack about 3pm and then dinner. I'm doing all proteins, except I have not had a steak or salad yet.

    Alcohol?

ljam 75, that is good to know!!! I thought they might be better, but evidently not!

    Alcohol?

I'm not at that stage just yet, but I've been wondering about the "Skinny Girl" line of drinks, margaratia, cosmopolitan, pina colada, etc. These are not carbonated and specifically have less calories and sugar so they might be a good option!

    7 Weeks To Skinny!

Before surgery, the list on this site helped in the pre-op forum. I also stocked up on measuring cups, a kitchen scale, small bowls, small spoons, forks, Tevia cups that I marked the ounces on, a Magic Bullet for shakes and purees. I also got same packs of several Bariatric Vitamins and tried some to see which ones I liked! Celebrate Viatmins will send you a sample of all of their vitamins, I think for $5.00. Then I ordered my multi, B12, D and Calcium so that it was all waiting on me. I had lots of Protein powder on hand and broth for right after. You don't have to have all of this, but it made it easier on me the weeks after surgery. Plus, I'm a planner so it made me feel more prepared! Good luck on the beginning of your journey! I'm 5 1/2 weeks out and it has been wonderful! I just had a check up yesterday and got cleared for everything!

    What Can Cause A Leak?

I get my Biotin at the Vitamin Shoppe, it is also 5000 mcg and is dissolves in your mouth, I think it is by Twin Labs.
