5 months post op weight loss
LadySha replied to danic-j's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
At 5 months, I lost a total of 74 pounds. -
I had the same procedure done about 3 weeks ago and is still experiencing the same problem. My doctor told me I may need a second dilation to fix the problem. It is a painless procedure and you will be able to eat soft foods the first day and return to your regular diet the next day. I was freaking out as well before the procedure, but it only lasted about 15 minutes (not including sedation). You will be fine.

...........and i thought i was the only one!!!! Yes, I am always freezing.......like you, more now than ever before. I normally drink hot tea and keep a blanket and socks nearby. At work, i purchased a personal heater. I don't know why the change. However, I am looking for answers, as well.

Bad Eating And Gaining Weight Back:(
LadySha replied to katrina81's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Katrina, you have come too far to just give up. Ok.....you were back sliding. Now.....take control and get back on the losing bench. Protein, water, exercising, and your vitamin are essential to weight loss. This should be a part of your everyday life. Yes, it will be hard to stay on track. Maybe you could reward yourself when you lose a certain amount of weight. It is so hard for me, as well. I will be 5 weeks on tomorrow and i have had my ups and downs, However, I don't give up. Soooooo......with that being said, let's start fresh tomorrow and keep us posted. You may have to plan your meals ahead of time and stick to it. This site is helpful in keeping you motivated.....please use the resources. I wish you the best of luck and invite you to come back to the loser's bench (you already have all the right tools to start again.........your sleeve). You will do well. -
Could I Eat Something For Nausea
LadySha replied to mrs sandy r's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt the same way and my doctor told me if i had to eat anything to make sure it was cream of chicken or a yogurt. Also, i am diabetic, so going without food was a no-no for me. i still was able to loss almost 17 pounds before my surgery. I only needed the soup for day 2, 3, and 4...........and back to the liquids again. You should do fine. Don't give up and good luck. -
You will do well. You have already made the big decision to lose the weight and is headed in the right direction. I was once in your shoes. As a matter of fact, I resented getting my sleeve until 3 weeks post-op. Once I saw I was able to eat smaller portions and the weight start falling......I knew then it was the best decision I have ever made in regards to myself. I am a bread lover and now I am able to look at it and move on. My head is strong on losing my weight. The best advice I can give anyone is to plan your meals, make healthy choices and to drink plenty of water and liquids. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Protien Suggestions
LadySha replied to SLEEVEDNBEAUTIFUL's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unjury was great. I had no after-taste. -
I am 8 days post-op and it has been a struggle for me, as well. I questioned myself every day.........every day. I do agree with ebthompson2010, the 3rd and 4th box was aweful for me. Hell, everyday after that was horrible. On day 5, my incisions were infected, day 6 I was back in ER because I was dehydrated and my largest incision developed a pus like bubble on top of it. i had to complete a CT scan with contrast. Trying to explain to the nurses I can not drink the entire contrast was a waste of time. Most of them have not heard of a WLS Sleeve Surgury. Day 7, I experienced a low grade fever most of the day, so back to ER I go until day 8, which is today. I fill better today than the last 5 or 6 days. So, yes, I questioned myself did I make the best decision and I'm still pondering. I'm so frustrated!!!

I have used the spironolactone and it did slow down the growth of hair, but not as much as I would have wanted it too. I am looking into laser treatments. I hear it can be effective with several treatment.

You are not alone in this battle. Your thoughts were also my thoughts. I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning and I am questioning myself, as well. However, when it is done, I know I will not regret my decision to have this surgery. -
Continue to hang in there. You are working toward a greater prize.......a new YOU! Today makes day 11 for me. It actually got better and now I have to force myself to drink my fluids. I am not hungry at all.

My Scale Lies I Know It!
LadySha replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weight watchers seem to produce a better scale. I had mines for almost 10 years and still give accurate numbers. Wal-mart sells them for $29.99 - $44.99. -

All of you are very encouraging. I am due for surgery on Wednesday, August 8, and I am so scared. I had thoughts of backing out. However, when reality sinks in, I know I need this surgery in order to live a healthy life. -
