I agree - now that I am at goal I sure don't get many people saying ' oh you should never of had that operation'. I never worry about what other people think - this was all about me!! Any huge weight loss is never easy and people that say that really have no idea what is involved so I would just laugh it off - or I agree with them and then ask if it is something they ever considered (because I have a wicked streak!). Of course, if there was any other way we could have lost weight, with the guarantee that it would stay off for life, (because this is all about life!) then we all would have taken that road. As it stands, all the studies show that this is currently one of the only effective treatments for long term weight loss - as told to me by my GP! Gee - I got on my soap box a bit there!

Forgot to mention, weighed in at my surgeons and I am 65kg so GOOOOOOAL!! I am so happy - BMI of 23! I can't quite believe it! My hair loss has stopped (not exactly growing back yet) - hey I learnt something interesting from my dietician, I was eating heaps of Brazil nuts thinking I was doing the right thing and I found out that the selenium in these nuts can be toxic! She told me not to eat more than four a day!!! Yikes - guess what one of the symptoms of poisoning is - hair loss!!! I had stopped eating so many over Christmas (I had gone to chocolate over this period!!) and coincidentally that is when my hair loss tapered off! Who knows, but interesting.

Welcome aboard angie and good luck to everyone that is on their pre-op diets and on the countdown! As Ajussiegirl has said, we have a great group here and we are all at different stages so a wealth of experiences - good and bad so heaps of shoulders to cry on or high fives to receive!!

Right - ribs, cauliflower pizza and chia seeds for dinner! Hope everyone is going well - I am sitting in my surgeons office waiting to see him and see the dietitian - not quite sure how I am going to explains my diet of chocolate, shortbreads and fudge over Christmas! Hoping the weight is good but I am sure they are going to be on my case about the exercise!

Hi Kelli - I have heard that James had gastric bypass and that Joe had the sleeve - I never trust the media as 9 times out of 10 the get the details wrong. It makes me curious though why do they do bypasses rather than the sleeve on some people? Regarding your weight loss progress (which must be really frustrating for you). I was sleeved on the 18 July and have been loosing pretty consistently however now I am near goal it is very slow. Over the last 25 days while on holiday I have even eating loads of bad food so I won't give that as my example of what I eat daily! When I say bad I mean potato chips, chocolate, fudge (I have developed a sweet tooth - lord help me!), ice cream to name a few! We got home last night and I jumped on the scales with fear in my heart but what a relief - I had lost 1kg! It was only 1kg over the whole 3plus weeks but I was relieved it wasn't a gain. Normally what I would eat daily on a non socialising day is Breakfast is two cups of tea and then Raw muesli with some Brazil nuts and lite milk - as much as I can eat which can be a cup on a good day or half a cup on a bad day. 2-3 hours later I have a snack of nuts - as many as I can fitii lunch I will have some Protein - usually Tuna, chicken, Salmon and some salad if I can fit it 2-3 hours later I will eat some more salad or a piece of fruit dinner I will have chicken, fish and a green vege 2 hours later I will have some more protein - usually what I left from dinner Gee this sounds like a lot but you know how little we can eat. I also throw in at least one coffee somewhere - don't always have time to finish it. I try to drink my Water too but I must say that is a challenge! Things I don't eat are - or if I do are usually only a few mouthfuls very rarely Rice, Bread, Pasta, Potato. I can't handle any very dry meats like over cooked steak or chicken. I must say I am very texture orientated now! I am no expert but I tend to agree with Lila - you may find that you are not eating enough - with me , I have found that eating every few hours helps and of course the magical water always makes the weight come off - I am the worst at that! oops and exercise! You are doing the right thing by going back to your dietician and just keep chipping away at it. I always compare myself to others too - I think it is human nature to do that as we have all had the same procedure so would all expect to have the same results! However we are all so different! You are looking fantastic Kelli and you have come such a long way and you will get off this last stall and start loosing again. I think what happens to me is because we are all throwing around these huge weight loss numbers I get a bit ammune to actually how much weight we have lost in the short time frame and my expectations are raised very high - I have to keep reminding myself that this is a work in progress and it will happen - even if you do eat a bit of crap occasionally! I also try to tell my self that I have two legs like Hussein Bolt but I am NEVER going to be able to run like him no matter how hard I trained and I am never going to have a figure like Jen Hawkins no matter how much weight I lose! Hi to everyone else - I am reading posts all the time so keeping up. I am on my fitness pal too but it makes me feel guilty about not exercising!!

Well done Nessa - great feeling isn't it. Can you see your self getting slimmer? It took me quite a while to be able to see myself slimmer and even now I have my 'fat' days. The mind is a curious thing!

Hi all - Just checking in and I notice that I have had a lot of reading to catch up on! I am still on holiday and haven't weighed myself since before Christmas - I won't be back until the 19th so dreading the weigh in! My diet has been really un disaplined and I have been indulging in homemade shortbread, chocolate and lots of other goodies - seriously I am a bit concerned but as long as I am still in the healthy BMI I am not going to worry. I will be back on track when I get home. My main worry at the moment is that I seem to have some hormonal imbalance and I am a bit concerned I will end up with an Iron deficiency - so back to my GP! I have heard that weight loss can play havoc with your cycle so hoping it is that but could be my age too - sorry for the guys on here that have to listen to this - too much info I guess! Anyway, great to hear that everyone is progressing through their different stages pre-op. I wouldn't worry about weight gains with band removal - the pre op diet will get you back on track and then once you have the sleeve the weight will all be down from there! Puppuyphat - as long as you are within the healthy BMI and your bloods are ok and you are taking your supplements and you are feeling strong then I wouldn't worry. Exercise will make you feel even better! Lila - what can I say other than YIPPEE for you! 50 kg - you must be feeling pretty happy with yourself! Aussiegirl - hope you finding your recovery not too tiresome! I am sending my healing vibes your way! Sounds like the Brisbane crowd had a nice lunch - Dean - loved you comment about the two attractive girls you had lunch with! Sydney crowd - lets do that soon too! Sorry if I have missed anyone and welcome to all new posters on this thread!

Have a great News Eve guys! You are all sounding so positive and motivated! I haven't set myself any goals for 2013 yet! I haven't hoped on the scales for a couple of weeks and I must admit I am a bit scared too - I have not been eating so well over this Christmas period and just don't want to face any weight gain. Just a fear of going backwards and having that feeling of failure after so much progress! Lila - I too had a dose of the sun - my skin hasn't seen the light of day for years so I think it got a bit of a shock when I wore a tank top and went for a walk on the beach - it was really nice to feel the sun on my skin but I could have put lotion on - go figure! Dean - shame you have to work but thanks for doing your job to keep us all safe - hope you do get home to Celebrate the new year in with your better half and family :-) Aussie Girl - you are an inspiration! With your great outlook, I am sure some gorgeous man will want to be part of it! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Oops - pressed send before I had finished . What I was trying to say was when I could fit into normal shop clothes it made it all 'real' and I could actually start believing I was losing the weight even though it took me a while to see it in myself. Well done Lila - enjoy every moment!

Have a great Christmas and New year Lila. Everyone is a bit quiet on here as I guess we are all busy with Xmas events! Wishing all my fellow sleevers an awesome Christmas and New Year! I am not sure how much I will be around as I have a holiday planned too.

Is any of the Sydney crowd keen to meet up for a coffee in the New Year? I am in the North West but am happy to visit the city or Parra!
