I agree Aussiegirl - people are very harsh when they have never experienced being truly overweight and having to lose the amount of weight we have all had get off while dealing with ravenous hunger and constant triggers and temptation, is near impossible. Until you have walked in someone else's shoes .... I say put them on the preop diet of 700 calories and then tell them that they have to live the rest of their life feeling that hungry! They would stampeding Maccas! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Lissa - way to go! Well done and what incredible weight loss! Aussie girl - any Wednesday evening will suit me - I think Jimbo has a few more weeks on the soft food so mid June should be good timing. Brendan - good for you, the next few weeks will be the hardest so just keep telling yourself that and thinking of the light at the end of the tunnel - or should I drop the analogies and just say the weight loss as you jump on the scales and slipping into those new trendy clothes! One not so good one for the girls (so to speak - and probably TMI for the boys!) From size 18 DD down to 14C - haven't seen those skimpy little sizes since I was 18! Oh to be 18 again because then I wouldn't need the push up model!!

hi Mimz - so glad to see you back and to hear your good news. we haven't set a date yet just a day and place - a Wednesday evening near Darling Harbour. The only reason we selected this mplace is because Jimbo and myself work near there and Aussiegirl lives in Pyrmont. Jimbo is on shift work and a few more weeks of purée and soft foods so we will have a definite date once that is sorted. I hope you can join us but if you can't we can go somewhere different that is more convenient for you next time!

Aussiegirl - I am back at work after a year off. I only work from the office one day a week on Wednesdays so if you are running on that bridge at about 8am in the morning or 5pm in the evening - then I have definitely passed you! I will keep my eye out for you! Kitikat - welcome to our thread! You will have some fun here! We are all at different stages all going different things so have most things covered. Hope your pre op and post op stages go well. I guess you are well versed with the chew chew and eating slow bit!

Aussiegirl, Lissa and Misty - I feel your cold pain! I walked from the city across the pyrmont bridge to work this morning and I was chilled to the bone! I was wearing spencer, merino wool skivvy, cardy AND coat! I think I need full on thermals including the long johns - hey wasn't part of the deal that I was actually going to look sexier in my underwear!!

great stuff Liss - you look amazing and unrecognisable from your former self - you look so much younger! Did you have to get your glasses adjusted - I have found that mine were falling off my head as my head and even my nose got much smaller!

Wishing you all the best for today!

Confession - I spent Mothers Day doing exactly what I wanted - lying on the couch in my jarmies watching sci-fi and eating peanut M & M's!!!

Hi Bec - don't worry - I didn't see a physiologist pre op either. I think I'm OK although I have had my moments! This thread has helped me so much - even if everyone has different issues it comes back to the same old thing 'a problem shared is a problem halved' - thanks everyone for your experiences, insights and advice - may it continue :-) !!
