    Question About Oatmeal

My surgeon wants us to use double strength milk. Basically adding powdered milk to my 1% milk. Adding additional milk to any dairy type products. So when you make the oatmeal sprinkle some powdered milk to increase your protein.
  3. We were sleeved the same day too. I have kept to my plan and literally counting the days till Tuesday when I can start pureedMushy food. I'm so eager to add more of a selection of food to my "can eat" menu. I can relate to feeling so good too. I feel as if I didn't have any type of surgery other than the big reminder that I can eat only so much before getting full. I dont like that heavy full feeling (I over did it with my soup and thought I was going to throw up, but thank God I didnt). Hang in there, we're almost to the next phase in our meal plan!

    Size 18-20 To A Size 4

The closest I've ever been to was my daughter's 4T! I am so looking forward to good things ahead!
  7. I am so emotional and so nervous. I'm actually starting to second guess myself and getting doubtful. I feel like my insides are knotted so tight that I can't think straight. I didn't do as well as I would have liked on my liquid diet but I couldn't tolerate the Protein shakes, I kept saying I have time and now it's tomorrow. Oh my gosh, I always dreamed of being thin and healthy and now that time has come. God bless to all those with upcoming surges. May you all have Godspeed in your recovery! Here's to seeing less of of you and Me!! <3
  8. Thank you. She is a firm believer of natural healing but there some things that just don't work for me and the dieting I did and gym didn't work enough to get rid of my diabetes. The good thing is we don't live in the same city. She will get over it when she sees how healthy and happy I will be, the funny part is that my husband just had lipo and I'm sure she'll blame me for that one! Ha! Oh well I had nothing to do with that one. I'm finding the more I talk about it here, the more it seems less important to me.

    Tomorrow Is The Day!

Thank you all for your concern and support. I am pleased to say I was sleeved and doing well. I'm 10 days post op and trying to figure out my new tummy! Hope all is well with you.

    Hunger!

Was sleeved on 8/14 and saw my doc for a post op follow up. Usually these appts. are two weeks after surgery but because my surgery was rescheduled, they had to fit me in a week after. Everything went well at appt but she said I could move onto next food stage. I was currently on full liquid and wondering if she didn't realize that I was only 7 days post op instead of 14. I've been trying to stick to the full liquid diet but find I'm really hungry. What should I do because I'm ready to have a go at the fridge and I don't want to sabatoge my 15 pound loss in 10 days. I am taking acid reflux meds in case you think it's acid and have tried to ignore the hunger paings but the monster in belly wants food! What to do???

    Hunger!

Yeah, I was thinking about that. I don't think I can handle a different texture right now.
  12. I'm kinda going through that now with my mother in law. She wasn't too supportive and wanted me to diet on my own instead of going the surgical route. My husband called her to tell her I was doing well after surgery so she knows I had it. But it's been an entire week since I had the surgery. I've posted things on Facebook (nothing about my surgery) so she knows I'm home and has yet to call us to ask how I'm doing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I guess I'm disappointed she could have at least called to check up on me considering we dont live in the same city...

    Shakes/jittery

Saw the doctor and was told to take less of my diabetic meds.
  14. Have any of you feel shaky or jittery? Kind of like when you don't eat for a while? I have been feeling this way when I wake up or sometimes during the day. I check my blood sugar levels and they are normal and don't know what's the cause. I was sleeved on 8/14 if that helps.
  15. Had mysurgery on 8/14/12 and have noticed a weird metallic taste in my mouth. Have any of you had this? It's driving me nuts.
  16. Started at 224 and down to 211 in 6 days. Tomorrow is my 1 week anniversary!
  17. You are to alone. I started to do that too. I'm finding that I'm hungry all the time. I'm doing what is asked but still hungry.
  18. I was sleeved on 8/14 and don't really feel hungry. When I do, I have some creamy soup or sugar free pudding (something like that) and then I'm ok. Best of luck to you.

    3 Days Post-Op And Amazed

Hey we're sleeve sisters! I was sleeved on Tuesday and came home yesterday. Feeling great, just trying to follow doctors orders of the liquid diet. The only pain I do get is the gas pain. But I go for walk with my kids they are younger and enjoy the walks. Best wishes!

Had Sleeve Tuesday. Omg The Pain

I was sleeved on Tuesday also, and I feel great. I don't have abdominal pain but I do have gas pain. It does get better with walking. I don't have a drain either, my doctor checks us for leaks via a contrast I had to drink in front of a doctor in the X-ray dept so he could see the path of that nasty stuff. Once I passed that test, I was given the green light to have a liquid diet. I'm home now and really don't know what to do with myself. I've never been one to relax...always something on my plate and being forced by my family to relax sucks! Ask me when I go back to work and I'm sure gonna wish I had one of these days back. Oh btw, what I do notice is I have jitters often. Do any of you have that?
  21. Today is my third day post op and like many of you said, I do feel better each and everyday. I passed my leak test and upgraded to liquid diet. I drank 1 ounce of beef broth, I felt it was too salty, a little bjt of Jello and more eater. I get to drink juice today but told to water it down. My only complaint is I have phlegm in my chest and it hurts to try and get it up. Gas is starting to come out much more easily, never thought if be happy to announce I am burping and tooting but what a relief! Will continue to post my updates. Hope all are doing well.
