And it went down so well! Ham 3oz, 3 green beans and about 1tsp of mashed potatoes. Strange how I'm satisfied with that small amount. First "real meal" I've had since surgery. Sleeved 2/27.

I'm trying to figure out what to eat/drink and when in regards to a work out. I started c25k this week and will be starting back to the YMCA next week. I know I need to be hydrated before a work out but what about protein and carbs? Protein before or after a workout? I never worried about it before because I had PLENTY of everything to last but now my intake is so small I want to do it a the best times. And thoughts or suggestions?

Thank you both! Very useful info. I never really took the time to care about it before because I had a "surplus". Now that I take in very little I'm trying to do it right. Thanks again!

daily weighers: how long till you claim a lower number
Wls4me replied to TES's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh daily but record once a week in MFP. Every Wednesday since that's the day I had surgery. -
I had my surgery Feb 27 by Dr Pirrello at Presby Matthews. I have to say, as an RN, I am completely impressed by his whole practice. They have called me several times to check on me. Helped me through my FMLA paperwork. Dr Pirrello and his PA saw me 4 times each day I was in the hospital. Highly recommended!

It's from Dr Carl Lowe at Carolina Surgical. Their website is carolinasurgical.com. I'm not tech savvy enough to link the video. How this helps.

Haven't seen a thread about six inches but there is one about 13 inches! ????

I have only told my husband and one friend about my surgery. I am now 2 weeks post op and someone from work has invited me out to lunch. How do you handle this? What do you say?

Erythritol is a sugar alcohol used to sweeten it. As far as carbs I have no idea, I count total carbs.

Has she had any gastric motility studies? And have they ruled out gastroporesis? Just a thought and something I didn't see in your post. I am sorry both you and your daughter are going through this. -
Pregnant after 15 days of surgery? Im scared!
Wls4me replied to Lina12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is another person in this forum that is about 30 weeks post op and 28 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately I can't remember her name but do some searching. I'm sure she can be of some help to you. -
Breakfast: 1 egg and 8oz of juice 130 cals Snack: Protein shake 120cals Lunch: Greek yogurt 65 cals Snack: cheese stick 50cals Dinner: Ricotta bake 130cals Total: 500cals and 46G of Protein My NUT wants me at 800cals and 60-80 grams of protein. How in the world do I do this? I can add another protein shake and that will get my protein up but she doesn't really want me to drink. She wants it to come from food. Any ideas/suggestions? What do you all eat in a day to get your numbers up?

I'm days PO and I ate 1 whole meatball!! The amazing part is that I don't want/need any more! It's a strange feeling but I good one.
-
Anniemay it doesn't have to change. I bring my protein shake to the dinner table and now I'm starting to have a little food with my family. If I can't have what they're eating I just have something that is leftover. Dinner time is precious time for us, I wouldn't change that because I can't eat what they are. Just my thought.

It's on my list for after day 15. Any soft ground meat. And it's on the suggestion list from my NUT. I had 2 weeks of liquids now soft foods. Everyone's doctors and NUTs have different plans.
-
It was just one of the small frozen ones but its the most volume I've eaten since my surgery. (I ate a second one a little while ago but don't tell anyone)
-
Oh sorry. Not sure why that didn't come up but I'm 16 days PO. It took me 30 mins and I had to reheat it but it went down pretty easy.

Keeping surgery MY secret
Wls4me replied to CarolinaGurl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Talk to your surgeon and tell him your concerns. He needs to know your surgical history. When you go under anesthesia there are many devices they use to maintain your breathing, not always intubation. Most commonly they use a device called an LMA and it goes into your esophagus. If any issues arise your stomach is near by and may take the brunt of it (I don't want to go into details so as to not scare anyone unnecessarily) They definitely need to know about your sleeve. They also need to know how you have handled anesthesia. I completely understand wanting to keep it private, my hubby is the only one that knows about my sleeve. -
I've been wanting fish particularly tuna salad and fried fish. Strange thing is that I have never been much of a fish or seafood person.
