Wow im sorry you have to go through that. Have you ever considered any of the surgerons in mexico? They have pretty good self-pay prices, and payment plans, no hassle, and thousands of people say their experience was great.

This is what I do when I am scared about anything. I think about the stuff ill be doing afterward, and that really helps!! -
I had one yesterday!! I was really nervous too but like you said, the worst part was the IV. That burned ALOT and it still hurts!! Does your throat feel weird? My throat is starting to feel weird; no pain but feels a little raw.

I have been here too. My reply to my friend was something similar to this: It is not up to you to determine how and when God will present me with an option that will be long lasting and beneficial to my health. God promised "life and life more abundantly" and "health and prosperity". It is up to you as an individual to pursue those things and I have made bad decisions. I have tried to exercise and get my temple right, but this is a weak area. I KNOW that God opened the door for me to have this operation, and the result will be that his temple will finally be healthy -- the way he planned and his child (me) will be happy. God gives you tools to use to enhance your life. If you lose your job and need money... it does not fall from a tree, he will lead somebody to give you the money or lead somebody to offer you a part time position, or whatever. Theres no difference here -- I am over weight, I am headed down the road for diseases and God has given me this last opportunity to make a permanent change. Why do you think he gave the doctors the capacity to learn, understand and be innovative enough to come up with this procedure? If this is not a subject you can handle talking about or supporting me on, then we will avoid it all together. -
Hey I go to pole dancing classes once in a while! Its a FANTASTIC workout! I am 260lbs and I grab the pole and get my feet off the ground so I think they are more sturdy than they say! You should be fine and 189! Its really fun and you feel super sexy!!

4 Months Transformation

4 months! I want YOUR sleeve!!! Awesome lady you look fantastic! -
I have tried them "Miracle Noodle" brand. It didnt smell or taste weird. It was a bit chewier than regular noodles, but they basically suck up the flavor of what you cook them in. I had the best result when I let them cook in the crock pot for a while. I did chicken soup and it was pretty good! Very filling, feels like your cheating lol. (I am still pre-op)

simply.torri replied to Jack Fabulous's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
E-Girl you are so right! It takes me 45 minutes to get down there, so I am not sure I'll make it to the support groups either! I would like to try to go to one or two though. Congrats on 94lbs!!! -

I did HCG as well. It was hard as hell, but i lost 20lbs and 3 dress sizes and felt fabulous. Like everyone, I gained it back x3 lol. Then I did that -20lbs loss about 3 more times, and was just gaining/losing/gaining lol. Terrible cycle. If i HAD to lose a 10-20lbs quickly for surgery, I would honestly do HCG again. Its a quick solution. However, I would never do HCG again hoping that it would be a "permanent solution" to losing weight, because I have proven that I just cant keep it off after the very low calorie diet phase! That goes for all the other fad-diets too, like Atkins. They are temporary solutions, as soon as you start back eating normally (not even in excess) you gain everything back. I don't have an amount of weight to lose before surgery, but if i did, i would do HCG again real quick. But in this case I would asctually consult a doctor cuz im a scardy cat and not sure if the hormone will have any effects on the surgery.

Tingling In Extremities
simply.torri replied to Pgk854's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I experienced this a few years ago and the Dr. put be on potassium too. It seems liek its just not a Vitamin we get enough of, plus it is not in most mutivitamins. Trying taking 2-3 potatssium pills (you can buy them at walmart, cvs, etc.) for a few days. Worked for me. -
Thanks for answering my question Lynda! lol I have really wondered about that!!! I will feel like a new woman with more space down there haha.

How Do You Stay Motivated During The Long Waiting Period?
simply.torri replied to Strangefruit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wow im sorry, that is a lot of frustration!! Are you only allowed to use Doctors in your area? My insurance has doctors all over the place... Infact my surgeon isn't even near my home. Is that not an option for you? Also that dream is crazy lol. I surely hope it doesn't happen like that! -
Pre-Op Weight Gain
simply.torri replied to scaredoftheunknown's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
goodluck, i think you are on the right track. I would probably focus on the liquid diet (the shakes and small salad like you mentioned) and not the exercise, because exercise will make you build muscle, and muscle will show up on the scale! Last time I did a liquid diet i lost 11lbs the first week so hopefully you will have the same result! !
