First Time Drinking Alcohol Post Op
suzjag replied to learning to fly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 1 week postop today and had a glass of Chardonnay last***ht. It was fine didn't feel any different except drinking it so slow has to diminish the effect. I think anytime a person goes a long period without drinking it will hit them harder when they do. -
Totally normal

Great information really puts it in perspective. Thanks!'

There must be areason why at 4 months in this happens. I wonder if the initial shock nutritionally and physically produces the hair loss and depending on how well one adjusts explains why some lose hair and some don't. I read somewhere it's a symptom of malnutrition. Any thoughts?

Week 5- So Depressing / Disgusting To Eat
suzjag replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can completely understand. I eat for comfort as well and I am 5 days post op. We HAVE TO break the cycle and find our comfort elsewhere or we will not be successful. I worry about this myself. It is something I was born and bred to do EAT! I finally figured out the extent to which I use food and it's scary. I WILL do whatever it takes though. I take antidepressants too, and like they all said u can't stop abruptly, this could be contributing to your anxiety. Take a deep breath, suck on a worther's (lol they taste good, I miss that too) and know that u are worth all the effort and sacrifice. Much love, Suzie -
Thanks tamtam

What Was It Like The First Day After Sleeve?
suzjag replied to lglavish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on your surgery! I felt horrible nausea and was actually throwing up air. The trapped gas was very uncomfortable. So glad u didn't have that. Good luck on your journey???? -
I've always been a daily weigh in person. I don't get discouraged until too much time passes without a loss. Of course I'm hangin tough and looking forward to EVERYTHING

Starting To Wonder If I Can Do It..
suzjag replied to angelofmercy36's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@tallysfunny. Your right if we could have done it before we would have. When I turned 50 I pretty much said thats it. Can't keep fooling myself. Everything was starting to become an effort. My Mom passed about a year ago and her life was cut short from being obese. She was only 74. I went to my first seminar on her birthday and I vowed I would not repeat her legacy. I know she's looking down on me and cheering me on. So let's embrace out journey and take the bad with the good. Loose skin and all -
From what I hear it grows back but I'm curios who didn't have to experience it.
